I've seen the shot of Chani looking flabbergasted multiple times, but since it was in the context of a trailer I hadn't even really considered that it could be in reaction to the loss of our lil' Leto.. And that Emperor's ship looks amazing, I can't wait to see how they show it in greater detail on IMAX! Seriously this channel is making me more excited about Dune than I thought possible, I love the amount of work that you put into your videos it truly is some of the good stuff, you just gained a patreon!
Thank you so much for the kind words and for becoming a Patron, I appreciate it a great deal and it truly means a lot! I also can't wait for the arrival of that ship! Going to be an epic moment! I imagine it's going to be 10x more epic than the arrival of the Herald of the Change from Part One, and that was epic enough!
Yes you could be right I was super sad about that part but it looks like they will portray it in the movie so 😔
Loving the "our lil Leto" 💯😍
Gonna be gut wrenching if they do it like the book.💔
Let's just hope that the film hasn't been delayed to May 2024 considering the commotion going on.
🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
Hopefully they reach a deal soon.
Yep it's been delayed until Christmas 2024.
So even thiugh the movie is finished they can't release it? Until a deal is reached?
Just got moved up 2 weeks ! Epic
i did think it was Alia behind Stilgar. And she's already standing and doesn't react as everyone else rises
Indeed perhaps you're right.
Time lapse ?
I caught Paul's Jamis inspired chest thump and now that you point it out, it gives me some hope they won't skip over the funeral. But there are no guarantees, obviously, using Part One as a precedent.
"Wherever I am not, expect my Brother's judgement." Saint Alia of the Knife - The Arrakis Godbook
On Alia: I think it makes a great deal of sense for all those details including casting to be kept under wraps. If they revealed who was playing her the media could become so distracted by that story detail and how it will be created it could detract from the rest of the publicity, and since she is not a foreground plot element it's best to leave it as unrevealed for now.
It also will be very satisfying to see her kill the Baron like she does in the book, as a payoff to his line in the first film about the Duke's line ending. It's a dramatic opportunity I think they won't want to miss out on, and leaves Feyd more cleanly for Paul.
(Moved this from the incorrect video - sorry!)
Haha no problem! I'll take the conversations wherever they may be :D As I mentioned, I hope they're saving Alia for the true Dune fans who know how cool and creepy of a character she is (probably my favorite in the whole story).
@@secretsofdunethis is the most solid confirmation yet that Thufir is back czcams.com/video/lpJljWsmjQo/video.html
One of the best trailers for any movie ever
and Dune is my fave movie ever and part2 is gonna be even more completely and utterly epic!!!
Cheers Rali Bro.💯👊🏾

As always, amazing background info not found elsewhere. Thanks!
Thanks for that! Appreciate you being here and watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
You are my favorite source of Dune information.
Keep up the good work.
Very kind of you to say! Thank you, will do!
Excellent breakdown
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
wow! your videos are always so insightful and provocative
Thanks for that, very happy you enjoy these efforts.
There’s details in this breakdown that I didn’t even notice while watching the trailer. Excellent breakdown as always! I truly hope we’re able to still get press and the film itself released by November!
Much appreciated. Hopefully they reach a deal soon.
@@secretsofdune Love your content! I truly hope that the writers and actors can get a good deal that benefits them both greatly.
I’m wondering if a second deluxe artbook for Dune 2 is going to be published…Surely it will be too expensive and as surely I will not be able to resist 😂
Yes one is coming!
A regular "The Art and Soul of Dune Part 2" was confirmed at SDCC, but there's no word on a deluxe edition yet I believe.
Fantastic job once again. Gets me even more hyped. What art this film will be, at an even higher level than Part One.
I hope to see more Prana-bindu in Dune 2 as to inspire my training schedule. The potential of the mind body connection has no limits.
Absolutely. Same here!
Wow you catch so many small things, I can’t believe you saw the footprints being different in that orange fight scene 😂 Great video!
Haha thank you man, appreciate it!
After watching Chani wearing the nezhoni scarf I think it's safe to say that baby Leto is in the movie. SPOILERS
His death will make audiences hate the bad guys even more.
At first I thought that the girl behind Stilgar could be Alia but she definitely looks like a young adult.
Yeah, they have to "up the stakes" so to speak so I think it's in the movie too.
I also think that's a young adult.
💯
If they include scenes relating to this but not Jamis's funeral I'll be feeling some kind of way. Because both are depth enhancing but don't "move the story forward."
I agree! And I bet his death will remove any doubts Chani has about the prophecy, or at least push them aside in her anger and grief.
@@DunawayCreations That's a good point.
I really hope to see it in IMAX, part 1 was worth it
And Part 2 is pretty much all in the IMAX format, so it was entirely made with that format in mind.
Excellent work, as always! Thank you
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching.
Thanks for your wonderful insight!
I can’t wait to see this beautiful movie!
My pleasure!
Not sure about the hand swearing allegiance to Paul's bloody hand with the ring, maybe its Irulan accepting her fate as Paul's official wife? Still can't believe there's still no official word about Alia. Not showing her in trailers I can understand, but no news on casting? Then again, no news of Lord Fenring so I guess his role will be taken by Lady Fenring (probably Irulan also taking some of his lines?).
Yes the hand is a tricky one. Seem "younger" than who we'd expect should be in the scene swearing allegiance to Paul. It could even be a shot that wasn't filmed on the actual set and was filmed by stand-ins, but it does seem to match the lighting of the set created for the end fight.
@@secretsofdune Pretty sure it's Chani taking Paul's hand. Maybe even the closing shot of the movie.
Could be, but I’d assume after battle the hand would be dirtier and bloodier. Also the hand has a material sleeve, Chani isn’t wearing that in the end fight scene if it is indeed the same scene I’m thinking of.
Great analysis. What astonishing detail the production crew of Dune have gone into with those meaningful designs on clothing, weapons etc
Astonishing work. Thank you for this. ❤
Very kind of you. You're very welcome!
I love your shoutout to the burka being from the north Caucasus, where I've visited. Caucasian burkas don't look at all like anything in these trailers, but they are male garments in contrast to the burkas worn by women in some parts of Iran, Iraq and the middle east. Nice work on the video.
Thank you. Yes I think it's an important distinction to make. The burka in Dune seems to resemble the North African burnous more than an actual Burka, and it definitely isn't the female burqa people might think of. I'd love to visit the north Caucasus one day.
@@secretsofdune I wasn't aware of the burnous, although I seem to have heard the word before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's a beautiful garment, and one that comes from an earthly climate analogous to Arakis. I love all the details that go into the world building for big movies like this.
BTW, since we're chatting a bit, can I just unload about two little details in Dune part 1 that really burn my biscuit and bust my suspension of disbelief? #1 the palm watering scene. NO ONE would water a plant in the middle of the day on Dune. More than half the water would just evaporate before it had a chance to water the roots. (I'm a gardener, so this slapped me in the face.) And #2, when Duncan is flying to the station in the ornithopter, Kiens is watching him with a scarf covering most of her face. Just as the thopter stirs up a shitton of sand and dust, she lowers the scarf to expose more of her face. WTF?? Again, who would do that? I know these are tiny things, but it just stuns me that things so illogical slipped through to a final cut.
@@katehunter538 Yes and the burnous look was adopted by the Jedi in Star Wars because of the inspiration from Dune.
You're absolutely right about the point you raised. Also Paul not even breaking a slight sweat is what bothers most people in that scene haha. For true Fremen warriors though, the water discipline in the film is pretty atrocious. There's almost no point having stillsuits. They're more of an accessory rather than an actual suit vital for life in the open desert. In fact, the tent collected moisture and was more beneficial to Paul and Jessica than the stillsuit. They drank never drank from the suit in part one. I suspect they'll do that in part two, to show its importance. You're right though, the best time to water the plants is definitely not in the middle of the day on Arrakis, haha.
absolutely brilliant deep dive thank you .... until your research here I'd thought those images might have been of Alia but you have argued perfectly and changed my mind :)
Thanks Jeni! Yeah I think if there is going to be an Alia reveal, it's going to be more careful than simply showing her in the background, and if they didn't want to show her, they wouldn't have included her in the trailer really. Just my thoughts.
Oh boy have I been waiting for this video to pop up in my notifications.
🙌
@@secretsofdune 👁🗨👃👁🗨
That’s definitely me looking at the footage 😂
@@secretsofdune Have you been able to parse what gibberish they have Paul saying when he says Long Live the Fighters?
I think that this was a most excellent presentation.🙃😉👍🏾
Really appreciate that, thank you.
It's been a while since I watched one of your R.älí videos and it was worth checking out, so wonderful and detailed that it only makes me more anxious and hopeful that the films continue on the November schedule
Great job
Thank you, appreciate it.
Unfortunately for me I do wish to be spoiled.
Completely understandable. Still, thank you for showing up and being here.
Nah bro, nothings gonna spoil me watching this. Pretty much know the story just want the vision🔥👀🔥
Yeah I try not to spoil actual plot points in these videos as much as I can, just in case people haven't read the books.
@@secretsofdune that's why we love you bro, you cater for the new fans too.💯👊🏾
@@Sk4M_.RangeroftheNorth 🙏
Corect me if I'm wrong. But if I remember right, Alia doesn't really has any important role, in the first book other than killing the Baron, of which they could easily change his death to be something else. So I don't get what the fuss is about on her absence. Alia could be introduced at the very end of the film as a cliffhanger and still works? (but then again, they can't do time skip without Jessica giving birth, so she's gotta be there, no doubt)
My guess, princess Irulan?
I think the younger reverened mother was a David Lynch creation. If I recall, her spice vision was mostly voices in the novel.
I found this passage: "But Jessica saw that the Reverend Mother didn't think of herself as old. An image unfolded before the mutual mind's eye: a young girl with a dancing spirit and tender humor." The series did a good job.
I love that you mentioned that in the movie, they miss pronounce sietch! You are so right. It made me cringe hearing them say it wrong in the film, like an American putting the wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable while attempting to speak a foreign language.
Yes it's the same as Maa dee for Mehdi. There are a lot of mispronunciations in the Dune movie. Chani is the only one that doesn't bother me too much (should be Chainey, but is said as Chah knee). But terms like Sietch, Mahdi, Lisan Al Gaib could have been pronounced better for sure.
Wow! Great video
Thank you!
I don't know if that's true, but maybe a couple of scenes and dialogue in this were changed for the trailer, like they did it in the Part One trailer (e.g. "Do you often dream things that happen just as you dreamed them?" "YES!" -> instead of "not exactly.").
Now thats a friiggin deep dive
🙏
Since the Dune: Part Two trailer came out I’ve been to a couple different theaters and I’ve started to notice that (depending on the theater) the aspect ratio is different. Some are 2:35, others 1:90 and also full 1:43 imax. This makes me wonder what the standard aspect ratio for Dune 2 is? Is it 2:35 like Dune 1 or is it now 1:90 and it just goes down or up depending on the theaters capabilities?
The symbol on the Harkonnen flags here 3:08 is very close to the diamond shape containing a dot that's mentioned here 1:22.
6:30, is this where came from the intended function for the Egyptian pyramids in Stargate?
It is very rare for me to see a movie of a book I've read, and enjoy it. I don't read much. I should read more. Part 1 was absolutely amazing. I must have seen it 15 times by now. Knowing every aspect of the story makes this experience so much better! It just adds to the book.
2nd comment but i really hope we get the raid where they recover Leto's skull, I know they filmed a spice raid on Geidi Prime by the Atreides in part1 but didn't make the final cut.
In my head I imagined this as the opening for the movie in a Nolanesque sequence and it lives rent free.
@@secretsofdune "Nolanesque" i like that, and how badass would that be for an opener!! The way they did Leto in part1 really shook me and im looking forward to Paul believing in revenge even if his Father didn't!!🖕🏾👨🏻🦲🖕🏾
#Longlivethefighter⚔✊🏾⚔
Nice catch on VFX differences
Thank for that. There are also cleaned up footprints from the Feyd Arena battle if you compare both trailers, but it wasn't as noticeable as the other shots so I didn't include it.
Still no obvious sign of Alia, I feel like this will be one of the big reveals for the movie that will be kept until the movie comes out! Don't think you can portray the pt 2 events without her!
I agree, there's still quite a ways to go yet with promotional material for Dune. I'm guessing, a, third trailer, an international trailer and a lot of mini promo trailers which could yet give hints or actual reveals of Alia.
So the trilogy seems nailed on? The costumes and general colour palette look incredible in this, the richness and work that’s gone in reminds me of LOTR. Of course both have rich canon to reference. Hopefully another classic movie trilogy is in store.
Freya Allen would probably be good, but why not portray Alia as a child? Why take away the "wierdness"?
Can't say for sure whether, that's actually Alia, whether they cast her older or if that even is Freya Allan, but it definitely looks like her (to me).
It is said that the most difficult things to work with on films are animals and children. Maybe they're uncomfirtable having a child actor do on-screen killing hehehehe 😁
Lot's of uncomfortable things in Dune haha. It's definitely no easy task.
@@secretsofdune they know what they were signing up for. Alicia Witt was pretty brutal in '84. ⚔👼🏽⚔
cant have Dune without St.Alia of the knife.
For me Alicia Witt is going to be a tough act to follow because I loved her as Alia.
Bro, love your content, but why do you sound exactly the same as Mark Mylod, director of Succession??? lol
That’s a new one for me. I’ll take it haha.
Everything I missed is that teasing me with Dune part 2 and then disappointing me makes me not want to see it! Might reread the book which is far better than any of the movies and or miniseries combined! It is also cheaper and I dont have to wait for any disease or strike to delay my enjoyment! Warner Bros might do well to think on that one!
Interesting... 👍🏿
Thanks for watching.
Not spoiled. I read all of the books & re-read them.

Defo ShaddamIV swearing fealty to Paul and his Dad's ring!😘💍✊🏾
@@stefanschleps8758 I highly doubt that. He's got other projects going on before Dune Messiah happens.
Haha that's awesome, thank you man!
Please god do not let that be Freya Allen
It's not Alia.
Dude, read the books, the diamond is a symbol of to the imperium conditioning. Same symbol, dr yueh had a diamond shaped tattoo on his forehead in the first movie.
I know that the diamond is Suk conditioning in the books, but this is a hollow symbol with a dot/circle inside it, which is different. It also didn't appear on Dr Yueh that way. It could simply mean conditioning, but felt that because it was on Leto's shrine in the far future (after Shaddam) it had other meanings.
I'll keep saying it religiously.... star wars is dead. Long live dune and rebel moon 💪 💪 💪 💪
It was a fun 80's space wizard opera, but our future leads to the desert... I can see it
I am looking forward to seeing what Snyder does with Rebel Moon and I'll probably be constantly thinking of how it could have been a Star Wars movie and how Sofia Boutella could have been in Dune.
@@secretsofdune Sofia boutella needs to be cast in either dune messiah or another dune spin off tv series or movie that focuses on the butlerian jihad
I’ll accept her as any character in any Dune project at this point haha.
@@secretsofdune i totally agree 🍻 👍 👌 👏 💯 so hopefully if Dennis villeneuve is reading these comments it will happen possibly one day hopefully 🙏
Spoilers.........on a book wrote in the 60s.
Yeah, sadly I have to use the disclaimer for new readers or simply those who watched the first film otherwise they get upset and hate on me and the channel. And I try not to reveal full spoilers as much as possible anyway.
stupid and unnecessary comments
Another suberb analysis that also really shows us how deeply Villeneuve and his team understand the Dune universe . These videos are a great pleasure to watch.
