    Banger of a tune

I've seen this tune played live and it's a surprisingly good banger, I hear they still pull it out for a go in their shows now and then. Note the small clip here of Bono reading the Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis. It gives a clue of their idea behind Achtung Baby! / Zoo TVs philosophy.

i"m a big U2 fan (I get people don't like them), that's how I stumbled across you guys. will check out more videos but so far I like your sardonic, truthful, parody, real style. Liked this vid, will check out more.

Appreciate it, the only thing you should expect from this channel is honesty lol. But you seem to be the type of person that can handle it

you've got to listen more to their 90's music then because this was their sound.

I wonder after what two albums they sounded the same. Genuinely curious.

I appreciate Pebble's comment ... he use to like U2, but then their music started sounding too similar to itself. Vince, however, just said that he strongly hated the band, but never said why. I suspect that it's the "The loaded music onto my phone for free, and I had to jump through hoops to remove it." It is funny seeing CZcams reactors say how they hate U2 (due to the iPhone disaster), and then listen to a song and are like "This is not bad".
On the heels of Pebble's comments, I think a lot of their earlier catalog is really good. Unfortunately, many people start out from a place of dislike (usually due to the iPhone stuff, which is fair), and they miss out on a lot of solid music. U2's been around for +40 years (inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already). You can't sustain +40 years without some solid tunes ... then again, +40-years may have them leaning into designing their music too much for Pop ... which I think is what Pebbles was alluding to.

A LOT of people (I might go so far as to say, majority of people) who hated U2 for the free album, never bothered to listen to it. Many of them just wanted to be included in the joke. How do I know? My evidence is anecdotal, but there were enough repeated instances of the same thing: This involves people who I knew that were outspoken HATERS of Apple, Back when U2 dropped the free album, there was a much stronger division/fanboy-behavior between Android and Apple diehards, These known Apple haters, would include themselves in a rant/mockiery of the free album, and claim they were pissed when they found the album on THEIR phone... Problem, is, it was only free on APPLE. There were also a couple of articles written that claimed the same impossible event - "Free U2 album" on their Android phone... riiiiiight, keep blowing out hot air. Goes to show, how much many people love to jump on a bandwagon, esp if its hate related.
