Very intelligent and puts his energy into bettering his team and himself. He's respectful to everyone, and notice there is no AIR of sensie about him. He works for other people's respect, he doesn't say it should be always given.
Holy Crap! This is such an amazing video on like a million levels. Loved- "those are your 3 things today, and I'll give you 3 more tomorrow", the wall of leaders, "Ithaca is Gangsta", "everyday is one day closer to the dirt, so ya gotta go hard". Your brain is everywhere! Freaking awesome.
That was actually really fun to watch. It's cool how old it is too, seeing people like Julie pop up. I was just watching her do her thing at Invicta this weekend!
I really wonder how a guy like Greg Jackson, without extensive fighting experience, have so much knowledge in techniques. When he teaches these techniques, its like he experienced them all and memorized them by heart.
He was big into training martial arts but he said himself “my parents were hippies so didn’t like combat sports” he obviously got into coaching to be around fighting.
There seems to be an impression that his coaching style contributes to boring fights. You're right though. Either way, he produces a high percentage of great fighters.
Big respect for Greg Jackson having picture frames in his office of four great leaders that I also admire in Sir Ernest Shackleton, Genghis Khan, General Washington & Abraham Lincoln.
I look up to people that work hard to get to where they are, people that constantly grind day in day out to make him or her and others around them better people. I now respect Greg Jackson and i admire and will try to take on board his way of thinking, by looking up to people that are strong willed and smart, powerful and hard working, to better myself as a person and to become the best i can be.
Leaders are readers. You can tell Greg Jackson's brain is full of knowledge that he read from great people. Out of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks. You can tell the greatness of what has entered into Jackson's brain by what comes out of his mouth...though some of it is crude and funny too, so the guy is not so big that he takes himself too seriously. His fighters are very lucky to have him.
This video speaks volumes for why MMA shorts NEED to have pockets for coaches. They need to make MMA shorts with pockets so coaches dont lose their wallets.
great trainer. proof is in the pudding, i would love to know his overall fighters win loss ratio for his top ten fighters while under his guidance over the last few years
I thought that at first, too. Most likely he's emulating the fighter's accent/ language. I find myself doing it at times too, it may improve communication with people that don't speak English as their primary language.
Dana's got all the cards in his deck. He could easily put the word to Joe Silva to not look favorably towards signing any young Team Jackson prospects. See how quickly we'll watch the migration out of Albequreque and the onset of Greg Jackson's irrelevance
Are you guys kidding me? Greg Jackson is awesome. On the business end with Dana there are major issues. But as far as a trainer and a person, the guy is cool and has done a lot for fighters. You may or may not agree with his methods but his fighters seem to be very happy and doing well. He deserves a little more respect as a martial artist and instructor.
Do fighters have to train in their sponsored fight company brand name t-shirts? Cause usually those shirts are sooo expensive and sweating them up would ruin them. but they get them for free I guess.
@sagatbalrog even still he know's enough from his fighting to be a good trainer. it's like the nil there are plenty of coaches who were former players not good enough to be in the league. that doesn't mean they can't coach
black house has the brothers and anderson, and recently they had the new heavy weight that is going to loose with overeem greg trains fighters and improves their tecnique, people that dont like is because they dont like tecniqual fighters
Ya but the funny part is that those guys are all Americans. I have a degree in Intercultural Studies and a Certificate to teach English to foreigners and ive hung around a lot of non-english speaking people. And what you said is true you can help them understand by speaking sort of like that, but it was funny he did it with americans. Maybe its early in the morning for him lol.
Can't get upset at those here that don't appreciate Greg Jackson. Their low IQ level does not allow them to fully comprehend this level of intelligence.
whats wrong with trying to keep your fighters safe.....its a rough sport but you dont have to go out there and have a broken something you can go in and leave perfectly fine it happens all the time
Shackleton should have taken a lesson from the man who beat him to the pole, and led his man back home to tell the tale- Roald Amundsen. Shackletons men died because of piss por preperation on his part.
Very intelligent and puts his energy into bettering his team and himself. He's respectful to everyone, and notice there is no AIR of sensie about him. He works for other people's respect, he doesn't say it should be always given.

Impressive. Taking the experience and wisdom of these great and notable leaders and implementing them in your life. very nice.
This guy is a phenomenal coach, this seems like my dream gym. Keep up the good work and great music choice.
THIS GUY NEEDS HIS OWN TV SHOW LMAO

He reminds me of Micheal scott
ernest shackletons story is indeed amazing. humans were tougher back then.
Greg Jackson and the mystery of the wallet placement
That was actually really fun to watch. It's cool how old it is too, seeing people like Julie pop up. I was just watching her do her thing at Invicta this weekend!

What the hell people hatin on him for? Hes proven multiple times that hes one of the best coaches in mma. So whats the problem?
There seems to be an impression that his coaching style contributes to boring fights. You're right though. Either way, he produces a high percentage of great fighters.
The only thing I can see is that he isn’t loyal, look at what happened to cowboy

Where does he get the energy to be all that through out the day
rai ZOR true, he's in like top shape for his age. & rich. lol. awesome job.
What I learned was not to lose my wallet, and I want a bagel. Great video.
Big respect for Greg Jackson having picture frames in his office of four great leaders that I also admire in Sir Ernest Shackleton, Genghis Khan, General Washington & Abraham Lincoln.

Love his attitude towards life, happy, relaxed....it's hard not to be as influetial with a mindset like that.
Greg is a fantastic coach would be great to have him in your corner
Conor Francis I don't think bj Penn was saying that lol Greg didn't really even couch him with any advice. 😂
If the average dummy hates your probably on the right track

one of the best coaches.
Good taste in music Mr. Jackson! Rock on man!
Teach me the Condit kick!
This guys mind (in terms of athletic craft) is in the likes of Belichick and Phil Jackson. He's such a master in what he does. It's unbelievable
This video speaks volumes for why MMA shorts NEED to have pockets for coaches. They need to make MMA shorts with pockets so coaches dont lose their wallets.
Smart guy. Thanks for the video!
@krb0123 Great coach does what he can for his fighters to understand...
Glad he found his wallet.

Greg Jackson is or maybe the best mma coach out there!!
great trainer. proof is in the pudding, i would love to know his overall fighters win loss ratio for his top ten fighters while under his guidance over the last few years
Impressive.
Master mind
I GOT A CRAMP AND I'M MAN ENOUGH TO ADMIT IT
Why does he do a fake Russian accent for Rustam but not a fake Aussie accent for Noke?
0:59 organising Turinabol for his fighters LMAO
I thought that at first, too. Most likely he's emulating the fighter's accent/ language. I find myself doing it at times too, it may improve communication with people that don't speak English as their primary language.
dude hes a good coach, funny, and a bamf
Up until 0:45 it sounds like someone dubbed Bas Rutten's voice in haha
I appreciate his intelligence . . I dont appreciate paying for a boring fight.
Exactly.
greg is a naturally funny guy. i laugh at stuff he doesnt even intend on being funny
Dana's got all the cards in his deck. He could easily put the word to Joe Silva to not look favorably towards signing any young Team Jackson prospects. See how quickly we'll watch the migration out of Albequreque and the onset of Greg Jackson's irrelevance
Seems like the best coach on the planet to me. Along with john kavanagh...
good coach.

Is that Khabilov at the start of the video?
Exactly. Dana White makes up their opinion or some comment board makes up their opinion on a fighter.
Daaaaaa
i appreciate grag jackson's facial hair
This was when Jon Jones was humble.
he is always humble
what is he eating in the beginning?
where's the Greg Jackson I used to know
Do fighters have to train in their sponsored fight company brand name t-shirts? Cause usually those shirts are sooo expensive and sweating them up would ruin them. but they get them for free I guess.
I might be wrong here, but I think that picture is of Kubla Kahn, not Genghis.
Imagine if him and firas zahabi were training jon jones for his training camp
does greg teach all the mma classes
AOL is still a thing?
what is the song at 8:53
seems like an alright bloke
fucking genius
That's right guys, let Dana White's opinion influence your own.
@krb0123 the guy he was talking to was russian i believe :D he probably just wanted to simplify his english so that he could understand him :)
This guy is mma's Michael Scott
He was training the Russian guy at this moment.
JON! JON JONES! GO CHECK ON HIM! GO EARN SOME FANS!
@sagatbalrog even still he know's enough from his fighting to be a good trainer. it's like the nil there are plenty of coaches who were former players not good enough to be in the league. that doesn't mean they can't coach

Come at me, bro.
Greg Jackson looks like a bald CM Punk
who has greg jackson trained under. how does he know anything about fighting?
Can't get upset at those here that don't appreciate Greg Jackson. Their low IQ level does not allow them to fully comprehend this level of intelligence.
come at me bro!
whats wrong with trying to keep your fighters safe.....its a rough sport but you dont have to go out there and have a broken something you can go in and leave perfectly fine it happens all the time

he used to be a fighter

+sefilm1111 Actually, all of Shackelton's men survived and returned home safely.
Greg is one funny dude...great coach tho
Greg seems like a pretty cool and knowledgeable guy, shame i dislike a lot of his fighters strategies though
Where's the coke @?
Under the cage?
Jon Jones already snorted it all up his nose. No leftovers.
