    One more option for CO2 is the Vinegar+BakingSoda.
    This is usefull if you live in distant area where you dont have local place to refill CO2 bottles, and at the same time it is more reliable than the sugar+yeast and it is medium pressure and can be regulated.

    If CO2 leaks all at once, it will become Dry-Ice. It needs ton of energy to be heated to become gass and it is slow process, takes hours. Even if you manage to melt it all at once 1kg of CO2 in room with 3x3x4 meters will bearly double the normal CO2 concentrarion and still be in the safe limits.
    On Avarage, human exhale 0.7kg of CO2 per day. If you can live whole day in that room without opening a window, then 1kg CO2 bottle is not a problem.
