Thanks for the kind words! Which mapcomp imagery are you using? Some maptiles don't allow you to turn off labels.

12:25 such a lifesaver. I've been wondering how I was able to pin some layers to my map. Some worked thanks to parenting it to the anchor null, but many didn't.
Pinning is super helpful, as long as you know how to use it. 😀❤

Hi! Great video! Do you know if it is possible to change the composition duration once the map is created? I made a 30-second map animation, but now I need it to be a 45-second animation
Yes indeed you can. Check the mapcomp settings and change the duration in there. It's listed in seconds.
So helpful. Nothing I pin to the map tracks with it properly - there's a lag like the pinned item has different keyframe interpolation from the map. Any idea how I can eliminate the sliding? Thanks!

Yeah you can actually create a custom label template that will pull this data and show it, you just need to know how to create the label. Search for geolayers label templates in youtube. The creator put one together, and he explains how it's done. The tutorial is for GEOlayers 2 I think, but it still works in v3.

@@BooneLovesVideo I have a traveling vlog and try to use some of this knowladge to make my videos more appealing, but Ae is still some black magic to me :) now I start the 4000km walking trip and lets see if i can apply some of that. This is a question I've thought about.. So if you do all these changes, like add custom layer styles, custom label templates etc etc. Do they remain on the map somehow? Or do I need to make all these every time? Say I make a map about USA and I custom a lot of stuff. Then in a month I want to do a map about Peru. Do I need to recreate all this stuff? Or will they remain some way? Might be a stupid question 😅
Thanks as always. You are my Geolayers manual! Lol. Simple question : do you use the maptiler maps? I cannot justify the cost seeming there are other options. Admittedly not as handy for some tasks. However, I was wondering what map providers you predominantly use/ and or prefer.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes indeed I use MapTiler, but not for everything. It all depends on how much you're actually going to use it, and if the specific job calls for it. If you're freelancing enough and using it, then naturally it's worth it.
@@BooneLovesVideo cheers mate. Hopefully I can justify the cost of maptiler 1 day. For anyone else following, you can use a mapbox map in their webstudio for free to do the same thing. The big difference is you don't get some of the controls within geolayers, you do those in mapbox and then link the map with an API. It's a bit of extra effort, but that's the cost of being free.

Click Share
- Under "Developer Resources" - Choose "Third Party"
- in Dropdown Choose "Carto"
- Then Copy the Integration URI
In AE Geolayers
- Add New Style {The Plus Sign) in Mapcomps
- A Box with "Raster Source" will appear
- Past into the URI field
- Click Apply
Is there any way to resize my map after creating it? Example: started my comp as 1080 x 1080 but want to change it to16x9. Theres no options under comp settings for it for some reason.

how do you animate an outline of a border?
When I try to create a route between two cities using the connect features option it says "Can't create route. Unexpected token in JSON at position 0" does anyone know to fix...
I'm facing a problem when I type in RTL Languages like Arabic, do you know how can I fix it in side GEOlayers? or if I can type the city name as a TEXT how can I link it to zoom and move with the map?

Can I select cities that will be visible regardless of the scale? For example, I want to see Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego in a general plan. And moving on to the close-up, I do not need the names of other cities to be shown, except for these 4
Yes indeed. You would just manually label those four, while turning off the regular labels. There are also specific controls for labels where you can specify at what zoom levels labels will disappear/appear.

This has been driving insane. GEOlayers isn't attached to my panel and I have no idea how to attach it. Once the window is closed, I no longer have access to edit the map. Someone help me.
After 1hr realized I can drag it. But once it is closed still don't know how to open it to an edit it.

Any one else really hate Geo Layers interface? It's a really useful tool but I can't stand how its set out. It's so janky and I don't get why it's so hard to make any thing look good off the bat. May be just me but damn
