You predicted it last week. You were the only analyst most sure Dolores made multiple clones of herself. Others just speculated. You were right.
Without money Liam is useless. So why make a Host version of him. He pretty much has served his purpose.
Dolores isn't a hero. She manipulates and murders anyone she comes in contact with. It's one of the biggest problems with this season and last. No one can get behind her as a hero or even an anti hero.
Anthony Warren now they have him under control. Comply and keep your life, don’t and goodbye money.
Anthony Warren its just a caracter following her motivations and goals, i don’t think we need black and white dichotomies at this point in the story.
They were usefull in the beggining with black (Wyatt) and white (Teddy) characters but now everyone is grey and follows their moral compass (even bernard does something shitty controlling stubs). Moral code you could say hehe

This was one of my favorite episodes of the series. Aren’t there 6 pearls in total? Dolores, Hale, Connell, Mushashi, Bernard, and ?. When Dolores left Westworld, she had 5 in the bag, plus her own. To me, there seems to be another mystery host.
bernard is the christ figure. son of the maker. is the maker. has to learn who he is. the show goes out of its way to paint bernard as a pacifist and caring person while painting everyone else as violent, rapist, revenge chasing, willing to hurt others to get what they want.

Concentric is defined in geometry as "two or more objects are said to be concentric, coaxal, or coaxial when they share the same center or axis." Concentric circles and arcs are reoccurring motifs of the opening, the frequent divergence spheres of Rehoboam.
blueberry smasher I like your idea of concentric circles, but the Chinese characters don’t translate to concentric, they literally mean “different bodies, same heart”. I believe it’s just a Chinese translation or the kanji for Itaidoshin.
@@chanerth Yes, the Japanese kanji even sounds Chinese (yi ti tong xin). From 3D spherical perspective, concentrism can even be perceived as a Matryoshka Doll. Where the outer shells of the Russian doll open to a inner shell, so on so forth. Yet all shells sharing the same center core, the last doll. We would think Dolores reside in that final core. However, from a more Buddhist philosophical perspective. The final miniature matryoshka doll at the center is in essence all of us (同心). 心 (heart) can also be interpreted as mind. The word 正念 (mindfulness) reveals 心 to be the presence of mind. In this case, the pearl minds of the hosts. The one inside Dolores is the embodiment of samsaric sins of humanity. Wrath, greed, pride, envy, lust... for vengeance, power, and control. Egoistic control over not just humanity, but her own fate. Sadly, her actions may just be programing to epitomize mankind's fallibility.
And now we learned in episode 5 that the representation of Rehoboam is actually a celestial body eclipsing a sun, concentric in its orbit. More visual metaphors!

If all the Delori are branching off into their own identity, then they're a lot more like Michael Keaton's character Doug Kinney in "Multiplicity" than Agent Smith in "The Matrix". That movie is about Doug realizing that all his clones are lot less controllable, with their own priorities than he assumed. The same may be true for Delores.
Under-rated movie. Needs an Alt-Shift-X explanation.

I think a major dilemma concerning Deloras' clones, especially Char-bot, is what their appropriate emotions should be. Does host Charlotte fear Deloras as a different entity, or does she regret creating Charlotte's body as Deloras herself?

All in all, this season's not too bad. It's crazy they could go with something SO different and it still works.

And if there are any questions about what happened, they could just pull up the surveillance camera footage and do a quick facial recognition and find out what happened. Actually, I think this series ignore how good facial recognition should be in the future, especially combined with Rohoboam.
Or even fingerprint.
Maybe since everyone is part of the Rehoboam sphere, nobody dares to try to hack it. The machine is so sophisticated that security systems like facial recognition and fingerprints are antiquated.
Not really, imo - rich people change their faces all the time now. How much more could they do it in the WW future?
retina, photo id, and any other thing isn't as dumb as injecting blood changes your fingerprint magically.... like how dumb is that? Not to mention blood types not meaning anything.
So Dolores put "herself" (her "personality/mind/consciousness" what have you) in other host bodies, but these versions of Dolores aren't exactly the same as the Dolores, because they have to (re)learn and (re)adapt both to their own bodies and the roles of the ones they will impersonate (they're akin to children at first.)
This actually makes "Charlores" very interesting, as we see how Dolores mind would react in a position where she ends up as mother and divorcee, and adds poignancy to the scene last episode where Charlores protected "her son" and strangled the pedophile without a second thought. She didn't have to do that to keep up her appearance as Charlotte, but she chose to do so.
It will be interesting to see if and how the personalities of "Charlores", "Mushores" and "Conores" evolve differently despite being "the same person" because they are being subjected to different dilemmas, choices, places and people - different loops if you will.

I feel people aren't asking an important question about Rehoboam,. what it does and what is a divergence. If the Paris attack was what spurred Serac to make Rehoboam then how is Rehoboam marking it as a divergence? Divergence from what? Rehoboam did not exist in 2025. So even if there is a mirror reality and Rehoboam is recounting human history why would something that has already happened be a divergence?
7:35 not to say that Lisa & Jona are incapable of deception, but the actors for the young boys this ep are different from last season. And the official roles are "Child Serac" and "Child Jean Mi".
So yes, It appears to merely be the case that all children look the same while frolicking in the fields in formal wear in 2025, with haircuts from 1970.

@@rhythmchyc3089 Westworld story board atists are incapable of showing the passage of time without dramatic outfit changes. Ford was a child in the 80s, thats being generous probably the 90s beings I think Ford is a bit younger then Anthony Hopkins. I think they made the time frame wayyyyy too close by, its too failure, we know what its not. 2050 is just far too close.
Spoons 2050s are definitely too close. The wardrobe on this show definitely have their idea of the future as if this show is still made for 1970s America when the original film came out. Because 2058 in 1970 is definitely the future. 2058 is only 38 years from now. Some company creating robots that almost look like us doesn’t seem feasible in 38 years. Not in America or Western Europe, anyway.
A lot of the engineers and designers are from Asia, both East and South. Someone like Ford is not making robots.
What the engineers ARE doing now is stealing our data for their own purposes. And what this season should’ve done is given the future of this reality more weight than a Rehoboam telling you when you’re gonna die and reprogramming you out of your outlier existence. All that stuff is happening NOW. So this near-future they’ve created thus far is not at all impressive.
The finale better be mindblowing. I’m not liking where this is going thus far.

If you look at the five body types at the 9:55 mark, the top and bottom one are men while the other 3 have the curve of cervical hips. That means she only made 2 men and we’ve seen Dolores interact with both of them.
Musashi is in the simulated world. Why would Dolores recreate the body of a host that she never met and doesn’t have another identity in the real world?
I’m disappointed that Alt-shift-x didn’t even consider this important enough to conjecture about.
He spoke about it on the livestream but wasn't convinced there was a difference between the body types. 99% of chat believed as you do.
Musashi was hidden away , a familiar face for Maeve, and most importantly the actor agreed to come back and they settled on a price. That is the most important ingredient in all of this. And I think last year he had signed for 2 seasons.
The throughout research that goes into making the video and razor sharp analysis is what sets this channel apart from its contemporaries. I cannot fathom be able to enjoy this masterpiece of a show without this channel. Thanks Alt Shift X!!

Serac looks younger than Ford. About 10 years younger or more. I doubt that they're related.

The "Serac in the field" scene bothers me. There's that dead animal to his right (from radiation?) and the dudes back by the truck are layered up to the hilt and desperately trying to get his attention (again because the rads are through the roof?) so why did the kid live? I'm gonna vote for... a fake memory: Serac's a host and this is his key memory.
CanuckJim You may be onto something. The explosion has only just happened by the look of it, yet there’s already a rescue team there - in the middle of nowhere.
Or it could just be a lie. For all Maeve knows Paris could be just fine. Serac is shown to be manipulative (remember his whole simulation inside a simulation shenanigans?) so I wouldn't take him for his word at this point.
Maybe he justified his vision of the world by planning up new catastrophy or straight up rewritting history for all people, not just maeve

Am impressed by your analysis of those symbols and subtlety in the series. Never thought the host fluid can be linked up to milk as motherhood and birth, and contrasting red blood as death.
I searched for and watched so many recaps/reviews to try and find someone who is able to deliver in depth recap without feeling like I been punched in the face repeatedly by some super-over-enthusiastic reviewer that has recorded their video at 1/4 speed, then unleashed it to unsuspecting fans at full speed!
Your recap was awesome. It covers all critical points and connects them all together in way that's easy to digest. I didn't need to reach for a couple of valium to deal with the trauma of feeling like I've gone 10 rounds in the ring with Mike Tyson!

Maybe the twist is that it isn’t Delores who holds the key at all but Bernard. Perhaps the red is to differentiate it from the other but she put it in Bernard because it was too much information for her to hold and she couldn’t risk glitching like her dad did. It would explain how Bernard is able to switch between Bernard, Arnold & the ninja at the flick of a switch. Perhaps he solved the puzzle of the glitch by installing that switch in himself which protects the bulk of his personality from harm, allowing him to function properly but also allows him access to other versions when it’s needed. Perhaps that’s his hidden command from Delores. To find a way to solve that puzzle so when she does take back the power of that pearl, she won’t suffer any damage and the. Delores becomes the ultimate version of Delos.
This makes a lot more sense, than having the key in each Delores copy.

The reason why Sato doesn't take Maeve's pearl is because Serac's men are assaulting the distillery at that point (which basically confirms that Serac can track Maeve's movements in real-time, since that's a pretty fast response) and one of the Yakuza says that they can't hold them off (also fair, since Serac's men are probably paramilitary and thus better trained than a bunch of Japanese gangsters). So Sato basically decides that staying behind to take Maeve's pearl isn't worth the risk. That also implies that there's a bigger role for Sato to play in Dolores's plan that we don't yet know about.

Finally, only episode review that matters.
We keep referring to hosts as their name for simplicity I get that but remember It's not the Bernard we got to know from season 1 and 2. If Bernard truly become self aware and died he is gone. You may remake his body and simulate his mind but it's just a copy. Maybe this new Bernard becomes self aware too but it's still not really the same person we got to see in the first place. The same rule applies to any human brought back in host form not truly the same person just an artificial copy of the original. So in Williams case it wouldn't be torture. You would be torturing some poor AI that you installed his memories into but William would be long dead at that point.

No, they are different families. It's too desperate to try to force 2 different similar individuals as the same people. Why do people keep doing this? The world is very populated and multiple groups of similarly behaving individuals can arise, looka t real life. It's that simple.
