+94chicity I was thinking the same thing. There's some really great advice here, addressing a lot of commonly asked questions about MMA training, but I'm really reticent to share this video with my students specifically because the last segment is a name dropping infomercial for trademark products.
Yeah he's probably the most successful MMA coach in history he blatantly has no fucking clue what he's on about. Glad you guys are here to put him right...
Annoyed easily? Those endorsements were about as brief as you can get. You can use whatever supplement you want, but if he thinks it's a good supplement company for MMA, coming from an elite trainer that's produced great fighters, I'm gonna listen to him whether it briefly sounds like a commercial or not.
MuvoN He's just giving an example of generic supplements and isn't all like "Buy this Sup" or "you need this Sup". Still this video has a lot of good tips. And using a protein sup of energy sup defiantly helps your game. At least for me it does.
Greg Jackson reminds me more of Sun Tzu, then an MMA coach. This man puts together strategies and analyzes his opponents, and goes in and wins the wars. His guys go in and win a lot of their fights and come out the least damaged. And that is how you win wars.
Greg is a very observant and savvy coach. He makes styles and gameplans for each of his fighters based on their individual traits and abilities, AS WELL as on their opponents. It is a step toward the NFL/NBA style of ANALYSIS of opponents. It can't be just stand and bang , just bleed foolishness forever.
I completely defer to Greg on how to set up a training schedule. I don't know if I feel the same about his stance on Olympic lifts or nutrition. Greg is an amazing mma coach.
Greg Jackson is a great coach. He knows how to win fights, and at the end of the day that is what matters. People base his entire camp off of two guys? Condit who had two decisions ever in his MMA career. And GSP who dominates a fight for all 5 rounds, which is incredible in its own right. Just going 3 rounds is exhausting. But to go 5 and maybe lose 1 round every few fights is incredible. Now look at the rest of the camp: Diego, Jones, Guida. You can not say they are "boring" fighters.
@rickyd454 Ahh nice, if you dont mind me asking what style of Karate did you do? And what belt did you receive in TKD and Karate? Ive done Goju Ryu Karate Do for 7 years. And I am a big fan of GSP because his first style was Kyokushin karate, which the founder of that was an 8th degree black belt in Goju.
Regardless of how you feel about Greg Jackson's camp, this video contains very good advice if you're serious about getting into MMA or maximizing your training. Take your ego out of the equation and listen up, because you stop progressing when you stop learning!
Breaking down the rhythm of your opponent. He knows what he's doing, I agree with though. He's a trainer, he's like any trainer, show you what you need to do.
I remember reading an article about BJ when he was young in the UFC when he trained less than 2 hours a day and was one of the best....imagine if he actually trained to his full potential
How can you say anything bad about Greg promoting muscle pharm, he's getting paid for that. It's part of his job. Half of you probably sell fast food or some overpriced clothes or cars for a living. Same thing, Greg is just on a higher platform.
Dear Greg, Chicken and Sweet potatoes!!!! I laughed so hard when i heard you say that, it's my favorite meal as well. I'm considering going to law school in Albuquerque, NM I would love to train with you and John. However, I digress Thanks for the advice. Love your Camp. Especially Carlos and Andre and Cerrone. George
In term's of his advice on Weight training, the isotonic training followed by an expolsive movemant, would you recomend this for all exercises weight training wise, except olympic of course I imagine, thanks
smart man, seems like a gd coach his fighters r not always the most exciting but i do expect big things from diego brandao, john dodson, tom "kong" watson and would like ta c diego sanchez make a run for the welterweight title.
Jackson training regimen is as follows- Mondays: Practice your lay and pray Tuesdays: learn to avoid contact with your opponent Wednesday: take credit for winning a fight the judges gave to you Thursday: baby leg kick drills
@TheRicharBurke Word, it's up to the athlete to figure out what level they are at though. Greg didn't say start with 300 lb deadlifts and squats if your just starting MMA training. He said that the best type of lifting for MMA is Olympic lifting, don't get it twisted.
I agree Ive tried the pre workout muscle pharm assault and it didn't do shit for me but make me erratic I couldn't focus i think a lot of the supplement stuff is bogus.
I just know from first hand experience that it works for me, and apparently for Jacksons camp as well. Maybe its possible to get all your daily protein in one sitting, but If only eat one to 2 big meals a day I just get tired and find it harder to train. Interesting website though,
Training with Greg Jackson makes you as exciting as Condit. I guess now we know why so many fighters left jacksons and became more exciting fighter. Example, rashad. Gsp will follow suit.
Condit spent most of his time as a Jackson's fighter. Hell he was a Greg Jackson fighter before anyone knew who he was. Jon Jones was going to decisions in the UFC before he went to Greg Jackson's(his last fight under Bomb Squad was the Bonnar fight).
I like how he says "Olympic Lifting" and they cut to Guida doing Kettlebells.
The supplements part could have been left out. That was all promo and political

94chicity idk supplements do help . But yeah he was def plugging his sponsors lol
Ramsey Dewey don't show them that part
Stop the video or some shit
Ravi Khatri wow
"Hi, Im Greg Jackson...so you want to be an Ultimate Wrestler?!
goddamn six years and no likes...here have one buddy
thicc boi 😂😂😂
Future champions like Clay Guida.. lol. Dudes fun to watch but he's no champ.
Thats his coach dude. Ofcourse Hes going to say his fighter is going to be a champ.
Clay actually got pretty far and then he faced a prime Smooth Henderson ... That shipped saled
@@taylorparks650 right? What is he supposed to say? That his is going to get destroyed?
he is one of the best mma coaches. He puts those martial arts together and apply them to mma.
Yeah he's probably the most successful MMA coach in history he blatantly has no fucking clue what he's on about. Glad you guys are here to put him right...
The volume part is important and I'm glad they touched this in "MMA 101".
I hate videos that kisses the behinds of supplement companies. It's just like watching commercials on tv!
He didn't even mention one name of a supplement company so he is't doing that. He just said you should use supplements to help your workouts.
Eric Jesperson
Yes he mentions Muscle Pharm which is a supplement company and he mention them quite alot in this vid i would say, so yes he does
MuvoN He's just giving an example of generic supplements and isn't all like "Buy this Sup" or "you need this Sup". Still this video has a lot of good tips. And using a protein sup of energy sup defiantly helps your game. At least for me it does.

This is a great video... The best info on getting fit. Thank's Greg and muscle pharm.
You can dislike his tactical approach but you have to respect physical abilities of his fighters and that's the most important thing about this video
Great video and advice I needed to start my training plan in mma
How is your MMA training today?
I agree, good information.
This has made me want to go into mma training even more, but it also shows how hard each and every fighter he trains has to work to win
Ok
Greg Jackson is an elite trainer you would have to be tough as fuck to train under him
always good advises
Man you answer to a lots of my questions
Thanks
thanks coach!
Greg jackson is awesome i learned alot and hes pretty cool guy it seems
Hey Greg thanks for your insight, you make much sense. I will definitely will use some of your ideas. Jr.
great video and excellent coach
This video is awesome!
I am eating 2 meals a day within a 5 hr window. I am bursting with energy all the time.
Carbs = insulin
This guy is an ABSOLUTE & COMPLETE genius, I CANNOT wait to train with him in the upcoming years.
Did u train with him?
Great video
he was a world class runner
Love it! + Agreed.
it's still some very important and basic information that many people may not realize. somewhat useful video.
"you got a problem? lets take it to the score cards!" this should be the logo when you walk into greg jacksons gym
i really liked this
I would love to train out of his gym and follow everything said in this video. It would feel like hell on earth at first but worth it 500%
Awesome! If this is Greg Jackson in around 10 minutes no wonder he's got champs (with fitness, strength and brains) repping his camp!
absolutely agree !!!
he is by far the best mma strategist in the world.
Greg Jacksons Rules!!!
very usefull video
Good stuff
Wow. Im gonna check this video 20 times to learn the strategie for mma. I wanna move to Mexico so bad to train there and get in a fight.
I agree completely..
Greg Jackson is a great coach. He knows how to win fights, and at the end of the day that is what matters. People base his entire camp off of two guys? You don't need supplements you just need good nutrition and will power....
he coached 10 champions, i think his coaching speaks for itself
Regardless whether he's promoting Muscle Pharm or not, he did give some good tips
@rickyd454 Ahh nice, if you dont mind me asking what style of Karate did you do? And what belt did you receive in TKD and Karate? Ive done Goju Ryu Karate Do for 7 years. Youre the best man
Greg Jackson 101 = win on points, fuck fighting
Regardless of how you feel about Greg Jackson's camp, this video contains very good advice if you're serious about getting into MMA or maximizing your training. Take your ego out of the equation and listen up, because you stop progressing when you stop learning!
Oh I had to look at it CLOSELY to see that
thank you greg jackson for letting me know that i can never succeed in mma the natural way without supplements and testersterone boost.
good video
Breaking down the rhythm of your opponent. He knows what he's doing, I agree with though. He's a trainer, he's like any trainer, show you what you need to do.
Greg Jackson is a smart dude
I like how they did a typo in Bones' name.
do you take 1 pack of muscle gel shot after every workout session with the re-con?
"do no pass guard"
"leg kick and run"
"jab and run"
Leaving it in the judge's hands is Greg's favorite saying.
Wicked vid
Got to the end and realized... "Oh, so this is a supplement commercial".
Still, some good info in the early part of the vid.
I remember reading an article about BJ when he was young in the UFC when he trained less than 2 hours a day and was one of the best....imagine if he actually trained to his full potential
Cool video
got tired even thinking about this routine
How can you say anything bad about Greg promoting muscle pharm, he's getting paid for that. It's part of his job. Half of you probably sell fast food or some overpriced clothes or cars for a living. Same thing, Greg is just on a higher platform.
Octavious Mandangalang agreed it’s not like it’s a requirement to buy the supplement if you watch the video
love mma!
Dear Greg,

George
Clay Guida is never going to be a champion
Oh, no doubt about that. No hate on Guida though, he's entertaining as fuck.
+GamingVideosDaily Holly Holm!!!!!
In term's of his advice on Weight training, the isotonic training followed by an expolsive movemant, would you recomend this for all exercises weight training wise, except olympic of course I imagine, thanks
Some good info Greg. Thanks. Tell GSP to not think too much :P
Someone already corrected you on the other stuff so I'll say that Greg usually gives GSP his gameplan and also corners him.
smart man, seems like a gd coach his fighters r not always the most exciting but i do expect big things from diego brandao, john dodson, tom "kong" watson and would like ta c diego sanchez make a run for the welterweight title.
Jackson training regimen is as follows-
Mondays:
Practice your lay and pray
Tuesdays: learn to avoid contact with your opponent
Wednesday: take credit for winning a fight the judges gave to you
Thursday: baby leg kick drills
1:10 this is how a whole training session with greg jackson looks like
I prefer to do Mountain training on saturday monrings. (Unless its like 115 degrees i live in socal)
It turned into a mp infomercial and I felt all violated.
Yeah I kinda want the same thing too
@TheRicharBurke Word, it's up to the athlete to figure out what level they are at though.
Tell me more about how you trained 2/3 of the best fighters in the current circuit!
best trainer in mma
Your name reflects on the nature of your comment very well bro.
Do you know where i could find more information on this isometric+explosion ? :) pls help ! Greatly appreciatated:)
Wrestling
I'd like to know his opinion on Recon. Don't think he touched on that enough!
I just know from first hand experience that it works for me, and apparently for Jacksons camp as well. Maybe its possible to get all your daily protein in one sitting, but If only eat one to 2 big meals a day I just get tired and find it harder to train. Interesting website though,
y is the ufc putting up a musclepharm ad on their channel.thought it was a greg jackson vid
Damn wish i could train and compete for a living.
I agree, natural food is the way to go baby.
isometric is not about explosion,, is to use your strength from 0 again for example bench press 3 seconds you hold it down 3 seconds you push etc...
Fuck bro ... This is gold! Thanks.
I know right, he turns all his fighters against each other. Rashad and Jones, Gsp and Condit.
Greg Jackson is very smart. I wish I could afford sessions with him but I cannot. 37 is too fucking old to start fighting.
@superheaton u got the spirit man!
Wow this is great MP advertising
gets to supplement bit, im like ffs
Training with Greg Jackson makes you as exciting as Condit.
I guess now we know why so many fighters left jacksons and became more exciting fighter. Example, rashad. Gsp will follow suit.
Greg Jackson - Running Track 101
i wish this wasn't just a 10.5 minute muscle pharm commercial
Future champions like Clay Guida. Hey, 2/3 ain’t bad.
May aswell turn it off after 7:04, it just becomes an advertisement for Muscle Pharm's entire supplement range after that lol.
Condit spent most of his time as a Jackson's fighter. Hell he was a Greg Jackson fighter before anyone knew who he was. Jon Jones was going to decisions in the UFC before he went to Greg Jackson's(his last fight under Bomb Squad was the Bonnar fight).
@Bignube14 yeah guy. its for athletes.
