Paul McCartney has always had a special ability to find unique and timeless melody tracks. This is no exception.
Let's hope he still has it when he releases what he's written for - 'It's A Wonderful Life'
Agreed. A true genius 😚😚
As well as Duran Duran with their Bond song !
ye
I 100% agree with you.
You can let him live, you can let him die, but one thing's for certain, there's only one Paul McCartney.
(I apologize for the cheesy line)
This song was up for an Oscar. I think it should have won.
it won a Grammy
It was also made by one of the most famous rockstars
I mean it's good but The Way We Were is Streisand at her best and thats says something. At least it lost something also great
@@karmicobsession1636 yeah it's just sad that Writings on the wall has one but this doesn't. I know the Oscars don't work like that
@@Auradragonus Who??
Theme is so 70's, perfect for the era.
I agree they got bad in late 80s
It a good theme song!!! :)
Suspiria10 m. Jjeàae
+Suspiria10 I would say late 90s, in the late 80s and early 90s there was still incredible music
Sophie Morgenstern I agree
That flaming skull scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
Me too 🤣
I was terrified of it as well!
Same
Me too lmao
Dude. Me too. It terrified me. And the huge robot from the Queen album.
This is an extremely accomplished song. It shifts mood, pace, style and rhythm. Not many had the audacity to write something like this.
I totally agree with you. But McCartney doesn't even know words like fear or audacity. He just doesn't care, he could write grannies songs, then invent hard rock, write the greatest ballad of all time, compose a james bond theme, make a pop hit with Michael Jackson, write a scottish national anthem, compose funk or country classics. The man is just totally crazy and probably had the greatest range in the history of music. Pure genious.
@@zaziou711 well said... He's also a very good live performer... Even now 🎶🎶
What you said 👏👏👏
Dédé it's called talent which most today can't even come close to this.
@@joedaoust5942 true
Easily one of the best Bond themes.
+gryndkor absolutely
it's my favorite
+gryndkor skyfall is good too
+gryndkor Yeah...it good theme song...also GoldenEye (1995) is good too!!! :D
does anybody else think that the ending song on Tomorrow Never Dies, "Surrender" sounds better than the Opening?
Paul McCartney- simply awesome.
R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore 1927-2017
He was 90 years old when he died.
What he is dead? NOOOOO!
Thx for ruining my weekend.
Rest in peace Sir Roger Moore 😔
I believe he was the first Bond i saw, and he was the one who "made" me interested in the Bond movies (probably because of his humor) but when i look back... he wasn't that great. He still has the record of most Bond movies, so... respect for that 😊👍
Sir Roger Moore, the best Bond.
@@PpAirO5 daniel craig is the worst james bond by far
i was fortunate enough to hear paul mccartney sing "live and let die" in person . . . it was a profoundly surreal and fulfilling experience !
The fire he uses!!! OMGGGG
Same here at sofi stadium
Let me guess, was it at the superbowl?
@@hworld9832 no . . . i went to his concert in minneapolis , minnesota .
@@axlheck1516 Cool story bro
I was 11 yrs old when this movie came out. I went to see it while visiting cousins in the "big city" of Jackson, Mississippi. I couldn't believe what a great movie it was. When I came back home to small town TN I took my best friend to see it again. I drove him crazy through the whole movie. Every time it came to another scene I would say, "Oh Joey! Watch this ! ! ! ! ! Oh Joey!! This is the best part ! ! !! (I said that about 1000 times.) Poor Joey coudn't enjoy the movie for me running my mouth. He finally got up and moved to the other side of the theatre. I didn't care. I went with him.
Shhhhh!
Rip Sean Connery 007 never dies

RIP Roger Moore, never expected he would leave the world, though he is oldest bond living till 2017. He left his art behind which pleases and wins billions of hearts in the world.
@@ChangingTides777
Weird, isn't it? A living being is being born and then at some point leaves our world. It sure has never happened before!
@@Zycthe No he didn't..... Roger Moore was 89 when he died and Sean Connery was 90 when he passed
In my opinion the best Bond song.
Best bond theme of all time RIP Roger Moore
No it isn't.
@@Dermacrosis then what is
@@seanorsomething That is down to personal interpretation. Whet you think is the best Bond theme I may not and what I think is the best one you may not.
That is why no one can state what is the best Bond theme with any totality. It is only possible to state which is the worst and that was by A-Ha.
However it is easy to state which singer of Bond themes is the best. That is Shirley Basey by the way as she is the only one who has been asked to record a Bond theme twice and thrice. No one else has even been asked to sing one a second time.
@@Dermacrosis Oh poor thing, your comment does not make any sense. "Personal interpretation is what is best....still everybody knows what is the worst.... but singer then again can be said...." Oh man, you need a good cry and a hug. Don´t take things too seriously. Best of luck.
This is by far, the best Bond song.
Gabriel Coronado I agree with you there
Gabriel Coronado Yep! And Goldfinger! And the guitar riff on the James Bond theme!
macduggles You are right!
My favourite is licence to kill
The best is the License To Kill theme
Sir Paul McCartney’ beautiful voice

RIP Roger Moore. Once again a hero out of my youth is passing away :'(
Fire, skeletons, naked women, this is the most metal Bond opening ever XD
Also, Paul McCartney doing this theme song is pretty ironic when you remember Bond once said “that’s as bad as listening to The Beatles without earmuffs.” Granted that was a different actor but the irony still stands
And this song seems to describe the transition a bleeding heart liberal makes when they are hit with harsh reality. You used to say live and let live.
You are so right-this is a sterling Bond theme and no mistake.
@@SydneyCarton2085You people are obsessed with the boogeyman of “liberals” it’s pathetically hilarious
I wish the modern James Bond themes were half as well performed/epic as this movies theme. There’s a reason why most Bond fans love Live and Let Die. It’s one of the funniest movies, has some of the most compelling villains, doesn’t take itself super seriously, and it’s honestly has the most rewatch value of most Bond movies. I’m still waiting for Bond to meet Baron Samedi again and having the Baron laugh at Bond.
True but Skyfall was pretty good but yeah the old ones are better
@the epic gamer Bruh its not even old
Lmao wut? Most compelling villain? He's literally a blaxploitation caricature who gets turned into a inflatable balloon.
Nah Skyfall Casino Royale and Spectre had great songs also
@@ripred42 Compared to most Bond villains Dr Kanaga’s plan actually made some real world sense. Plus you’d turn into a balloon too if you aspired as high as Dr Kanaga.
The blackest Bond film ever with a former Beatle singing it's opening credits...GENIUS!
you nailed it
I can't take this song seriously cause all I can think about is a dead frogking floating on a lake

r.i.p Sir Roger Moore you wonderfully classy bastard. My heart Breaks. Devastated.
I am sure that in hundreds of years they will still listen to this masterpiece
Best Bond theme ever.
Rest in peace Uncle Geoffrey Holder. 🙏🏽
First Bond film I ever saw; summer of 73. I was 9 years old. Drive-in in Upstate New York. Absolutely loved it. Still my favorite.
the best bond theme ever
This title sequence scared the shit out of me when I first saw it
Same
RIP Sir Roger Moore. Live and Let Die was your first and, in my opinion, best Bond Film. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.
Remember seeing Live And Let Die in the summer of '73 in a small town movie theater off the coast of northern Lake Michigan, never heard the theme song before then, but I never forgot it after! 3 years later, I attended a Wings Over America tour date @ Olympia in Detroit, and got to hear it performed live by Sir Paul, his late wife Linda and his band Wings!! One of the most dramatic rock songs ever and one of the best James Bond 007 theme songs!!
Paul McCartney: One of the most talented, incredibly prolific songwriters in the history of music. PERIOD!!!!!!!
RIP Sir Roger Moore. You will be remembered for having the most roles as James Bond. May all your friends and family pay their respects.
RIP Roger Moore. Star of the most Bond films. You'll be missed 007.
What everyone else here said: An amazingly classic rock song and James Bond movie theme, "Live and Let Die," by one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Paul McCartney, for a great Bond, Roger Moore, in one of the greatest Bond movies of all time, "Live and Let Die."
Amazing. One of the greatest songs that Paul Pc Cartney ever wrote.
One of my all time favorite Bonds. Roger Moore and Sir Paul McCartney and Wings. Doesn't get much better than that
Favourite Bond movie and favourite BOND!! RIP Roger Moore.
so nostalgic my dad took me to this movie when i was a kid..My dad R.I.P was a good guy
I'm so glad I got to appreciate the time in life when I walked in the theater to witness thus great film experience 🎥🎬🎞
Simply fantastic, one of the greatest openings ever
GREAT Bond song. Paul should be super proud of this one. Done without the Beatles and it's still fantastic.
produced by George Martin, so it kind of is a Beatles song.

The opening for this song has forever gave me chills hearing it. Simply beautifully orchestrated

WHAT A THRILLING SONG FOR A FANTASTIC MOVIE!
Rest In Peace Roger Moore, you was an very good actor. One of my best! RIP JAMES BOND!!
This is, hands down, my favourite Bond Theme! There are some beautiful songs, some glorious tunes, some wonderful lyrics, among the 20+ Bond themes and incidental songs, but none are quite this magical. This is McCartney at his best, as good as anything he ever wrote! (Yes, even with the odd lyric including the extra "in"!)
R.I.P. Roger Moore 😢
the Best Bond
1927 - 2017
I saw this with my mom, dad and 13-year-old sister when it came out. I was seven . During the opening credits, the lady whose eyes get really big/fire/skull montage scared me that I had to keep looking away from the screen until the song was over. Now I think it's so cool!
As a kid In the 80’s Moore was my favourite Bond by far, but now it’s definitely Connery, however love them both.
moore had his own style, i really loved his 80s charm . i consider, for ur eyes only, 1981 one of the best films. the spy who loved me is amazing too, and this film and 1985, a view to a kill
ahh the start of my favorite bond era
One of my favourite Bonds.
Entertaining film. Superb theme tune from Macca, one of our greatest songsmiths.
Omg this was one of my favorite movies as a kid! 😆
Best Bond movie ever. AND SONG TOOOOO.
The best bond film of all time with the best bond of all time. Rest In Peace Sir Roger Moore.
RIP Sir Roger Moore
There's only one problem with this song and it's that
It finishes early
Untamable Beast gentlemen finish last
Untamable Beast for your eyes only was 100x better
Agree. I've always thought this song could have been longer
But...
Untamable Beast I wanna make a sex joke out of that, but I can’t seem to figure one out.
Still one of my favourite Bond themes. Would still stand up as a theme today!
The music back in these films were so much better than the ones we have now the previous bond songs have had a dull sound but these ones just show how much effort people used to put in these films and each song in the original bonds always give that "umph" in bond and makes it seem exciting
My top three bond themes that are in my playlist: Live and let die, Skyfall, Goldfinger.
Meanwhile, Schaffrillas will have King Harold's funeral flashbacks whenever he encounters this song
Rest in peace, Yaphet Kotto. What a truly underrated talent!
Man i love that funky break in the middle of the song. So cool.
RIP Roger Moore, THE best Bond
Best bond , best film and best soundtrack!
Live and Let Die- my favourite James Bond movie with Roger Moore, my favourite Bond and my favourite theme music. Simply great.
This my most favorite James Bond soundtrack theme from the (1970's) and ever.

This movie doesn't fall too high on the rankings of all the Bond movies for me, but is worth watching just for the smoking hot 22 year old Jane Seymour.

An unbelievable theme song and the best of the Bond movies. It is nothing less than a McCartney special

The best Bond theme song in the history of the franchise. The film itself is the best of the Roger Moore Bond films.

Probably my fav. Bond intro song because it captures the malicious turns in a Bond film (especially when you are first exposed to them) when you feel safe the best way.

Not one of the best Bond movies, but certainly one the best Bond songs! Top 3 without a doubt!
This would have been really something to see on a big screen. I'm too young for that but if I ever catch one of those retro re-releases I am so there. Caught Star Trek II, Wall Street, and SW: Empire Strikes Back so there is hope
