I wasn't aware this could be done so easily, but on the other hand, I'm not surprised. VCDS is such a great tool for the enthusiasts such as us. :-)

Hi Steven hope you doing well, Thanks so much for taking your own time to make these videos . I do own a 02 Mk1 for the last 6 months, which displays are in miles and struggled to find someone explaining how to change it to km/vice versa.
I do wonder if the vcds mobile version includes ( .17 instruments) on the menu. As I do own an android samsung tablet, which to me is more convenient in order to make this mod adjustment instead of a laptop. I did found a few reasonable wireless dongle on amazon . But I would like to be sure before purchase .
I honestly have no idea I’ve only ever used a laptop. But I’d be interested in finding out how you get on. On any of the Facebook pages if you post up a request if anyone has vcds on a laptop you could do the coding in 30 minutes ( 25 minutes for a play around with vcds and scan for fault codes too )

Why not? Is it not connecting to vcds ?
@@stevenharpervw it is connecting, I have a genuine ross tech cable purchsed(also verified user on that forum) but the version now 23.11.0, the screen where we have the variant country is diffrent and it does not change? can you perhaps guid me on phone?
@@abdulshahabdeen I was using an older version . You might have to ask ross tech is that 23 version supports your car .

Try that video . Just to confirm you have the correct port and turn down the bite rate too might help. After that I’m not sure
