This could have been a 3 hour interview. Mugs brought up several topics that could have been fleshed out. He mentioned Kendall Gill twice. Gill was one of two Jordan prototypes before Kobe. The other was Harold Minor. Gill was nasty!! You asked about Len Bias but he didn't expound. At the time the debate was Jordan vs Bias with many saying Bias was better. Not in my book but that was the frenzy. I know it was a little before y'all's time though. Lastly, he touched on guys not being able to post him up. The mistake players made was trying to post up him and Spud because they were short. It never worked. Guys with no post games trying to post, then they missed, got ripped, entry pass got stolen, etc. Basically an automatic turnover but guys never learned NOT to post the King 5 footer! Great interview!

I know Muggsy has a million stories, but one I remember is when he went to Five Star ( which was the premier camp prior to ABCD and Nike).Muggsy was being Muggs.Just a defensive juggernaut stealing the ball and running the break with flair.Rick Pitino during one of his " stations" made a comment to the effect: we have some players who like to go behind their backs and between their legs, but that's not the style of play we do here etc.( he was talking about Muggsy)I think Pitino was coaching at Providence at the time.I think Muggsy got the Best Playmaker and Best Defender award. When he went back to Baltimore, among the numerous college letters was one from Providence.Muggsy didnt even open it and threw it straight in the trash. After Pitino tried to diss him, he knew he would've tried to change Muggsy's game for the worst.Im just sorry Big John ( R.I.P) didnt sign Muggsy.Georgetown was a defensive terror back then.Muggsy stealing the ball and Ewing blocking them inside. They would've gotten another chip

People can say there will never be another MJ, but I guarantee you, there will be another MJ before there's another Muggsy.Muggsy is and should be an inspiration to all of us who've been told" MAN, you can't do that" Muggsy's other nickname should be YES I CAN.
