To be fair a lot of it is to give some context to the audience, like an assumption that the viewer doesn’t know anything about the lifestyle. It’s pretty common in interviews to state the obvious and then allow the interview subject to elaborate.

Not a big fan of vlad but he’s providing context as well as making sure what he’s saying is correct in doms eyes. He’s not telling him how the mafia works, he’s telling him so don can either agree or correct him based on his views of the life.
