On some of the Arkansas Highland impoundments like Norfork and Bull Shoals, texas rig with a heavy split shot 18-24" above a finesse worm makes a great finesse Carolina rig and very effective as well.

I’d love a video on lure weight vs the weight listed on rods and how they effect each other. Does it matter if you throw a 1 oz weight on a rod that has 5/8 max printed on it? What if you go over or under weight? All the juice on it please
My medium fast rod rated for a “max” of 1/2oz i throw a 5/8 topwater and a 15/16 swimbait
I’ll second that, great idea. Maybe even 2 separate videos. Is the rod weight affected differently with a heavy/light bottom contact bait vs a moving bait?

Great video!! Another thing everyone’s forgotten about that I do really good with is adding the bead. The added faint sound the bead gives off just helps in most situations for me.
Great video and a Texas rigged worm is what I grew up using all the time, I used a 1/8 sinker and mostly used a grape or purple worm and did fairly well with it just casting it out and back in. One lake that I fished the bass loved a grape worm with a white tail, they tore these up!!! Thank Randy!!

You’re right on point about the finesse trig, makes me realizes it now, I was catching more with light weight trig, and lately I upsizes my weight and I haven’t fought as much as before
My number 1 setup for catching bass anywhere in the country is a Junebug Finesse worm Texas rigged on a 1/0 offset worm hook weightless with 4lb fluoro and an UL rod. Works in almost any bank fishing situation! Definitely am going to try the side hooked straight shank though, to see if the hookup ratio is better for me
Was always my most productive setup when camping. I bank fished the entire time and always had one rigged up. My favorite was just a pumkinseed centipede. I have caught a ton on that thing. loved how i could work it through grass over laydowns and out of branches lol.

I've been dead sticking a weightless zoom 4 inch finesse worm down here in Florida! It has been working great! I have been using a 1/0 gamakatsu straight shank. It's my go to before a cold front hits. Then I switch to a ned craw or punching during a cold front.

I use an offset worm hook 1/0 or 2/0 for zoom finesse worm tx rig. It works great. I haven’t used straight shank at all for tx rigs and have never rigged point off to the side like that Randy. I go through the center of worm and skin hook it so hook point is ready to penetrate even with light line and spinning tackle. I generally use casting tackle for tx rigs though and 12 lb line. I like the 1/8 oz and 3/16 oz weights as well. Great video. I think the zoom finesse worm is the best worm on the market and the best bang for your buck.
I plan on trying the skin hooked worm using a 2/0 offset worm hook and a 6” zoom finesse worm with a 3/16 oz bullet weight pegged. Using my standard 15 lbs clear mono casting rig, it should be a good lure to attack shallow cover and lilly pads. Good luck.

When I was a kid I learned how to worm fish with a 4 inch Manns jelly worm with a 1/16 ounce bullet weight on spinning tackle. Gets lots of bites for sure. Good video.
Will have to admit the shaky head has made me forget to finesse Texas rig fish. It’s a great tool to get good bites!!!!!
Anytime I'm fishing around grass in the summer I use the 5 inch zoom finesse worm in watermelon red flake 8th ounce sinker not pegged. First time I used this setup was in Florida caught over 50 bass in 6 hours.

I like the zoom finesse worm a lot. It’s one of those ace in the hole baits. Put it on a shaky head,Texas rig,dropshot,Ect. I like the junebug,watermelon candy,and the green pumpkin the best.
Since you have shown the correct TX rig hook. Can you do a series on the type, color and size of plastic to use when and the times it doesn’t matter bc it’s a reaction bit. The weigh used depending on the cover and if it is pigged or free.
Texas rig will always be my “go to”. I’ve caught most of my fish on TX rig

A 4" Meathead Texas rigged and dragged across a gravel-small rock bottom in 7 to 15' of water gets them everytime in the Sierra foothill reservoirs. I jig through the big rocks also. Deadly!

I will sometimes texas rig a roboworm with a 1/0. My buddy asked “what are you doing, thats a dropshot bait” and I just laughed at him as I caught tons of fish.

Randy, I would love to hear your thoughts about the impact of the dissolved oxygen levels on fishing and on your fishing strategies. I have an unsubstantiated suspicion that the concentration of oxygen in the water on Table Rock Lake has declined over time, resulting in a dramatic impact on the fishing. We've actively fished the lake for over 30 years, and the fishing decline has been striking. For example, the shallow bite this past year virtually disappeared after mid-spring. We also no longer see the groups of bass cruising the shoreline like in the past. We are also seeing more gar than we did just a few years ago. The number of shallow blue gill and sunfish are also way down. I concur that over-use of the lake, including the devastating shoreline impact caused by wake boats, could be a source of the decline. However, I'm curious if you have a view about the oxygen levels in the water. This might be an interesting topic for one of your videos. Thanks for all you do with this channel.
I have a friend that has owned a lake house for about 20 years and their lot is on the main channel. Previously they had to do some repair work on their riprap shoreline every 3-5 years but now due to wake boats they are having to repair every year. It’s a private lake so I think they are hopeful wake boats will be banned, if not they’ll probably have to put up a concrete wall.
You mentioned putting fluorocarbon line on wet. Could you do a video on that?
Why not an offset round bend hook for the 4" finesse worm? Guessing you don't like as much but could you share thoughts.
Do you test your weights and lures for weigh ? I have and I have a cheep scale but have noticed a difference in the weights ,so my second question if you time is it important to know it’s a 1/16 to 1/8 .I’m not being picky just really curious,a gain thank you for all your information.

I used “Free Rig” it’s basically the almost the same thing as the Texas Rig, but instead of using a traditional bullet weight you’ll use a close-eye drop-shot weight
What knots do you tie with what type of hook and why?
they had those type worms in Florida in 1975 when I was a kid one of my friend's Dad had his own molds and would make worms at night and weekends. He had the first curly tail worms. We would clean the melting pots, burned the heck out of my fingers pulling plastic out that we thought was cooled enough.

Texas rig is king in South Louisiana! Throwing an open hook will get you snagged on trash almost immediately anywhere you fish for bass.

I felt I had to say this.. I used to really enjoy your content.. but your tone seems to have changed. Everything is mistake this mistake that.. couldn't you just say..
