  • I picked this set up from a man who was moving to the Philippines in a few weeks. His hobby was restoring antique woodworking tools but he was also a backyard mechanic so you never know what may be inside these boxes. Let's get busy!

    Nice score on the tools you bought. I have a 1/2” electric drill looks very similar to yours. Mine is a Skill brand it’s very powerful. Mine will break fingers if you’re not careful. I always use the loop handle that came with it, so I always use it both hands on while operating.

      Thanks! Yes, good advice! Especially when using a hole saw or something like that, these drills can fracture your wrist easily. I don't recall if I found that handle in the box or not but I do have a spare.

    I hope your house is built on firm ground otherwise the tons of tools and tool boxes in your possession may cause sinking. 😉

    At 27:50, that is a body dolly used for repairing dents in car bodies, fenders, etc. It is held behind the metal that is being lightly hit with the body hammer to better control what the hammer is doing.

    If I seen this ad I definitely would have passed. Some nice gems in here at least. The SK Lectrolite stuff is neat. That branding wasn't made very long so it's a bit hard to find.

      Funny you say that. With almost no info and at $400 I did pass on it for two weeks before finally deciding to go see it.

    That tool at 32:50 is made for removing and installing dog-dish hubcaps. The hook removes them, and the rubber part is used to install them.

    To Think this listing had NO Photos of the included tools. There you have it folks! 😂. Awesome!
    A middle box to boot which had the most loot!

      Thanks! This one proved that sometimes you need to just take a chance. If it hadn't included the middle box I likely would have passed on it.

    Great hual. Have you cornered the market on used Craftsman tool boxes there in Florida. I'm looking forward to seeing the restoration on the Snap-on and the old drill. Thanks again for another great video

    I believe they call the bit in the box a Forester bit. It's a wood drill bit.

    I keep thinking that if you went through most modern tool boxes and threw away all the Chinese and Taiwanese stuff, the box would be mostly empty. Possibly to include the box itself. Yes, even if you had a lot of tool truck brands in it.

    • @floridarusticrepairs
      @floridarusticrepairs  Před 25 dny

      Yes, unfortunately. A lot of the brands being made in Taiwan today are decent but virtually nothing is made in USA anymore.

    • @floridarusticrepairs
      @floridarusticrepairs  Před 26 dny

      Yes, two of them. I'm still missing the #38 and the two smallest. I also found that there was a Lectrolite sales brochure stuffed into one of the wrench slots too.
