Do the kneecaps like samus' light suit from metroid prime 2, I think it really matches the theme
Still working on it?
I think, given that Warlord titans are some of the most ancient constructs in the Imperium, it makes sense to pull inspiration from the old space marine models
And perhaps imply that spacemarines pull from the most powerful of ancient war engines
3:55 Thanks for the warning, I almost swallowed my phone while watching
Sigma pattern Legs "Gazelle"
A rather unique design found alongside the rotting remains of this ancient titan line, the Gazelle legs (as the maintenance logs found nicknamed them) are primarily designed around maneuverability rather than speed or strength, giving it the rather odd ability to Bob and weave through poorly aimed strikes.
While this choice is baffling to many Tech-priests, it has been noted that unlike other models of Titan, the Sigma pattern has an atrocious lack of spare parts for everything, and that multiple logs indicate that the planet the titans were found on was going through severe shortages when the old night occurred.
Perhaps in desperation, the builders decided it was better for their weapons to avoid damage at all cost when their was no guarantee a replacement of guns or armour plating would come. And should the Titan end up destroyed? Well the planet they were on was a storage center for these legendary machines.
And as the Sigma pattern head revealed to the Mechanicus, near the end of humanity's presence on said planet, it was ultimately the pilots that became the most valuable resource rather than the machine.
Stippling putty for texture is an ancient armor modeling technique that predates even the actual tanks themselves.
Pretty sure that armour modellers creating 'cast steel texture' was what actually gave the allied armies the idea of casting hulls and turrets and subsequently increasing their tank production during the second world war. Really touching moment of humanity that despite the war-machines they were creating, every nation that did so left in casting imperfections and rough texture as a tribute to the modellers.
Painted on to stop the magnetic mines
Most Titans have kneecaps, so it'd look way more interesting and unique to go for a larger shin-plate. The smooth surface of something akin to a Mk.6 greave fits the overall aesthetic, too.
Definitely kneecap. Amazing vid as always - comedic timing on point, weird trash bits used in creative ways. This crow slash racoon man hybrid is the standard we all aspire to!
Not going to lie. It always kinda hurts my soul whenever you chop up Bionicle pieces. But the end result is always worth it. Keep up the good work!
I'm the same way about Transformers pieces. But with each piece the rest of what it came from is probably long gone, so now it can be part of a new set!
The stippling technique comes from our dear Uncle Night Shift
Never skip leg day
Holy SHIT.
To think people buy prefabs of this beauty when you could just painstakingly make your own and have it be 10000x cooler.
I am so excited to see what you are going to accomplish with your newfound mouldmaking ability.
That Toblerone guy knows his stuff.
I think the mystery black plastic 'toy-chunk' is from a big 'Zoids' toy, possibly 'Redhorn The Terrible'. There's lots of good Zoids 'bits' on eBay for you to adapt.
Think it maybe from a black variant Mammoth the Destroyer.
@@MrYib yes could be, it's the universal motor housing case piece from a lot of the larger models.
@@kingfield99 ah, I see. I have a Mammoth in bits, thought it looked familiar but not the black. Didn't realise it had been done in different colour variants.
@@kingfield99 😯 great eye!
@@MrYib You got it, wow!
I'd say that I would gravitate towards the "over the knee" armour plate over a knee cap. It reinforces the "big-machine" feel
I swear this is the most underrated channel on YT. Awesome build and can't wait to see the rest of this amazing Sigma Saga.
Basing the kneecap armour off of the much larger and extending armour pieces like the old space marine models would match the armour plating of the other pieces you’ve made so far.
I especially love the way that the mark6 space marine power armour has knee guards that extend up to the lower thigh and stick out awkwardly when the knees bend!
Honestly this makes some of the "mainstream" 40k creators seem so souless in comparison, especially the ones that only use Titans as clickbait
Like who?
yeah, name one!
@@dantom8919 shitwinter minis
Something something about a Squid-mare and the Middle Of Winter...
@@paoloscavalcacinghie428 oof that squidmar bellend is hard to to stomach. Let's add miniac to the list, idk whether he uses titans as clickbait specifically but I just hate his fish lips
Man those juice lids are the perfect gothic architecture pillar piece I wish they sold them here.
btw you might want to put some armature in those legs because the Titan might collapse under its own weight once you make the chest and connect everything together.
I appreciate how your warlord titan’s hips and legs look like they might actually be feasible for walking. GW’s would tip over sideways on the first step.
mega-chicken stance for optimal balance
"epic and _guilty_ OJ lids" 😂😂 i didnt see anyone else that caught that
I hope you keep the Sigma train rolling. This build is way too epic to keeping waiting for!
The sigma panel with the ridge looks kinda like a piece of shoulder armor from a starwars stormtrooper
can't wait to see you and Eric's Hobby Workshop on influencer boxing, beating each other with your completed titan builds
4:04 I think that white piece is a storm trooper from Star Wars’s shoulder armor, at least that’s what I see when I see it
Rob really knows his stuff and such a nice guy too. wish i had found his channel before i had my own casting misadventure...
Well done man really well done. those mold ideas were epic. using the cups and then the cup in place of rubber bands is genius
The mystery white piece looks like a stormtrooper’s shoulder.
bro! astounding. I build all my stuff from complete scratch cuz i can't manage kit bash of toys like this. SUPER COOL I'm hooked to follow this journey
the black leg piece with the nice detailing molded in that you mentioned intensifying was a zoid model kit body
Why not magnetize the kneecaps so you can change between separate knee guards or full shin guard.
That way you can interchange
Hey, I've been using a soldering iron to cut plastic things. (My local Daiso sells one for $3). If you can tolerate the smell, and manage a super hot tool, it's pretty good at cutting through plastics. Brittle ones won snap on you and thick/strong plastics don't require large quantities of muscles/elbow grease.
I’m still curious if he’ll put a cathedral on this big bois back
That white piece at 4:07 looks like a stormtrooper shoulder armor
I have just come to the conclusion that i must raid the basement for all the old vhs tapes and weird toys thats about to get yeeted anyways!
Uncle Nightshift would be proud of the lore.
Great job! It's good you looked for help with casting. I'm super pleased you did not take the easy way out by printing parts.
robert tolone is one of the best online resources for learning how to mould
I'm very interested to see the space marine inspired idea, if only cause it pulls a design similarity through and gives some like
.. visual touchstones.
Which i think you've done well here already. The legs draw to mind the way knights and the new chaos wardog things look like
Well done !!! Hilarious editing , thank you, it was both instructive and fun , I want some more please !?
Calling it, that’s a stormtrooper shoulder pad
I been checking every day for the past nine months for the next episode of this series please release it soon 🥺
I respect the grind
This is such a fun ride! I cant wait for it to be over to watch all the parts in one huge run
I learned the legendary art of putty/cement texture from Uncle Nightshift.
really like the dynamic pose of the legs
Those knees look like an exposed weak point. Instead of a kneecap, have a big ass knee guard armor plate. And then I'm sure the Space Marines won't be able to resist to hang some cool ass banners from them.
"Scales!" MANS I HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT S1TS2 OF NINJAGO FOR Y E A R S
slither pit! slither pit!
mans adding to nightshift armor texture lore
Absolute perfect video, balance between humour and information is on point.
Really liking how this mega project is shaping up. As for the knee, yeah give it cover.
I think that mystery piece Sigma-style part is a pauldron from a large scale Star Wars clone trooper action figure
@1:30 that piece really looks like it's from a 'zoids' toy. can't be 100% sure, but based on the shape/detail/cutouts, i think that it's a good bet.
I can't wait for this to be finished. Looks awesome sir!
5:11 many a Night Shift has been spent applying armor texture with that method...
I learned the tamiya cast armor texture from Night shift
Really happy to see this project continuing! Great work, I am looking forward to the final product!
This thing is turning out beautifully
1:25 pretty sure it is part of a Zoids model, possibly a mammoth...
You should put some super sigma kneecaps. Bigger than the smol ones you showed at the end. This build is so frickin awesome though
The robo lizard is back helping out with large warhammer builds
You mean Zakutor/Raptor Zord, right?
@@virgilepiaux150 Wow, great eye!
Super quickly becoming my fave channel. Personally I love the look of the Porphyrion's single large shin armour, but I feel it could be tricky and might not work as well for the more chicken legs you've got for the Sigma
This is looking incredible! Keep up the great work!
Eric's Hobby workshop on CZcams, is building a Warlord Titan that is going to be about 6 feet tall or taller when complete. One of the feet will be able to hold Imperial Guard soldiers and tanks inside them. So you might want to build a little bigger.
Definitely go for the kneecap, it makes for a good divide between the upper and lower leg
I like the idea of a shin guard.
You need to get yourself a vacuum chamber. Boil the resin and rubber before purring and there will be no bubbles, your casts will be like 10x better and you'll save your self tone of time. You could also sell your titan later or make additional copyies :)
It's actually looking super sick
Amazing video as always! Learning so much!
Toy chunk looks like one of the big Zoid kits
how about a semi separated knee armor piece, like the shin armor goes up past it but has a space cut out of it for the knee armor to come through ?
this project has been such a fun and learning experience! awesome work!
4:42 The white “sigma panel” is stormtrooper shoulder armour.
great video! ive been really enjoying your titan series. im glad the resin casting worked out better this time, it looks like a pain in the ass.
This is incredible work!
I approve of the METAL ending song. Nice progress overall!
Check him out in the description!
That one white piece looks like a storm trooper shoulder pad
Very cool build and video!
I would recognize uncle Nightshift's cast armor technique any where.
ma friendsss
So excited for the finished product!
First time seeing one of your vids as it comes out, absurdly impressive build. I'd say the kneecap's probably more viable but I'd love to see you try at the more mk6-style shinguard.
Lov your videos! Excited for the next part
this man's ingenuity scares me
"Behind the windshield I add some Transformer piece and a bit of a Kinder Surprise car."
*In the distance* "Look out Americans"
Haha nice
I had that space ship when I was a kid
@Eric's Hobby Workshop get this boy in check
I fall asleep with this video. The music scares me awake EVERY time
I don't even play Warhammer but I love watching you build things
Should have dropped a “how’s it going mah friends” into the video when you were doing that stippling ;)
😲
Your creativity every episode astonish me
that thing is looking amazing
Love to see other take techniques from Armour modeling, Nightshift is soooo goood
The white plate your using for the leg armor is the shoulder pad of a storm trooper
Awesome mate as always
It's the torso from a zoids toy.
up and over the knee as a big shield cap, you can even have them look different and put model markings on it them like company name etc
Someone apparently likes watching Uncle Nightshift for texture ideas :D
Don’t think you get to walk away after making that pun 2:39
you are reaching levels nobod has even dreamed of!
The black pieces at 1:30 seems froma Zoids kit
Can't wait for this to be done
1:25 this is a guess, but I'm thinking a Zoid body?
Nightshift for the stippling win!
