  • In this video I demonstrate a brand new piece of hardware 100% designed for the Amiga 1000 (for a change!) called the Amiga Parceiro. It is a beautiful expansion board that provides 8MB fast SRAM with zero wait states, a Real Time Clock, and a 2GB microSD using the Fat file system. And it is all completely compatible with original Amiga OS 1.3 for a semi-autobooting experience. MORE INFO: www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.p...
    If you would like to purchase an Amiga Parceiro, contact David Dunklee at Amiga.Parceiro@outlook.com and be sure to mention that AmigaLove sent you. This will put you in line for when he makes more AND you’ll receive a ~20% price discount bringing it to down to $195 US + shipping & handling.

    In Europe, we have had these solutions for the A1000 for many years. But this looks sleeker than your previous solution! In 2004, I had sort of the same - Zorro sidecar expansion with SCSI and Zipdrive. Don't hesitate to upgrade to KS/WB3.1, it unlocks a world of software!

      I think he went the FAT32 route specifically so his PC could understand the microSD for very easy file swapping between the two environments. To be honest I didn't even know that driver existed on Aminet before this device showed up. Pretty cool!

      @@AmigaLove most of its competitive products use the same fat 95 operating system, but they use it for the secondary card. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I think this could be the end of a chain. So let's say you have a Starboard, or other expansion ram board. First! Funny I just read about this on Particles. :) Love it! Now if only someone could work on the A1K Chip RAM problem. I know that is in the same category as the Rejuvenator.

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  Před 3 lety +2

      Hah! You probably read my post about it, yeah. The Rejuvenator does take care of the chip ram problem entirely. The hard part is 1) sourcing the Rejuvenator board (that's been taken care of, btw) and 2) sourcing an A3K Agnus if you want 2MB of chip. Getting an Agnus for 1MB chip is a lot easier. I've been on a team for nearly 3 years reverse engineering the Rejuvenator. The entire thing has been done - EXCEPT - for 4 pal chips that are read protected. If we could ever unlock those algorithms, more Rejuvenators could be built, which we have explicit permission to do.

    I've been hoping to see something on the A1000 once I found your channel. I have one in my garage and would love to upgrade it. Would you, please, give a list of products to accomplish this? Thanx!

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  Před 3 lety +1

      Right off the bat, if you have a stock A1000, this new device would allow you to do a lot with that machine. It would give you the hard drive storage and RAM you could have only dreamed of in 1986 or whenever you got your Amiga. And, you'll be able to reduce your boot-up process from 2 floppy disks down to 1.
      Now, should you feel ambitious, you could also get a Kickstart ROM board for the inside of the machine to further speed up the bootup process and have the Kickstart chip all the other Amgias got starting with the 500 and on. I can help you figure out how to get one of those if you're wanting to go that route as well.
      More chip RAM is the holy grail for the A1K, and part of the Rejuvenator project I've been a part of for the past 3 years. We're very close, but hitting that final half-mile has been the hardest part of the entire marathon.

    • @Abrothers100
      @Abrothers100 Před 3 lety +1

      This looks cool and worth the small fee to have one! Hands down the best game charger add on to the 1000 that I have found is the aca500+.

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  Před 3 lety +1

      @@Abrothers100 Unfortunately the ACA500 and Rejuvenator don't play nice together. Parceiro works just fine. The ACA, for the money, is fan-freaking-tastic. It takes over the bus from the CPU, so for purists that Individual Computers starfield can clench one's jaw. But it's kick ass, no doubt about it. For a "pure" experience that replicates the expansions from BITD, but just all brand new and better, Parceiro is the way to go. If you want an OS newer than 1.3, you probably should stick to an ACA.

    Will this work with a vampire attached?

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  Před 3 lety

      I've no idea. Maybe? Although, would you really need it at that point? The Vampire takes over the entire machine and gives you everything this expansion ever could, and way more. I think the only thing you'd gain is the RTC. The Parceiro is more the 2020 spiritual successor of the original expansions from the mid-80s. It's more a modern reinterpretation of the old ways in a brand new form factor. It lets your Amiga 1000 still act like it did back in 1986, just in a much smaller, more stable package (with a ton more RAM/HDD storage compared to the typical 1MB RAM, 20MB HDD options from back in the day).
