  • Today we are back with @KetchupTownVEVO hanging out in Nairobi Kenya. We will be discussing many things as it relates to the diaspora. One of the questions we want to uncover: Is LAGOS a better place for African Americans to return to or NAIROBI KENYA?
Also we will discuss how important relationships are in AFRICA.

This Nigerian dude should look for a way to do afrobeats so that he can be big in Nigeria and Africa. As a Nigerian myself, I have never heard his name before until I saw him on this show. Nigerians don’t listen to dancehall no more. Afrobeats is our thing. We listened to dancehall in the 90s but since the 2000s we groove mainly to our afrobeats. Nice podcast.

The Nigerian guy said 1 very important fact about Kenya. The politics in Kenya is more mature than most African countries, Kenya enjoyed stability in the 70s and 80s so when the transition to democracy come in the 90s it was centered on giving people better services and it has gradually developed to a point where the people dont take any BS from government.
Politicians are kept on their toes at all times and many even end up in jail.
Kenya is far from perfect but at least our voices are heard.

I think you have never been to Nigeria. The Internet coverage is the same as Nigeria's. I think that of Nigeria is even better from experience in both locations. Fiber exists in both nations, and 5G too.
When you say infrastructure, which one exactly ? Don't judge with Lagos alone. Head to Jos, Abuja, Calabar, Akwa Ibom e.t.c in Nigeria before u compare.
There are cheaper BRT buses in Lagos, Blue Rail now. Nigeria is very diverse.
The only thing that's accurate on your list is Electricity.

Reason is simple: Till we get our acts right, I'd choose turning people away over having to endure one more negative review and allied complaints that is almost guaranteed to follow from such visits.

There are issues with corruption particularly at the top, to be sure but tens of millions of hard-working ethical people going about their business. Nigerians are really making it big internationally coz of their singing, melodies all that..and kenyans artist dont jump in to waves or what's current or what's trending like amapiano or afrobeats .they just conservative with one or two styles that dont get appreciated internationally..thts the problem with kenyans and finally everyone in kenya wanna be a rapper, no body coming or existing wanna do real singing like the way Nigerians do it..am not comparing but those are just facts.. everyone just wanna rap but where are the singers though?, good melodies and stuff..thats my view

A lot depends on who you are and where you originate. For example, the East and Horn African diaspora, including Ethiopians, Rwandans, Somalis, and Kenyans themselves, is already part of modern day Kenya's tribal ethnic history so when we visit or repatriate to our ancestral part of Africa we already have our communities who are established and in many cases extremely successful.. In similar ways, we behave passively and reservedly which is a stark contract to African AMericans and Nigerians. Visiting Nairobi as an African American or Nigerian can be an enjoyable experience, but whether you will truly be accepted in a region of Nilotic and Cushitic Africa is another matter, especially longterm and behind closes doors.. There is also a growing dislike of Nigerians in espeecially Nairobi and Kigali, I saw it latest yesterday in Kilimani where allegedly 5 Nigerian guys had attacked a Kenyan woman sunday morning in one of the flats they ran from the bill and created chaos.
