I have a question. I just started playing French Horn yesterday and its heavy for me. Now my left hand is very sore. is it normal? Am i holding it wrongly? Im like carrying all the wait using my left hand and my right just sits inside the bell. Im sitting down and i put the bell on my knee...
It is normal for it to be sore. You’re holding a heavy piece of metal in front of your body! Now, ask your teacher to double check. But it could be your body just needs to get used to it.

if you are the same guy that I said when flat on the sustain esp. at the end of the note, then you've definitely improved (maybe I was looking at an earlier video from years ago...) but I'm not hearing that now, and this is a later video. I just wish at the end of the choruses you would have done the bar of double tongue 16ths that one hears in the original brass section.

Warm up books are always good because eventually you will get there and they build range and rythm
Just don't do anything from a book that's out of your range or abilities or if it makes your lips hurt
