This is the best version of Et in unum Dominum I've heard. Thanks!
I also think this is the best version of Et in unum Dominum. G. Janowitz and H. Töpper's voices complement each other so well.
I love Janowitz's voice! so charming
I, however, wouldn't have minded a bit less vibrato and a lighter voice.
Increíble. Gracias por publicar. Lo mejor que he oído
beautiful
😮 nunca he oído una versión mejor. Richter es lo más. Y toda la orquesta igual.
GÖTTLICHE URMYSTIK IN MUSIK GEGOSSEN!
I agree with you The Berg 123. Best Interpretation of the Univers
Everyone has the right to express your own opinion!

Well, the title says "Bach - Mass in B minor BWV 232 (Karl Richter, 1969) - 8/14"
;)
When was this done? Given the hairstyles i'm thinking 60s, but - ??...
September 1969
3 years after Harnoncourt's recording with period instruments.
ha! oops - so it does... (insert embarrassed emoticon face...)
My favorit version is Koopman interpretation with baroque original instruments and with best singers like a Mertens,Larsson and Bartosz. This interpretation is in postromantic style.
Best singers ? This singers perform a vast range of music and not only the simple Baroque music (except Bach). The oper of Richard Strauss or Alban Berg are more difficult to sing than the oper of Baroque period !!
Urgh I absolutely hate Richter and his interpretation of Bach. This recoding of the Mass is so robust and robotic and that's not what Baroque music is about, specially when in terms of Bach...Bach's music is supposed to be light, fast and short (most defiantly in the bass) this recoding lacks everything in that respect. I think it doesn't help due to the fact that there's 67643 violins and they're using modern instruments.
Well, your take on how to play Bach is most certainly not everybody's conviction. One has to consider for which occasion his work was composed. Had you listened to the end you might have noticed that the Resurrexit for instance is lighter and faster.
I hate the new interpretations. Are always fast with no dynamics and the orrible sound of the period instrument make me sick !!
The real curved Bach bow used by his orchestras sounded much "rounder" than the bad sounding attempts made to rebuild the "original" instruments, which are just bad reconstructions. We could also add this: for the fact that one curved and more weighting real-Bach bow was harder to handle it would also be more difficult to play the pieces fast as it is today's dominant fashion. baroquemusic.org
What a foolish thing to say. Richter was the organist at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig where Bach was the music director for close to 30 years. He was a world renowned conductor, virtuoso harpsichordist and organist. Your musical abilities and education on the other hand, are simply mediocre. Intellect is invisible to the man who has none.Get your head out of the stars.
@@jamesbutler2822 Am I not allowed an opinion without being bashed? I didn’t question his musical abilities and never doubted he was an incredible keyboardist. IN MY OPINION the music of Bach flows and moves in a way that is more organic and natural when performed in historical practice terms. It would be ludicrous to question otherwise being that it is precisely the type of instruments and calibre this music was composed for. When you employ an orchestra of 50+ the music strays vastly away from the delicate and beautiful that it is most definitely trying to persuade.
