  • In this video I teach my American wife how to eat with hands Indian style. Many Indians eat with their hands and for many non-Indians, it is not easy to do. This was a fun video to make having Margaret and Aleyka learn to eat with their hands.
Growing up in a multicultural family, Aleyka is learning all kinds of new things!
Indian American couple vlogs how to eat with hands.

It nice to hear all of you speaking American English.
Kids adapt easily and handle multiple languages as the brain is growing and evolving. If you can home tutor her to Malayalam words, letters and give kids books and songs to her, she can be equally fluent in Malayalam. A lot of content and cartoons are available online too.
In an increasingly globalized and connected world each additional language is a great skill too.
Why I said this is because the way she said sukamaano is just like any malayali kid

Eating with hand..... there is a lot advantage and benefits... cause when you eat with spoon, you don't feel the food texture and that food is cold or hot, we can't feel that when we use spoon.....but when we use hand we feel food texture ( food is hard or soft) and main thing , when in food any small stone or small things are there, we can throw the thing, when we mix the food with hand........how accept this press 👍👍👍

No matter how you eat. You relish on your own accord. I am Indian, Bengali. I never mix all at a time. I do it in several phases. But when I eat very hot rice with ghee, I use a spoon to it. Never mix ghee or salt homogeneous all at a time. If you mix all at a time the stuff will rapidly cool and will become inferior in taste. Plain rice with pure ghee from cow milk is a spiritual food.

As asians we have been accustomed to eating by hand since childhood. When we come to another country, we have to learn to eat with spoons and forks. In addition to the language we have spoken since childhood, we have to learn to speak English. Moreover, you can handle the food comfortably. I can't imagin how one can eat porotta with fork and spoon. 😄. The only problem is that you have to wash your hands thoroughly using a soap, both before and after eating.😄 And make sure you go to hygienic restaurants where they dont handle and serve foods with hands !
