Bro, nobody gives a damn about the clean tone 😂
You don't buy a legendary ultra high gain, mega distortion amp in the hopes of getting a great clean channel. 🤣🤣🤣

Just checked the serial on mine and it's 3101 - so close to yours at 3065! Nothing like one. The parallel loop points to Rev G but the small badge points to Rev F so they're kinda like Rev F#'s.

I got my 2 channel Tremoverb head years ago after watching some of your comparisons. In the chassis of mine, it's signed "GM 6/94". I've added amps since this one, but being of similar musical upbringing, the Dual Rectifier was a dream amp of mine and has a special place in my heart. It sounds similar to this one, and the switchable reverb and tremolo is a cool addition

  • @EasyHeat

The best tone I ever heard was a newly serviced, and completely re-tubed single Rec 50 cranked thru a 1960 Marshall cab with Greenbacks. My guitarist (I was the drummer) got it after selling his Marshall JCM900. He later sold the Mesa for a VHT Pitbull 120 previously owned by Frank from SNAPCASE, and paired that with two O.G. British Orange 4x12's. It was huge. Sound guys hated us after that, and I preferred the Mesa 50 honestly, but like I said, I was the drummer. A very loud drummer, who constantly broke stuff: )

My first high end amp was a Mesa Single Rectifier around 15 years ago. I walked into guitar center and just bought it right away on a credit card my friend had, we had no idea what we were doing. The fact that it was a 50 watt really helped you push the tubes in a live setting. I think they were definitely underrated I have a Mesa Triple Crown now but I think I might pick one up on the used market eventually.

Hey Dude! Great Amp! I Just have bought an old Rev G, and I'm wondering, do you have a pedal in front at 4:45? or is this the distortion just from the amp? Mine could never sound that defined in that gain setting, that you have... mine starts to sound muddy with the gain after 12 o'clock...

Great video, Fluff! I also own one of the old 2-channel Dual Rectifiers. Mine, however, was made much later than yours. The serial number is R-011490. After I bought it, I called Mesa/Boogie and asked them if they could look up that serial number in their records and tell me what year it was made. I think they said 1996 if I remember correctly. I've also owned a 3-channel Triple Rectifier which I sold and traded up to a Road King Series II which I still have and I'm getting a Mark V in a few months.
To me, the biggest differences between the 2-channel Dual Rectifiers and the newer ones are:
    1) No dedicated clean channel. It has two channels and they're both high-gain overdrive. Channel 1 (the orange channel) is Vintage High Gain while channel 2 (the red channel) is Modern High Gain. Channel 1 (the orange channel) can be set to a clean mode via a switch on the rear panel, but it doesn't sound very good. Nothing like a Mark IV or V
    2) There's only one rectifier switch. The switch that allows you to select either tube rectification or diode rectification is a master switch. The newer ones have a rectifier switch for each channel.
    3) No Multi-Watt. Although, Mesa/Boogie did tell me that you can run it at 50 watts if you run it with only the center pair of power tubes plugged in. It won't hurt the amp. Remember, they're built like tanks. They were designed to take a fall off a stage at full volume and not miss a beat.
Like you, this amp was the object of my desire for many years. When Linkin Park's first album, Hybrid Theory, came out I remember thinking, "How the f*** did they get that sound?!" I was playing Marshall amps at the time and nothing I had even came close. It's a beast. Accept no imitators
In addition to having a new amp, you also have a new subscriber. Cheers!

And as we all know you have to push the hell out of a Randall to get it right, and then gate it so hard it chokes things out. My big question is, how hard do you usually have to gate the recto?I’ve played one recto in my life, sounded great to memory, but I can’t remember if it was a noisy shit like a Randall or not lol. I own the Rev D, F and G. The D is close to a Soldano SLO that I play too. The clean of the Rev D is shit. The lead is awesome. The F and the G are almost the same about the tone. The main thing here is the loop. I prefer the parallel loop for the Boss DM2-w delay (best for shred with a Rectifier) and a serial loop for the JHS PantherCub or the EHX DMM. The price of a Rev F transition in mint condition in Europe is around 2500/3000 euros. My Rev F are a Dual "Racktifier" with the chrome chassis and the blackplate made in 1992 and a Triple Rectifier black plate and chrome chassis too, but made in 1993. The serial number of your amp means it has been made in 1993.
What I'd like to hear from you now is the comparison with the Rev E blackplate you played a few years ago ! I never managed to find a Rev E... So ??????

What about the triple recto, it seems like there is no one talking about it
