Eh I think it might be tied to abuse, no longer being happy, etc. not everyone goes into it thinking like that, but there’s plenty of people who prepare for it by getting a prenup done.

Marriage doesn’t mean what it used to, to many these days - sadly. You had no choice but to work through it. Roles were a man was out working 50+ hours a week (usually hard, laborious jobs), the woman had children, took care of the house, & usually took in others cleaning for extra money. Neither had time to go off & cheat, they worked through arguments & hardships, they weren’t surrounded by distractions so they had little choice but to enjoy each other’s company, ask about each other’s day, spend time as a family. People want to live separate lives but live as a unit, which works for some but not for many. Marriage is about team work. It’s sad that we’ve come to that though. x
