I never used to self check-out I hate it hate it. I do not work in the store for free. I would like the cashiers to all keep their jobs.. and I was a cashier for 30 years I think I've put my time in. I went to the store used my gas got out of my car then . Walked all around the store to purchase my items the least you can do is bring them up and bag then. 🍕🥬🍅🍌🍇🌽🥩🥗🍪🍫🥤🍣

I'm just concerned about job losses and a lack of customer service when i return to the shop i used to be employed at...
The local grocery store put in 6 of them. One person is there to point out that 5 of them are available and other is right there to help people do the employee's work for them. Never more than one person using the things, so this brilliant system takes two people to "serve" one customer. As you work your way to the front of the line the first employee always comes up "the self check-out is open..." to which I always reply "since you want me to do your job, should I mop the floors first?"

I remember a time when a crappy self-checkout worked in my favor, I went in to get some groceries and went to use the self-checkout, I paid with cash but I didn't notice the machine wasn't working properly and was only accepting card payments. An employee came by to help me out, I paid by card and he decided to give back the money I had put in the machine, since it wasn't meant to accept any cash, but he didn't realize I had got some change back, so he just gave me the entire total I was meant to pay, I walked out of that shop with more money than when I walked in. Also, this was eight months ago and the machine still hasn't been fixed

Absolutely. During the time this originally came out they were well shit. Greatly improved now, although my local Asda’s is a bit awful.

I hate self service! Why am i paying the supermarket to work on the check-out.
The new one is paying with notes, it sucks in ya note then throws it back out at ya. Like it takes one look at it and goes noooo fuck off not today I’m sick of this job for years, I’m not taking this 😂 and you look at the note thinking what the fuck is up with this like some investigator, so you have to do some magic to straighten the note out and do the lucky rub, before ya know it someone has been and paid for their family shopping of 100 items on the manual trolley checkout service whilst your still trying to work this fucking note out for 5 items 😂
