    Gallagher definitely deserves a new contract in my opinion. He’s been giving his all on the pitch since the final stretch of games last season. However, I do think that he can fall down the pecking order when everyone is fit. It might be best, for his career, to go to another club. We will see what happens though.

      2025 is only when we are acquiring the land. The blocks of flats will need to be demolished, planning will have to be accepted before any building can take place and a deal will have to be struck with the Chelsea Pitch Owners before stadium will be torn down. As another commenter mentioned, 2030 is a more realistic aim. IMO it would be better for you to visit the old stadium before it's gone!

  • @WillHest
    @WillHest Před 7 měsíci +14

    Upgrading Stamford Bridge is a difficult one for any owner because the issue isn’t the land for building per-se but evacuating the fans in the event of a fire. With the District and Overground lines blocking us in it means Fulham Broadway is the only road people can escape to. The other side of the Overground line theres a cemetery. So not like you can just build a bridge over the track.
    If we move while the rebuild commences I believe this will be the first time we’d have played home games away from the bridge.

      60,000? Wouldn't fill it unless priced right. 20,000 extra coming out after a match. Chaos. Earls Court would be much much better. 3 stations not far away ideal except that the purchase premium makes it untenable.

  • @not_harrymaguire
    @not_harrymaguire Před 7 měsíci +7

    Gallagher can fill in as a 6, 8, or 10. His work rate is incredible, and hes not afraid if going hard into a tackle. He may not be an automatic starter when Nkunku returns, but hes exactly what we need once we're back in Europe.

    On the other topic, my finger was hovering above the Send button to purchase my flight to England and I had made arrangements with a friend in the UK to purchase tickets for a match at Stamford Bridge when COVID put an end to those plans. That Stamford Bridge design that presented during the Abramovich tenure, resembling an ageless cathedral-esque design, should be given the green light by the new owners. I'd say go for that design in the exterior and make it really modern on the inside. I hate these new, cold, modern designs that most big stadiums are adopting, I was really excited to see us have a different and classy approach.

  • @scsutton1
    @scsutton1 Před 7 měsíci +7

    The way I see it, there's a couple of options as to what to do with Stamford Bridge:
    1) Go ahead with the entire stadium rebuild on the current site.
    2) Move away from Stamford Bridge down to Earl's Court, where the new stadium would have to go, given that Battersea is no longer a viable option.
    3) Leave it as it is, but do some major upgrades to bring it up to the level of the other London stadia.
    As for where we'd play our home games during the rebuild, it would probably be Wembley.

      Caicedo, Enzo, Nkunku, Lavia, Carney…when everyone is fit and ready to play, Gallagher doesn’t play ahead of either of those players..maybe Carney but carney plays in the 10 and left 8 in a 433. I like Gallagher bc of his clear love for the badge and the fight he has in the game but if £50m comes our way, see ya!!! Well, I guess it’s no longer possible, but a taking over the land at Earls Court would have been perfect. First, it is in Chelsea, it also would allow for over 60,000 capacity, it sits on Northern, Central and District tube lines, rather than just a minor spur of one of them, and, importantly,y, we could go using Stamford Bridge during construction. None of this is available if we rebuild at the current location. Al’s, we would not be displacing the old folks currently billeted next to the Bridge.

A global brand with a local presence so interesting to see how they play this one... I would actually be quite interested to see whether booze is central to their vision of a match day experience or do they follow the lead of Scottish stadiums where I gather alcohol is very much second to the 90 mins of football (imagine people pissing on your house as they mull over another win for the blues, slightly gets under the collar) I hope this stadium plan brings with it an equally ambitious desire to create crowd experiences of the future... a landmark of pride and perhaps not just a big pub - of course if you do want to celebrate, the local pubs of the area would no doubt be thankful.

    Blimey....The Stadium news is old news and I wrote what was going to be going on, about 4-5 months ago and the land was always going to be purchased and was just a case of "how much" ann approval of plan.
    It is NOT a new Stadium.
    Stamford Bridge will NOT be moved to a new Site.
    It is a total rebuild and it will cost in the region of £1.6b, rising to roughly £2.2b and more than the cost of Wembley, making it the most expensive built Football Stadium in Britain.
    It will be surrounded with shops, gyms, hotels, high-end Pubs/Wine-bars (not open on Match Days), restaurants etc and all sorts for the family.
    Stadium capacity will be 65,000 "hopefully" rising to 85,000, depending on planning permission and Police reports.
    The Stadium will be state of the art, like never seen before and I could go into it all, but will spare you.
    When finished, the Stadium Naming Rights have already been sold for £880m and a 12 year duration.
    Wembley will NOT be CFC's venue while the build goes on.
    Have I missed anything? :0)

    Gallagher is a squad player. Still not sure about keeping him despite the last couple of games.

    55000 is a joke for our club where is the ambition. Man u's is bigger as is and they are thinking of expanding, Arsenal bigger, West ham bigger, Liverpool will be bigger, and so will Newcastle in the future am sure, lets not forget the Tottenham bigger.👎🏼
    We should be thinking bigger like 80 + at least imagine the atmosphere and the revenue for our club.

    OK so we are already behind manu afc pool city spurs ect in terms of global revenue and stadium size and our owners response is to build a new stadium still smaller and can't grow/be stuck for next 50-100 yrs because fans complain and once again they listen when they should not this is where they need to be criticized our fans will never be happy....the bigger the better the smaller the smaller for a non ambitious club which is what this decision is make us a small club going forward....but when we can't compete financially the same fans will complain its the owners fault when they actively participated in cfc making less money aka transfers ect...all the big clubs are getting new grounds Milan madrid barca inter ect but our fans act like success is new to us...don't ever expect respect when you don't even believe you deserve it
