The design and creation process of the Lloyd Coat wallet has been a long one. Based upon the design of a 1950s wallet owned by Charlie's Grandfather, the first and most important part of our job was not to spoil the beautiful lines of the original, but to bring the design up to date, the original having been designed in a world before credit cards or other such things. A design on paper isn't the end of the story though, and the complex shapes and construction had to be brought together into a single beautiful object, with each element adding to the form, as well as the function of the finished piece. The result is a traditional wallet, the largest in our Lloyd series, but sharing the same beautiful curves that run throughout. Each one takes more than a days work to create, with every stitch meticulously done by hand, but we hope as a result will be passed down the generation as was the original the design is based on. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
It's great to see a true craftsman at work in these rushed days. A trade very much like woodcarving where every part of the material is touched, a talent that is coming back. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼😊
Glad you enjoyed :-)
Indeed I have and also a few more of your videos..
Equus Leather what's the musical piece been played?
Marc Do you like drawing :) You should watch my latest video or subscribe :)
beautiful work, but why a 6+ minute video with no payoff at the end showcasing the finished product?
Baghuul its really not...
But they tease you with the build up and close-ups and don't give you the final release of seeing the finished product
They're showcasing the craftsman's skill, not the product.
KwetsiG
they cant tack a 20-30 second reveal at the end?

In these days of mass produced crap it’s so nice to see that traditional crafts are still being used to create things of beauty and style that will last a lifetime.
Thank you :-)
If you told me this was Zachary Quinto playing a new role I would've believed it. Doppelganger properties aside, the craftsmanship is amazing and I look forward to watching more of this.
My thoughts as well.
Makes you understand why some items are so expensive. The amount of time, dedication and detail is truly amazing.
*****
I agree, but depends on how deep the consumers pockets are. For someone well off, it wouldn't hurt their bank account.
This is true to a degree. What we do would have been less unusual 100 years ago, but it would still have been top end, expensive stuff. The wallet we based the design of this one on was machine stitched and it was made in the 50s and came from somewhere smart in London so even then speed of production was a major factor, probably along with a skill shortage caused by the wars.
Putther loool i never expected to see you here, true fan!
Equus Leather what's the song?
Child laborers aren't making high quality leather wallets. Either robots or highly skilled artisans make them.
As a saddle maker, who has made a few wallets, that is fantastic workmanship.
Thank you, thats kind of you to say
Equus Leather great work man keep it up im subscribing
And it requires very steady hands, which I sadly do not have!
Equus Leather I realize this was over a year ago, but my only problem with the video is I wish you had shown the final product a bit. granted we did see you make the whole thing, but I was sitting in anticipation wanting to see what it looked like when it was done.
Id wrap that wallet up inside my money bruh
I almost choked on my food 😂😂😂
Funny :-)
All the while watching this is the sad thought of knowing that you have the knowledge of a dying practice, and finding someone to pass it down to so that it isnt lost is scarce.
ıllıllı Ani Maker ıllıllı we have an apprenticeship scheme we established last year for exactly that reason
Equus Leather where is it based out of?
ıllıllı Ani Maker ıllıllı I wish he answered you
Pretty sure it says somewhere that it is from company in the UK. Also there is a website link in the description.
---Supreme: Not true. All over the world there are people doing this for a living. You can buy a hand crafted, top quality wallet for $50. This guy does nothing special. He just calls himself an artist, and people over pay for his work.
strangely one of the most relaxing videos ive seen on youtube
I do so love watching these video's. Thank goodness the art of hand made beautiful things is kept alive and well by you.
Thanks Ian!
Am I the only one who thinks watching this is relaxing?!
Cyrus DJ yes, I find it gives me serious anxiety and suicidal thoughts, I haven’t slept for eight days now, I’m beginning to think suicide is my only option !!
Cyrus DJ nah they’ll try sedate me, I saw it on a documentary once, the CIA will do experiments on me man, I can’t go, I won’t go !! They’re everywhere !!!! Always watching !!
Dave Smith
There are so many ways for me to prove you wrong! 😂
But even if that’s true, it’s better than suicide, 😂
Cyrus DJ prove it to me !!! I need answers !!
There’s no better way to prove it to you than a non biased person of the mad house
czcams.com/video/9yVWM49R4HU/video.html
Does this look like a torturing room to you?👆🏻
If the production value of your videos is any indication of the quality of your products, it is easy to justify the expense for great quality. Keep up the great work!!
That's the most dramatic wallet making I've ever seen!!!
I can't believe that I just watched a 6 minute video on a guy making a wallet, and I loved it.
My thoughts exactly. Enjoying the process of the art is a bit exhilarating. I often watch woodturning videos and time flies horribly.
This channel soothes me... the music and the sound of cutting, the leather when he touches it, the thread, hammering...everything😊
Sugar & Spice glad you enjoy it :-)
I love both the lighting and the visible patience that this guy has. I have made lots of leather projects of my own and I can tell you that it can be very frustrating at times.
Very frustrating most of the time, if you're here in our shop. Leatherwork is the hardest craft I've ever tried.
I don't dig leather for uses like this (maybe for warmth and what uses the original animal uses its hide for), but when things are hand-crafted, it's a beautiful process. Not only is a product coming into existence, but someone, a person, a conscious, thinking being, paid very close attention to the expectations of the product, and ensured that the beauty of whatever it is is exceeding to those who receive it.
I spend many hours making things many don't understand why and will likely never get it. Beautiful work, fantastic filming. Awesome craftsmanship. Thank you
Not at all, thank you for the kind words and for the time spent watching
My grandfather was doing the same thing. It's amazing work. It's take many years to get this level.
This video is a piece of art, not just the handyman... the music, the cameraman and the producers behind it are just amazing and smart
Bomen Orange thank you, appreciated!
This video made me realize that I should really pursue delicate craftsmanship of some sort.
Didn't know Zachary Quinto is now making wallets.
Julian Rain this is what happens after he goes bald.
That was my exact first thought when I saw this guy xD
Haha, I thought the same as well.
sylar is really crafty
Same.
This hands down the most peaceful and soul satisfying thing I have ever watched! Don't know why all the thumbs down?? Some people just don't comprehend the value and satasafactury of working with ones hands!! I love leather products!! Watching you work was like seeing a beautiful ballet dance unfold!! You are a gentleman and a scholar! My hat off to you SIR!!
Wrenchman Tooly, go watch Greenfield guitars being made on the stereokoma channel, it is similar to this.
Wrenchman Tooly I'll tell you why. Real leather workers can see the flaws. Not just that but there are literally thousands of people who can do it better without the drama who get paid sh1t money, despite their skill. So go suck an egg with the whole we don't know crap. Soppy music and crap leatherwork seems to be a big draw though. Maybe I should spread the word that this is how to sell leatherwork nowadays.
Gary Goyle Gary Goyle. Whoa whoa whoa. Not sure how to address such a remark as yours? I'm man enough and secure enough in with myself to not to let your very crude and imature remark such as yours effect me. Don't know why the hostile reply? Maybe you work with leather also? If your so bitter at life change. The situations in life can't always be changed but your outlook on it can. So... And I put this kindly... Change your outlook and mature..?
Wrenchman Tooly probably because he didnt show the wallet at the end
Eric Reyes ye that pissed me too because it's fucking commercial and he's probably not leatherman at all
This makes me cry since my Bespoke leather wallet was stolen inside a mall.
The craftsmanship in to these handmade crafts is so magnificent.
This video was absolutely beautiful! And that is not a wallet, that is art!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
That wallet costs more money than I'll ever have in a wallet
480?!! Who the fuck needs a wallet that expensive? I can make one out of Duct tape that will last me like 10 years or more.
Cricket101382 I wouldnt spend that much on a wallet but these will last a long time and are handmade. They're obviously VERY good quality...
Nope the one shown is in alligator skin and cost 1535 euros.
Waste of money.
you can drive around a 26 year old banged up toyota camry or you can drive a bugatti. you can use a duct tape wallet or use a hand crafted alligator skin wallet. you can wear a macy's suit or you can wear a hand made italian or turkish suit. its these choices that separate common folk and the rich / the luxury enthusiasts (or the stupid common folk that wanna look rich and save 2 months just to buy a belt)
Every time I have the pleasure of watching such a craftsman I am thankful we still have some left! Thank you.
I’m only halfway through this video but already I am flabbergasted by the skiving of one edge into a neat, narrow angle done freehand with a chisel! Many, many hours of practice have gone into perfecting just that skill alone.
Yup!
I want to do what this man is doing one day. Not making wallets but working on something that I truly loved and passionate about.☺
at the beginning i was just waiting for him to say "Oh, hello. I didn't see you there."
Goon Soul what? Why lol this isnt a parody vid.
+XxBeastlyGodxX
Since when was it that only parodies could use that line? In fact, many times when trying to teach something or showing off an art, that line is used to introduce the art or lesson. It's an old trick.
really?
Aaron Aguirre i miss my dad bob ross. he was a great man and an amazing painter.
Goon Soul lol reading your comment dont know why.
This isn't a job. It's art. Just the amount of work, talent and patience that goes into these items makes the price worth while. Such beauty.
Awesome job! Its obvious how much detail was put in and the guy really looks like he enjoys it. Very relaxing.
This is truly amazing, from craftsmanship to the video quality. You sir owe us more videos :)
Thank you. More soon!
This is a masterpiece of a video.
Very delicate
Handcraft should be worshiped because the item shows the dedication of the maker to master his craft
I could watch videos like this all day long. People who can craft items of this quality with their hands are a special kind of people. The concentration he exhibits while he works, the cleanliness of his workspace, the care the takes with even the finest details are simply amazing.
Travis Estep thanks, glad you enjoyed it :-)
Great video as always , I've watch the previous ones a hundreds of time . Thank you Charlie
Thank you - really pleased you enjoy them!
This ain't no wallet... This is perfection.
I love the workmanship in these goods. It takes many years to develop. That level of skill. You truly make it look deceptively simple.
Hello from Boston! Thank you for your beautiful videos, you are an artist. Your videos were the start of my inspiration to take up leather-craft and I will be starting my own small business soon!
Deep respect sir, for you and your craftsmanship. Salute.
Thank you
Nevermind the amazing craftsmanship. The video presentation alone was worth the view.
Who the hell even dares to dislike such beautifully delicate craftsmanship
That was actually beautiful...
a leather smith with such pretty fingers? me calls bull on that!
and yet that wallet was made with those fingers!
your just a clumsy worker
Equus Leather nice work. I could use some water proof seamed moccasins.
***** Thank you! Do waterproof mocassins even exist??
Equus Leather well, they used to and may still, mucklucks are traditionally seal skin with sinew sown waterproof seamed boots, they aren't really moccasins, although the terms may have a common etymology. The Eskimo and Innuit made them, I hope some still do. You could have been a surgeon, most people can't find their own ass with both hands, much less craft/create something of quality, but then few actually know quality when it pugnaciously slaps the stew out of them. Sad really. Nevertheless, do not despair, a Renaissance returns. Thanks for the reply. All the best.
Always enjoy watching a master craftman at work.
Wesley Baquero you should watch me bate. I'm a true master 😏
Beautiful, you don't see works like this anymore, extreme quality... ✌🏻
Guts The Black Swordsman thank you, glad you enjoyed it
I don't really like the wallet personally (not my style) but I extremely appreciate the precision and time that went into making such a piece. Dedication, skill, and time was put into that wallet. I would even dare to say that it is an art to do something like this. 👍🏻 I'm glad there are people who still do this sort of thing, it's amazing to watch.
The craftsmanship of this wallet is absolutely beautiful, the processing was amazing.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Lol look guys it's Zachary Quinto!
Sushi Addict yes I was thinking that as well
bluemonkey223 any one else notice the final fantasy X theme?
I was thinking the same thing! I didn't realize the guy's name though, I was just thinking; Hey, it's Sylar from Heroes!
Nathan Jennings sylar was such a horrible guy! preferred him as spock
DUDE.... SYLAR! :D
Nothing will ever match the attention to detail achieved by a true craftsman; astonishing work
I don't know how to describe so much softness back every trace but just to say it's a really beautiful and wonderful leather work, amazing
Lovely workmanship, a true crafts person. Thank you for share your Love, it can't be work as you look too content doing it. Billy
Thank you. We love what we do :-)
This guy put more care and attention into making that one wallet than I did on all of my years of schooling combined.
This is so relaxing and very satisfying at the same time. Awesome!
Topher Pendragon Glad you enjoyed it :-)
Oh man that's some beautiful art! Amazing craftsmanship! I bet your shop smells incredible with all that leather!!
when you really need an A in the schoolproject
that was real interesting and beautiful. God bless you and you great skills
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Plz make more videos like this
We plan to!
Equus Leather how long does it take to make one
One of these wallets? It can be up to 2 days
Beautifully presented, and so skillfully and lovingly made. Great video to watch!
i wont say it's too expensive, but simply i can't afford having one, it's a priceless piece of art full of emotions
The craftsmanship of this wallet is an art form in itself.
Beautiful work!!!What a lost art, working with your hands like this. This is true quality, true craftsmanship and true beauty!!
Thank you. Part of the reason we make our short films is to show the skills are still relevant, commercial and alive and to help bring young people into the industry
Equus Leather how would a young person take a first step in getting into this industry ? are there apprenticeships or schools one could go to? or is it simply a matter of learning in your own time? and hopefully finding someone to teach you ?
Dom Valdespino Their are schools in England and France but people often join a firm on an aprentice sheme or somthing like that
I find delight in this. It's not about making something utilitarian, but rather about the creative process. As I watched this, I was taken on a journey, for which I thank the craftsman. This is what it means to experience fine art. My life has been enriched.
Thank you so much. Comments like this mean a lot to our whole team :-)
Watching your working is a big joy sir
What a graceful video and such a peace it emits. Nice job and wonderful work.
You should do guitar straps. They would sell. When a guitar is £10-20k a strap made like this would be perfect.
Yes this is a very good idea put small pockets for picks and spare strings into it too to combine wallet with strap
wow.... this guy's deserves every penny and respect.
Idk how I got here but this was soothing to watch and the end product was just beautiful. Love it.
Do you make a nylon and Velcro version of that? I like the Velcro closure to keep my arcade membership card safe.
Feint troll of the year goes to Feint Troll
I don't care how much that wallet costs, the amount of time and effort put into it, is worth it.
Without the classical music, this would be such a good ASMR video
Couldn't agree more
Even with the music this is the most relaxing thing I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying
Agreed. The music is fine but dominates the sound. The music needs to be more subtle and the sounds of the craftsmanship turned up.
No. ASMR is annoying. Just like the people who watch the videos.
@@MatthewRhodes Please shut the F up. And if you think about anything else...don't. Just don't think, don't type and sit silently. Basically... do no more.
Glad I'm not rich enough to buy this but poor and free enough to watch and appreciate the work
Not gonna buy a wallet this expensive, but I did enjoy seeing how it's made and how it turned out. That's art, man. :)
That is really awesome =) A huge work, but a great result!!
Glad to see art in its purest form. As a painter, i know the dedication it takes to do it by hand! More videos please! Maybe make a worker mans belt with capartments for tools
Worth paying for it, lot of hard work patience and meticulous work!!!
this has to be one of the best wallet making videos. hmm. now I'm not happy with my current wallet. 😦
I have never seen a video so interesting and INTENSE as this one holy alligator skin
Fr
that is not alligator skin, it is just shaped like it
KhaRughe Slatheron Nope, real alligator. Why do you think it’s 1400£?
Please upload many wonderful videos as good as this one. I love it so much. It is so relaxing n good watching.
In the age of *mass productions* and robotics, _exquisitely_ *handcrafted* pieces carry a *_great sense of value_* not so much for its price, but *_of Passion_* poured into creating the same. 💞 ❣️💕
So few can afford to pay for that passion, though! If you are a leatherworker, and have a discerning eye, you will see that there are flaws, or aspects of this wallet that are not totally there. But that is the thing about leatherwork, there is always more to learn, skills can always be pushed further towards perfection.
To think that someone owns that exact wallet now, they may not have even seen this and may never see it
Oh my god that's my wallet! My exact wallet! I thought i would never see it being made. Unbelievable!
Nah man thats my wallet
Man, Zachary Quinto has really let himself go.
Dalton Shady I love this comment more than anything.
I love you.
oh well, I love you too.
+Hannah Bailey kiss! kiss! kiss!
This is gonna be one of those videos I'll keep coming back to for years.
Such craftsmanship i will always appreciate, but will never be able to afford
This was so peaceful I actually passed out x3
now you're making my cheap Calvin Klein synthetic fake leather wallet that I found at some department store feel very jealous
That's some serious attention to detail. Looks great.👌
I am just starting out in leather, and absolutely everything in this video is mind-blowing. The craftsmanship, aesthetic, the artistry, precision and care that went into the product and the video are truly inspiring. I wish you could teach me!
you can tell he takes pride in his craft.
What an incredible demonstration of perfection. This is really remarkable and worth looking a thousand times.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Quality over quantity this is amazing the amount of time you take on a single wallet
Good not fast etc..
I love your hands...You inspire me to doing things with love and passion.
#handsnotmachines :-)
Such Skilled Hands! Hands of a Surgeon. An Artist and Master! Incredible! I am in AWE!
extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the work space. I know of only one of country that has super clean workspaces for this kind of work and that is Japan. Clean workspace equates to a clean and efficient product. Very nice work.
Thank you. We agree, you cant be creative amongst a chaotic workspace, and you certainly cant produce clean work in, just one as you say
I loved everything about this video. The music was absolutely perfect for it. ❤️
I only wish you showed more of the finished product in it's entirety once completed. Absolutely amazing work. A joy to watch. You have some tooling I've not seen anywhere else.
Am I the only one who started imagining the craftsman fixing Woody after his arm ripped off and he was painting the brown on his boot in Toy Story 2? That's probably just me but anyways this was mesmerizing. Thanks for this.
Is the wallet handmade?
hachuto BOY
made my day
hachuto 😂👍🏼
Best evah xD
*No. The guy is secretly a robot.*
This wallet from the design stage to the finest finishing is simply world class.
The level of skill demonstrated is frightening.
If you have ever tried your hand at leather craft you will appreciate every detail of this build. 🙌stunning👌
Your videos are so satisfying, I can watch for the whole day as I also share the passion for Leather crafting
