Kerala has been in the news this year- mostly because of the Kerala story. Based on this movie, Kerala was subject to a lot of criticism. Some said that Kerala is poised to become an Islamic state and something needs to be done about it. Yet there are people who maintain that Kerala is different from other states - That Kerala is truly the most "secular" state in India. So, what is the real Kerala story?
In this video, we dive into the history of Kerala and the relationship between the communities that exist there. We take a look at the local customs, traditions, and festivals and try to analyze how Kerala has been different from the other states, particularly in the north of India- when it comes to communal harmony.
But, that being said, Kerala is not totally free from communal violence- there have been cases of communal violence here as well. We take a look at what’s changing in the state and what could possibly be the reason behind this

As a person from Kerala, I would like to request everyone to understand that Kerala is a beautiful state like many others. Unfortunately, some controversies have caused people to develop negative perceptions about us. Let me share a personal experience: I am a student from Bangalore, and while traveling to Mumbai, I encountered an incident at the airport. I met a lady from Jaipur who, upon learning that I am from Kerala, decided to change her seat. It felt like she judged me based on stereotypes portrayed in movies, which is unfair to most Malayalis who are not like that. I want to assure everyone that the people in Kerala are diverse and safe. It's not right to generalize or believe that everyone is the same, as each person's actions should be judged individually. Let's promote understanding and unity instead

When this movie came out, social media was full of hate comments against kerala and malayalis. As a Malayali, I felt really sad. But now it is not like that, because I realized that half of the people in this country are full of the poison of religion. In this comment section itself, North Indians are standing to correct the Malayalees who say that Kerala is safe. So what I want to say to my fellow Malayalees is that we know how our Kerala is, what are our problems and priorities. Don't take anything they say seriously, just ignore all these hate .I am still proud of being born in Kerala and thankful to God that I was not born anywhere else in India.

@@Sanjaypatelxm why hate all Muslims? Many Muslims are also among Malayalis. There are people who happen to born in Muslim families but the extend of their faith is very different. Imagine people in low caste say that they hate higher caste people because of how they exploited their community. Imagine people in higher cast say that they hate low caste cast because they are ruining their opportunities through reservation. 'hate' is a word which can kill an entire nation. If now people are hating other people of a particular religion, what about in future when they start hating people of other states, other castes, other cultures? It's very easy to hate.
Don't generalise people. Imagine a stranger comes to you and say that whatever religion you believe in sucks. How do you feel? I don't think anyone will be indifferent if someone talks ill about their faith which they believe in from birth. Same goes with Muslims. Some of my muslim friends are non believers, they just take part in the community for the sake of it. (kind of scared to say that they are athiests lol,) All muslims are not very conservative. But I should say that there is an increase in conservative Muslims recently. One of the major reason for this is increasing anti muslim sentiments among people. They are forced to group together. I even heard some people saying that Muslims don't belong here. These kind of words will only make them hate our country and its citizens. One of the major reason for youngsters in joining terrorist organisations is this hate.

They are so used to the political conflicts in their states, they believe it is impossible, but what's worse is they end up making up or taking up weird theories of their own. My husband is also from North he has explained how he also learned this about the Kerala community after spending so much time in different parts. Kerala isn't perfect but the society we have achieved is truly worth understanding and learning from, for the rest of the country, especially today. That's also why Kerala is attacked so much by RW.

No kerala isn't "much" better.. Kerala is actually getting worse day by day.. check the statistics before posting such nonsense.. finance, crime, corruption, pollution, waste disposal, water distribution issues, electricity generation issues, communal disharmony and everything is getting worse.. I have felf that most people who say Kerala is great are either Muslims or Communist party workers.. I am a Muslim by birth, I do not have any party affiliations.. But I understand the problems kerala is troubled with..Muslims say Kerala is great because the narrative now is that Muslims are making Kerala worse, so Muslims try to counter this by saying Kerala is great. the same with Communist leaders. they have ruled this state for the longest and yet they have just run the state to wall.. I am sincerely sick of these "proud of kerala" thing, when most Malayalis don't even understand the issues that are there in Kerala. Most malayalis don't even know that the actual forest cover of Kerala is less than 25% when the forest cover has to be at least 33% for environmental safety.. Malayalis don't realise that crimes against women are growing in kerala. Child abuse cases are rising in kerala. Corruption is more institutionalised today than ever before. People these days have started saying "corruption is OK".. that alone shows how far out state has degenerated. Please stop making these stupid comments, just to make yourself feel good.

I'm from Bangladesh. One of my cousin is a travel vlogger, visited India couple of times. After visiting some major provisions, he said Kerala, Manipur, Mizoram are the best among all. The other states may be more beautiful on the basis of natural resources, but the behaviour of the natives, the atmosphere, the tranquility was overwhelming. He faced some difficulties & few derogatory remarks in some particular states. Once he was even told to get out from a restaurant by the owner just because he's bengali. The owner said Bangalis (not just Bangladeshi) aren't welcomed here. In the contrary some Malayali offered him shelter as there was no hotel nereby. They never discriminate knowing that he's Bengali.
Even staying thousands miles away, Bangladeshi people are well known about the beauty of Kerala & Malayali people's generosity. We often give example whether it's about education, women empowerment, cultural diversity, secularism & what else. I hope Kerala remains beautiful forever. The religious conflict may not reach there.

Even Amir khan makes serials, movies like Satyamev jayate wher he targets only Hind culture like rakshabandhan, karwa chauth but doesnt target his own monotheist religion. There is a huge network running this agenda. Hence m saying this is all done by foreign religions funding where Hindus r brainwashed towards atheism while others r made more religious a long term planning of reducing Hindu birth rate & increasing Foreign religions birth rate. Same foreign monotheist religions who hve brutally wiped out all ancient Polytheists pagan civilizations killing over a billion people. The state should actually encourage Inclusive Polytheists pagan culture and not foreign religions & if it doesnt it means the system is controlled by Foreign religions. Foreign religions use Hindu money to build ther religious institutions & infrastructure to increase ther numbers while same Hindu money is used to reduce Hindu numbers per 100 person. They some how managed our muslims neighbours phone number and daily calls them for my mom.

Christianity in Kerala has always acted as the corrective course to Kerala. They are the trend setters of Kerala esp., the Saint Thomas Christians locally called as Nasrani Mappila.
It is the Christians and Church who first started schools, colleges, hospitals, destitute homes, orphanages, bakeries, modernisation etc in Kerala. Later other communities followed its path. Then too, still educational institutions in aided and Private sectors are majorly held by Christians.
They started working as nurses which others followed later. They are pioneers of rubber plantation. They were also the first one to cross the ocean to work in Persia where British discovered oil. Along with gulf boom they simultaneously migrated in large numbers to Western countries which others have now started following.
Christians and Church even locked horns with the other agencies mentioned in this video.
13:59 First with the then reigning Royal families of princely states of Travancore, Cochin and its diwan for Nivarthana agitation, Responsible Government Struggle etc. Nasrani Mappilas were the first and the last one to remain throughout these struggles, and as the collateral damage the great Malabar Migration of Saint Thomas Christians took place.
14:34 Second against world's first elected Communist government, the Liberation Struggle of Kerala. Catholic Church of Kerala spearheaded the struggle and all the martyrs in the struggle who died by Communist government's unjust police firing were all Catholics. This ended in dissolving the elected government by the President of India. It's because of this setback for Communist party in its initial phase made them cautioned and gave rise to political equation for opposition against communism in Kerala or else Kerala would've become another West Bengal by now ruined by years of solo communist reign.
18:20 Third and ongoing is the cold-struggle against Islamic radicalization of Kerala. The future will determines what it would results in...
