- In today's quick tip, Brandon will share his methods of bringing in artwork from Adobe Illustrator into After Effects. If you'd like a deeper dive on the subject, make sure to let us know in the comments!
► Method One: Separate Artwork Into Layers
- Make sure your project is set to RGB
- After Effects will divide your artwork at the layer level, not sublayers, so separate artwork accordingly
- Make sure your artwork is on the art board, not the scratch area
- You can create new layers, and copy and "paste in place" artwork
- You can "release to layers" to convert each piece of artwork into its own layer
► Method Two: Overlord (Paid Script)
- Find out more here: www.battleaxe.co/overlord
- Create shape layers in AE from Illustrator
- Always compare your artwork to the original
- More complicated artwork may be better to use Illustrator files

I gave up on all other methods and just use Overlord. It's a huge time saver.
