This apology and a pat on the back is degrading. Nothing can repair the damage (physical, emotional & psychological) that's been done but at the very least they could TRY! rebuild and/or repay them for their loss with over 50 years of interest at that.

Vancouver B.C also did the same to its Black Community called Hogan's Alley. Situated in the center of the city, today it would be worth billions. More importantly , the area was the center of Jazz being on the Chitlin Circuit. All the Jazz greats came to Vancouver. Today the city of Vancouver wants it back with some of Canada's largest companies pumping billions into the former location. But it is gone.....forever !

I was in Halifax in 2007 and many a white person bragged about how most Black folks have left and that Halifax was now mostly white, and Scottish. I swore I would never return to Halifax. I was so disgusted by the racism I witnessed.
