About FNF
Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player must pass multiple "weeks", each usually containing three songs.[note 1] Each week, the player typically faces a different opponent.
During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes which the player must mirror by pressing the arrow keys or WASD. At the bottom of the screen is a bar indicating how well the player is doing. The left side of the bar is red, representing the opponent. The right side is green, representing the player. Successfully hitting notes will increase the size of the player's bar, while missing notes causes the opponent's bar to expand. The player fails if the opponent's bar fills up the entire bar.
For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases and the patterns of arrows become more complicated. The player's high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen.

Fun fact: the depressed luigi is from a scrapped ending in Luigi's mansion where if you fail to save mario you get the bad ending and luigi is depressed but it was scrapped due to it being too dark
But the Luigi I'd still used for the game over screen.
Unfortunately I'm gonna have to burst your bubble, the official space world demo and by that I mean the exact disk that was used at the convention was found, when people played it they found out depressed luigi was unused in it, A little while after somebody with official sources confirmed it was only an animation used to advertise the game it was never actually intended to be in the game from the very beginning, So unfortunately it was just another rumor/theory that God accidentally mistaken for a fact

The Wario apparation is a character form the “Every copy of super mario 64 is personalized” Creepypasta/Meme. It was first made as a parody of video game urban legends but eventually became more serious.
4:22 the blue marios aka drowned marios are actually a level from the orginal creepypasta where mario ends up underwater and becomes invincible, and you will see so many drowned marios that chase you or just stays dead. when you eventually make it to the end, you will just a see a menacingly creepy mushroom that just stares at you. i really wanna explain the other stuff but im kinda lazy. (sorry for my grammar)
5:32 to elaborate more so on The Wario Apparition, it’s a combination of an old Nintendo event showcase (I wanna say Spaceworld but idk) where a floating Wario head hyped up the viewers for the upcoming show hence the “you want fun? Wario show you fun line.” This was eventually combined with several fake facts about Easter Eggs/betas of Mario 64 ie L is Real where some people claimed it was possible to encounter a Wario Easter Egg or hinting that it was in a beta build which eventually became the “Every copy of Mario 64 is personalized” meme/sub genre. Plus if you lose to Wario, it’ll give you an “anti piracy” screen instead of the traditional game over as a reference to that sub genre that got popular around the same time thanks to the Mario Party DS Anti Piracy videos.
Also, his left pose contains his hypnotism eyes from the Super Mario Land 2 commercial.
One of the fifth characters to laugh in their song is fleetway sonic
4:34 according to me, the Luigi in this song appears to be based off the beta game over screen for Luigi's mansion.

so this flash came from the screen, and nobody was there to help poor Lucas, so he died

there are def some in the sonic.exe mod. eggman a few times in triple trouble, sonic also laughs in too slow before the beat drops and all throughout you cant run. fleetway sonic laughs in chaos, and sunky has spongebob's laugh in milk(sorry if i get any names wrong btw, its been a bit)

The green mushrooms in the first song are actually from a mario exe game were luigi has to avoid mario and in one part if you touch a mushroom luigi keels over vomits blood up and dies
Another fact about this, Pretty sure the Poison Shroom arrows (and possibly the Mario.exe in the first song) are from the popular Parody like Mario.exe by CoolRash. A well made troll game that still gives effort to be absurd horror. And the Poison Shroom are obstacles in the 2nd level in which touching them makes Luigi vomit blood and die.
