Ran a KAT for years with no ECU/Tune in my drift car. Retard the base ignition timing to by 5 degrees, run high octane pump fuel, one step colder plugs, 370cc SR injectors and the key! A E60 Nissan MAF , came on Maximas with the VG30 and RB25DETs (y'all did the rest of the shit you need) I ran this setup for 3 years on an unopened KA, with a GT28R at Gate pressure (8psi) 11-12afrs at WOT, took it like a champ. KAs are alot like JZs, don't open them, keep the Nissan magic sealed inside. Head gasket will live if you stay under 10psi.
Poor Tommyfuckno had to change the name of his CZcams channel because he scammed so many people. His views dropped off over 90%... The last few videos he had under the TommyFyeah name he was getting less than 1000 views on them....

You should consider retarding the ignition map a tad by turning the CAS module to avoid knock, Under 12.5 afr on load is more than fine for under 10 psi
Get a real fmu, and crank the base pressure up until it idles at 14.00 or .99 lambda on e85 and it should be safe tune wise for 12+ psi until you start seeing 13.2 afr, I’ve been running a 2.0 aba vw for 4 years at 25psi with a stock ecu e85 fmu, and cranked fuel pressure
The ka is good. I've had many good experiences with them... everyone just wants a sr. The ka has more displacement and compression... with a good tune it can make even more power!
throw on a vortech sfmu this is adjustable fuel pressure that only raises full pressure under boost and is adjustable. this means you can set your fuel pressure regulator so you see 14:7 at idle then set the sfmu till you see mid 11 afr under boost and have the best of both worlds.

Fun fact that KA you are using in the 240 is a low compression truck engine that is why it survives gobs of boost fairly reliably.... Like 9.2.1 compression if I am not mistaken
if the car pre detonates it will bend a rod or shatter a piston. the head gasket makes sense but 8psi is weak youll be fine if your so worried do the old scumberto arp head stud change one at a time before it lifts the head

It’s nice to see a lot of time being put into 1-2 builds. It’s your stuff but imo you should get rid of the absolute graveyard of cars/parts at the shop. So much stuff that never gets touched. I’ll bet it would feel good to have a fresh start with a good chunk of cash in your pocket. Been loving the content recently though.
Just cut the vacuum line that goes to the wastegate and put a t in the middle that will up boost lik 2 or 3 psi with out that cheap boost controler on it
If you want that ka to stay alive at the 7-8-9 PSI with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator and jacked up fuel pressure you had better start thinking about adding some high-quality octane booster to the fuel or spending a extra couple of dollars and buying / installing a basic water methanol injection kit. Quite sure if you do either of those things you can get away without having to install an aftermarket ECU and deal with tuning it.....
