The iconic actor shares how his dad's guidance helped him get past a bumpy start to his career and how his role in 'Superman' gave his career another bump start.
"You will bow down before me!! Both you, and then one day, your heirs!!" His delivery of that line still gives me chills. I've adored every film this man has done since.
he has the best Star Wars story about George Lucas not paying him much for a role and he received a very "special" gift one day which ended up being a Phantom Menace stationary set.
I loved Terence Stamp as "General Zod" in the "Superman" films! He was tailor-made for that role! No other actor could have played that role any better! 😎👍
Yes 👍 All the new Marvel and DC movies have British actors but they are all middle class Sad but true Hollywood etc doesn’t cast working classes anymore
Fun Fact he and Sean Connery were roommates before Sean became known as James Bond! His appearance on 1978 Superman was the first time that I knew of him! He is the Ultimate actor to play General Zod! The newer version of Superman in which General Zod appearance is undoubtedly a very close second!
It's so sad to hear of his father telling the young Terrance..that folks like us don't stand a chance 😢so glad he proved dad wrong.. persistence..it will erode all obstacles in your life😊
I know, right? The way he related that story, I was thinking his dad was going to say something encouraging. "Son... people like us don't do things like that." My heart sank. So thankful young Terence didn't always pay attention to authority!
Until now, Terence Stamp's portrayal of General Zod is one of the greatest screen villains of all time. Even if you can't take Stamp seriously anymore after The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
@Mike Oxbig Wow.... Amazing... How absolutely fascinating... Terence Stamp was born 5223 days after Marlon Brando. Marlon Brando was born 6161 days after Laurence Olivier. Equally amazing and fascinating...
All these years I had known him from young guns in the Phantom Menace. But also, you can’t not know about the who and Chris stamp. When I finally tied the knot that Chris was this guy‘s brother I fell off my chair
You have been known to disagree with the council before. Yours could become an important voice in the new order, second only to my own! I offer you a chance for greatness, Jor-El! Take it! Join us!
They don't mention it, but I thought he was terrific in Wall Street as Sir Lawrence "Larry" Wildman. On the funny side, in Bowfinger as well, actually! Love this guy
he has the best Star Wars story about George Lucas not paying him much for a role and he received a very "special" gift one day which ended up being a Phantom Menace stationary set.
He still makes e crack up in My Boss's Daughter, when he gets his ass kicked by mud, beer bottles, a mouse, a wine bottle, a bear trap, and a garbage bag full of bottles.
"You will bow down before me!! Both you, and then one day, your heirs!!" His delivery of that line still gives me chills. I've adored every film this man has done since.
He must go with jack o'halloran in ukraina to stop war as general Zod hahaha.
John D, I've seen him only in Superman II. I just found out he was in other stuff, surprisingly.
What would you recommend?

and perhaps even before 🤔 .. Billy Budd was extraordinary 👌

Nobody will replace Terence as the one of the best villian's as General Zod in Superman 2.
Michael Shannon did, and he was brilliant in his role as general Zod. He is equally extremely talented and he had the physique for that part.
The blueprint of what great supervillain should be
@@vardellsfolly5200 Oh please! Shannon is a hack actor not even in Stamp's league!

Incredibly underrated actor.
Kneel before Zod!!
ZOD!!!
Great, great actor. He was brilliant in *"The Limey,"* *"Wall Street."* General Zod was his comeback role, and what a comeback.
Wall Street….wow….totally forgot that. Thank you.
@darbyheavey406 Yeah, if I remember (have to dig out my DVD) he was Michael Douglas' rival.
"is there nobody on this planet to even challenge me?"
I used to say that to my little brother whenever I won a board game.
Superman who is this superman
KNEEL before Terence
I loved Terence Stamp as "General Zod" in the "Superman" films! He was tailor-made for that role! No other actor could have played that role any better! 😎👍
A reminder of when working class actors actually stood a chance in the industry
Yes 👍
All the new Marvel and DC movies have British actors but they are all middle class
Sad but true

STAMP!
He portrayed me best!
KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!!
“Revenge”!!!
How about the new version the man of Steel?? General
@@VLADIMIR007ISH haven't seen it
Love his voice which is perfect for a villain
I still say he should've had a small cameo in Man of Steel.
IK RIGHT?!
We at least got him voicing Jor-El in Smallville.
Don't forget, he was also Chancellor Vallorum in Star Wars: Phantom Menace.
Best villain of ALL TIME
I often kneeled before sod while landscaping.

Zod
😁😅👍
Oh sod it.
Zod it.
General Zod is my favorite villian from the Superman movies.

Terence always adds a lot to every movie he's in.
My dear Terence. You are the best!
Terence Stamp as General Zod in Superman AND the Chancellor in Star Wars. Demonstrates how great of a character actor he is.
Zod becomes Jor- El in Smallville
You will bow down before me, I SWEAR it!!
No matter if it takes an eternity.
What i found ironic was that he was the voice of Jor-el in Smallville.
I delivered a parcel today to him. I'm ashamed i didn't recognised him immediately but he had a familiar face. Very nice guy
what a terrific actor-much love, Terry!
This is one hell of an inspirational clip.
One of the best on scene villians ever! Peace!
The one and only General Zod...thank you very much...
Yep
I will NEVER see anyone else playing him
General zod best villian
True dat.
I love his portrayal of Jor El in Smallville absolutely fantastic actor!!!!!!!
Always enjoyed his parts he played
Underrated actor

areasevenpro Until now? What do you mean by that, may I ask? Are you alluding to the other live-action actors who played Zod?
Terence Stamp is the real GENERAL Zod.
On the other hand Michael Shannon is PRIVATE zod
Michael Shannon greatly improved his performance as Zod in Batman v Superman, though.
areasevenpro Bah-dum-TSCHHH!!!
Red Fullpack Human Terence Stamp, the ONLY General Zod.
Isn't it funny how really nice people in real life most often end up playing the baddys. What a great great job he did as General Zod.
"I was General Zod and Bernadette Bassinger." Probably the best audition line ever.
He stole the show and chewed the scenery as Zod.
He was great as Zod
My favorite line from Terence Stamp in The Limey:
"Tell him I'm coming!"
"I like the globe that glows red like our Krypton sun, but not this irritating noise. Make way." lmfao literally EVERTHING Zod said was gold.
Best scene ever in Superman 2.
Kneel before Zod and and then his hand got crushed😁😅👍☝
great actor
What a treasure, and lesson in longevity.
Such an authentic charismatic guy
Indeed, what an ICON !
Let us not forget.. he did the original Haunted Mansion movie with Eddie Murphy! What a great actor Terrence is.
One of cinema's all time greatest villains!
30 is the new 20s. It’s never to late.
Best General Zod ever. I would just love it if he got recast as him again.
Fantastic actor.
Cinematic history for portraying General Zod. Just a brilliant performance.
Great guy, so relaxed about himself. Breeeeeaaathe
"We have all of this without you, you cannot bargain with what you don't have."
I hope he makes an appearance on Krypton, would be awesome!
His role in "Genuine Risk" as Paul Hellwart and his memorable quote, "nice weekend?" was good as well.
It is so amazingly refreshing nowadays to see an actor who hasn't had any cosmetic work done. He's gorgeous.
He is wonderful
Just a bit of trivia: Ronny Cox was born the day after Terence Stamp was born. Both amazing actors.

Terence later returned to comic book realm in the Marvel film Elektra playing Stick-a hero character this time around.
