  • The Samsung QN800A Neo-QLED is a great 8k TV positioned in a value spot between the QN900A and the 4k QN90A. But how does it really look in a bright room on the slim fit mount and with the One Connect Box hidden behind the fireplace that this TV is mounted over? #QN800A #NEOQLED

I always think people tend to have their screens too high on the wall. Personally, I'd want it lower, closer to head height, when sitting.

It’s because of aesthetics. They probably think it looks better when it’s higher up the wall vs having it at a more practical height.

*I've had the Q800T 75" for roughly ½ year now. It's a superb TV. Recently I purchased the Panasonic UB9000 4K UHD Blu-ray Player. I can honestly say that for once I'm thoroughly satisfied with what I have. I still believe that eventually 8K will become the "new" HD standard but for now seeing a true native 4K image leaves me 100% satisfied. For audio I'm using the LG SN11RG Soundbar System.*

2:10 Yes, contractors don't always do what is necessary for all your electronics needs, and they almost never wire a house fully (just the basics). If you are building a home like this with a custom home builder, or even with a basic cookie cutter home builder, get your AV/smart home company involved from the very beginning of the design process. Future proof the home to the best you can right now. If you don't want something in a particular room, wire the room anyways. You might want something 5 years later, and you'll be happy the room is ready for it. The up front cost is way cheaper than tearing up walls and wiring later.

That is my only regret I wish I went bigger; for my movie 🎬 nights. I also need to know if the whole TV needs to come off the wall to remove the one connect box? I hate seeing the wire. I was checking out some new spec homes and I noticed all the TV's were mounted over the fire place. I asked the salesman/realtor why are they still designing homes with the TV over the fireplace or the fireplace in the middle of the wall and the TV nook in the corner. He told me they now sell TV mounts where you can pull down the TV so it swings down in front of the fireplace so you can view it at eye level. Haven't seen it yet but sound like a great idea.

Very nice looking TV wall mounted, however, I don't get why people like their TV up so high. When you're standing up it's fine, but when you're sitting down for long periods of time like watching a movie, your eyes will dry out quickly because you're looking up. Ideally, you want the centre of the screen to be eye level for optimum viewing.
