It's me Scratch "the sun is hot" Bashing and I pledged to make a Warlord Titan from scratch. This is the biggest Warhammer 40k titan (that you can buy). Since I made that pledge I will do it... if I get called out. Here is a big giant plasma cannon arm for that titan.

The coil should be yellow
the coil should be blue
Electric glowing blue!
Blue is basic and overuse
Might notice easier here instead of random comments, the tool thing is called a vernier calliper.
This is a Sigma Titan, forging his own way, Go for a Sigma Purple on the coils. The Imperial Purple for the Imperial titan!
Or maybe its a Ligma titan? 🤔 Anyways I second the purple!
remember brother its Alpha, "Sigma" is the bottom bitch term Beta's desperately try to coin to make call themselves other than what they KNOW they are.
so true purple is the sigma colour
Big agree! I'd love to see, like... purple, fading through violet to white-hot blue?
Whenever I'm making engines or weapons that are supposed to be powered by some nebulous nuclear fusion device, I make them pink/purple, because that's the color that's emitted by fusing hydrogen. Look up "nuclear fusor" if you want to see pictures; it's a really pretty color
I was gonna say "Violent Purple"
The tool is a vintage Beaked Chomper. Looks pretty used, but should have many years of grasping left.
Grasping is an engineering term
Dude as a machinist, this crippled my soul.
@@cameronbennett1809 Same, it pained me seeing such a messed up pair of callipers on top of them being used to mark material (granted it's only on plastic)
@@lord_duckian9521 I'm probably going to hell for this, but i use my calibers all the time to scribe into material, including metals and after 7 years, i'm still using same set of calibers with zero change in accuracy as i sharpen them by diamond filing on the back side only. Those have become bit shorter but not a issue so far and i generally dont press down much, just lightly making the line visible, or using marker pen to color the area and marking that instead.
Just got to say, your talent for scratch building is phenomenal. Like, christ, this all looks so much better than the forgeworld version, it just radiates that circular old school style a lot of robots had in Classic 40k.
But for the Plasma color, I would really recommend Deciding on what paint scheme you want for your titan itself. That way, you can make the Plasma weapons color either complement the paint job really well, or contrast against it sharply.
Not seeing anyone else comment this, but the tool you used for scraping is called a caliper & the yellow part you thought looked like Prof. X’s chair is a weapon used by a toy for the yellow lion from Voltron: Legendary Defender
There it is!
nonsense! thats clearly a chompscratcha!
@@ScratchBashing watching you use vernier calipers as a scribe really hurt the engineer in me. Buuuut that’s offset by your insane creativity, keep up the great work my dude.
@@dbayles3677 they dared me to do it
@@dbayles3677 as a machinist, theyre literally hardened for that exact purpose. Its incredibly common on the shop floor to do so
I’m more for the classic blue coils myself. I also hope you’ll add in some iconography and Warhammer bits in just to tie it in a bit better to the universe, hell I’ll even be happy with a couple decals.
I think I‘ve never seen such good kit bashing before. You make it look so easy. I was convinced that this gun had to be 3D printed when I clicked on the video! Insane!
Sigma pattern Plasma Cannon aka: "The Sunfury"
The sigma pattern plasma cannon (nicknamed by the precepts as the Sunfury) is the primary ranged weapon of the Sigma pattern Titan.
built using a semi-understood dark age tech, the projectile of the Sunfury gathers particles and mass from the air as it travels to its target, transforming into a "small sun" (from the perspective of the average guardsmen) that grows larger and larger the more distance it travels, before violently detonating with the righteous fury of a small star.
while this makes the Sunfury a titan-killer at long range (provided the precept could land such a difficult shot.) the fact that the projectile has to travel a significant distance to gain sufficient mass makes the Sunfury all but helpless at close range engagements.
The mechanicus heavily encourages that a Sunfury is never utilized unless the Titan has some form of close range weaponry. (those who violate this "suggestion" are rarely seen again.)
Edit: in celebration for getting 30 likes, I have corrected the "Starfury" to "Sunfury".
The chompy clampy tool you used for measuring and scoring, is a set of calipers.
You mean a chompoclamping numberizer, right? ('kah-li-puhs'? Pshaw!)
@@harbl99
Yes, exactly.
What you said.
@@chaosjimthevoidlord3762 also a micrometer
@@Travasaurus-dn2zq
He only used calipers, I’ve used micrometers and I didn’t see one on the video.
But to be fair they can be used to fulfill a similar purpose.
@@Travasaurus-dn2zq A micrometer is a half moon shape that is more for measuring diameters, thread pitches, bore depths and such. These are just analog callipers.
1:21
That tool is a vernier caliper. They are very helpful at getting exact measurements. Personally can’t stand them because of how you need to be perfectly parallel with the piece. I find rulers and eyeballing it easier
BRO eyeballing things is the easiest shit imaginable
I just built a 8 sided square using foamcore and zip ties to make a airbrush booth (cus my room is small and full of screens)
I think I took ONE measurement at the very beginning to act as a guide for the rest of the build
Hooray for the Mk.1 Eyeball.
I mean if you're using calipers or micrometers your tolerance is probably in the ballpark of 0.005" You're not eyeballing that lmao

I'm glad I wasn't the only one lol
I’m so happy at see another video in this series. You are so great at this.
That tool looks like a set of calipers.
I can't believe how well these turn out in the end, It's genuinely such a talent of yours.
I think the main color scheme should be yellow with red, and the plasma coils should be blue to contrast with it color wise.
Are you trying to get him to make an Iron Man Titan? XD
@@Kain241st more like imperial fists
@@your_stepbro1756 Ah right. My bad.
@@Kain241st iron man Titan tho
@@your_stepbro1756 could be cool. Hut i kinda wanna see him not meme the paint job. : p
Pew pew pew
Given that it's so much larger than a regular plasma weapon I'd argue for more detail instead of "all one color" approach. Personally, I'd like to see a hybrid power sword/color gradient thing going. Start with purple at the barrel, fade to black, blue next color, fade to black, teal, fade...
May want to keep it all cool colors, or might look better with some warmer colors, but fading in and out a la power sword gives it a pulsing, charge up feel.
I looked at the title and thought "damn midwinter minis isn't holding back with his titles" lol
Oof!
it's fun watching you and midwinter minis build a titan at the same time
And Eric, he has the most ambitious project IMO.. 😅
3:18
That was meta as fuck he knew exactly where it would end
Blue is a classic, can't go wrong with it
Your 1-2-3 blocks are so clean compared to mine. What's your secret.
I left some of the weird oil that they came covered in on them
Alternate title: Insane Ork creates imperial-style plasma superweapon out of trash and toy parts.
That's crazy I just watched someone trade the mother of his children for a titan.
the grippy scratcher tool is a calliper . it's for measuring. whatever is in the closing jaws , it's inside dimensions are the gap between the back jaws.
Really awesome build! If you have problem with gluing those waxy plastic parts look up for _Loctite SF770_ Primer. It costs a fortune, but will help immensely and you don't need much of it to glue parts for a kit bashing project like this.
Could be an idea to de-chrome the chrome plastic parts, paint rubs off really easily from that.
That's a good idea. The primer I use has pretty good adhesion but we will see what happens!
The ending music to this video makes me think of Doom, so your BFG 9000 should definitely go with green for the coils!
The artist (Andromida, link in description!) has a whole album inspired by the Doom 2016/Eternal soundtrack. He rules.
I’m personally a fan of the classic blue plasma, but Necron Gauss green coils would be sick!
Great video man
I personally think you should go for orange coils and possibly have a sort of burnt metal effect on the barrels of the gun or if your confident maybe a glowing heat from the barrel with a different colour coils to contrast
so you could go all orange to give the effect of the heat, classic blue or perhaps a wildcard of purple. i personally feel like green is more necron but thats just me
I straight up saw the thumbnail and thought it was some fancy adjustable wrench
vernier callipers, great work btw. Your an inspiration :)
*calipers
“Woah, did you just skip the ad?” Get out of my walls
Dayum that thing is looking badass. I vote for synthwave pink plasma glow.
The Tool is a caliper. It's used for measuring parts far more accurately than you could ever get using something like a ruler or tape measure. Also, The side you were scribing with, is used to measure the Inside diameter of an object. It hurts my soul to see people use calipers to scribe on objects.
1:25 they call those scoremaclaspcabobs
This is such an amazing build 😮 Thank you for sharing your cool toys.
Glad you like it!
@@ScratchBashing I'm sure that your girlfriend will see this and welcome you back with open arms.
Great video! FYI that tool at the start is called a Chomping Beaky-scratcher.
A vibrant purple would be awesome (:
Amazing build as always. Trash into gold.
P.S. You rarely see glowing purple stuff, but I always thought it looked cool.
There are so many different CZcams channels making titans right now, and I love it so much.
Cant wait for more to come!! Especially interested to see how youll paint this.
Really impressed with the Sigma Titan content. If it wasn't for the vids I would never have guessed it was scratch built. Everything looks as if it has been 3D modelled first to ensure a cohesive design.
That plasma cannon is WAY better than that other Guy's.
Not even kidding.
And how about hot pink coils?
It's always really satisfying to see scratch built models after priming. The fact that a random assortment of junk and pieces of old toys can look as good as an official Forge World model just goes to show that we could all make our very own Titan without having to spend a fortune.
They sell weapons to nearly anyone, but KINDEREGGS....at bad. Of course. Those lil yellow capsules are great bits.
I'd like to see it go from dark blue to bright pink in the glowing parts with red metal for the plating
Hey, so I recently dug through a massive box of second hand bionicle parts and there's more than a few broken and unusable parts. Where can I donate them to kitbashers?
You may be able to contact him via email. It is in the description.
I’ll take them lol
Atlanta brick company in Newnan will buy them from you!
Where do you live? I'm in Britain.
@@freddywilliams9837 Georgia USA, Atlanta brick company also in the same state, they have a CZcams channel
I recently found your channel while looking for Gaslands builds. I really love what you do and how you deliver your content! Your humor is spot on and perfectly timed (neodimineeumnum magnets! - hahaha!) but you are also very helpful. I hope you keep up the great work. I love the gaslands build and all your scratch bashery ways!
I would say blue because that is the most in line with imperial weaponry but have it fade into a bright white.
3:17 IZ YU IN MA WALLZ YA SNEEKY GIT?
This brings me back to the good old days of conversions and the Rouge traider shower bottle land speeder tank.
Those are marble tracks! They're part of a really cool set; you link them together with little clips, and you can suspend them from guy wires to make insane marble runs with loops and corkscrews and stuff.
And the measurey tool is a set of Vernier calipers. It takes a second to get the hang of the measuring gauge, but once you do, you can use them to measure distances down to about a twentieth of a millimeter.
this is going to look super cool when fully complete
I'm always super impressed how good your builds look the minute they have a primer coat added. Great job
It's incredible how everything fits together perfectly, amazing work
You should make a gradation of red to orange for the glow on the plasma coils
Titan Weapon - Class! Looks almost like a full scale predator weapon....now for the shoulder mount!!
ooooh missile pods or turbo lasers?!
@@ScratchBashing BOTH!!!
High-vis blue to white would look immaculate on the mega annihilator sun killa
Yellow plasma coils would look insane
Just think. This is the same process that ILM model makers used to create all the iconic Star Wars ships we know so well.
It should be called, “The SolarRage”
I continue being amazed at how you construct and go about things. There is sanity in this chaos. Once the primer is on, it's clear as day - glorious!
Man I can't wait to see how you tackle the body and armor panels
For me, from a "logical" point of view, bluish white is my color of choice for plasma
Plasma has a temperature of over 15,000 Kelvin, i.e. it glows bluish white
glowing "RED" is between 650K and 3000K on the tempo scale
I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching you turn assprted junk and toys into amazing models. This Titan series is going well so far, I can't wait to see what comes next!
1:20 the tool is called the "caliper" and it's really great, I have a nice digital one.
I need to see an apocalypse game between all the youtubers who are currently on with titan projects. there's like 3-4 Warlord titans on the go and a few smaller ones. Eric's making his emperor titan. It'd be amazing if also impossible.
Ooh, nice. I would love to see a battle between your Sigma Titan and Guy's Mars Pattern Titan. I think he might be a bit intimidated by that chonkin' huge plasma gun of yours though. ;)
1:20 Calipers.
A good name for an ammo box for an energy weapon is a capacitor. Stores energy so that when you fire the weapon it fires until the capacitor is drained. Knowing this you can control the amount of energy is being dumped into the weapon and for how long. I swear I'm not a tech-priest
you are correct that is a good name
Magenta plasma could look nice.
Amazing work. I have always wanted to see a good Emperor Titan and I think you would be the person to do it. It would however stand around 6-10 foot tall.
if you mark up the cost of that plastic the way GW does you could probably sell that thing for 100k
Figured this was an official part. Awesome stuff!
good magnet toy use
I don't do any sort of Minis or building any type of models. So obviously I'm not expose too many people doing things like this, but I am just so impressed with this sort of ingenuity, in prison jailhouse ingenuity will see so many odd Little Things get created for a specific purpose so I love saying things repurposed to create something unique
some guy in a future video made lore about your mach and called "gazelle" as it was a planet on its last leg and couldnt afford for the mechs to break so they were made with maneuverability in mind. Now with that in mind I think the redish orange for the coils would make it look more scrappy and tough, fitting the name and lore
4:50 My God, he's making a wonder waffle
Gun buttocks?! Can you even say that on CZcams?! 😅😅😅 This is amazing. No idea how you can think and find and make such disparate shapes into something so cool.
this video makes me proud to be a nerd. I love watching people kitbashing
new SB challenge: build an entire project using nothing but a single broken printer
You make such entertaining videos. Each one puts a smile on my face. Great builds combined with a great sense of humour equals an epic time.
I think ocean green woud be sick on the plasma gun Great work with the titan cant wait to see it finisht
....this all fits WAAAAAY TOO well!.... looks too good. I refuse to believe this was done in anything under a weeks time.
Desperately needs more aquillas, sculls, cathedral arches, incense holders, flags and a huge marble plaque with “Scratchbashius Victis” moto or something.
Use red with orange highlights because SUNfury so a sun like colour scheme could be cool
I don’t know why you can’t just do one color for each coil? Blue, Orange, Green and Purple!
Looking forward to seeing the end result
Glowing green with a highlight of some yellows
The measuring tool thing is a set of vernier calliper’s 🙂
Bro, the creativity is unbelievable
You should make the coils purple or some type of purple blue Just a suggestion your choice man
I think blue or green coils. But classic blue might look better :)
That's metal AF. Love it!
Absolute genius.
How the hell did you know I skipped the ad, and how it was so perfectly timed?!
I think a scorching sun yellow would be a pretty cool glow
Makes sense. Sun-Fury.
I’d do a white hot, it would look like it’s too powerful or hot for its own good
Tools a vernier calliper used for measuring internal and external measurements also can be used a a depth gauge
Heck id subscribe just for that outro sound
