- "The Godfather" actor Gianni Russo came through for another interview with VladTV, and this time around, he revisited some topics from his previous interview to clarify and expound on what he said. Gianni spoke about hooking up with Marilyn Monroe at 16, and he added that Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra were also intimate with the iconic star. He also spoke about working on "The Godfather," including a story about James Caan breaking his ribs during a scene, which led to Gianni speaking about his real-life feud with Caan. Gianni also revealed that he knows Russian President Vladimir Putin, which you can hear more about in the full interview above.

I find the snide doubters of his stories not taking into account NYC in that era: Late Forties/Fifties/Sixties it was the capitol of the world, and yes, someone with Downtown Manhatten Italian connections, good looking, smooth and tough like Mr Russo could readily have rubbed shoulders with celebrities, business, patrician families,nWall Street bigshots and just well known street characters. Such a person as a restauranteur (ie laundering money ), courier, and be in and out of major nightclubs and then Hollywood- not hard to believe his stories at all as there are many people, not connected directly in the mob orbit but at the center of bigshot Manhatten goings on. In the Seventies just as a regular kid I would pack a few cheap Subway tolkens and was all over Manhatten, Brooklyn, Bronx- esp. Midtown or Downtown. Even then, in the Seventies, NY was an amazing power center and you saw someone famous, having world class talent, (!my favorite :hot models, aspiring dancers, lonely looking secretaies etc) in the city - Midtown or Downtown- on a regular basis. Beautiful, intelligent classy women on the arm of a handsome successful man were everywhere- unlike now where it's all recent college grads and posers. Unfortunately most kids today don't get out much and everything is computer centered and tragically do not know the once greatness and power of a now falling American citiy like NY- anyone who was anything in the world was in and out of Manhatten.
