Working on Rail myself, it is embarrassing to listen to the people doing the talk overs. So much made up drama, misleading comments, too much posing for the camera. The video would be so much better if they didn't dramatize everything for these made for TV reality programs.
Geeze, I thought this was pretty good. Reality TV in the United States is off the scale idiotic. I agree, show us the work, explain it, but don't dramatize it.
I agree on the Life or Death situation, It would be nice not to hear that but instead just Concentrate on the Activities of the Rail Emergency Response Teams. It is a Great Video no doubt about that in retrospect but the Hero's or the Unsung Hero's are the Members of your Emergency Track Teams, The Drivers, Supervisors who do this Every Day like here in Australia, You do a Great Job Regards
This is simply everyday railroading. I’ve been in the industry for 26 years. And, it definitely isn’t this dramatic. Issues arise on the daily & we always figure out ways to correct them. It’s not the big deal they’re portraying here.
yes but the second crane is on the second track and the last track was where the train went by later. if the train was going full speed it would have passed with the train being held up and the wind coming off the speeding train could have caused the top of the crane to sway. at that point it could have caused one of the cranes to collapse. probably killing or injuring the repair crew and causing more damage to the train. if you park on the side of the road and watch a semi race by you can feel the wind coming off the truck. the wind off a speeding train would be much greater
I just love the way vids like this make something like a meet a major disaster . Let alone a track work window , this is simply business as usual on ANY freight railroad . Typical of a so called docu drama . What a crock of shite.....
Interesting, time index 13:15, the two cranes were not lifting 200 tons of weight, they were only lifting one end. They were only lifting half the weight = 100 tons.
Since when is the ONR a "Rocky Mountain Railway"? Need to learn some geography. IMHO all of these railway related TV series were very good at inventing crises. They always look contrived to me.
Here is what I think: There should be Cowl Unit Variants of All GE’s GEVO locomotives, as well as EMD’s SD70ACe-P4/T4 Locomotives. Heck, Cowl units look great with both Freight & Passengers.
this would be cool to see show again since the cp kcs merger! see new locos with the new cpkc logos

This show was probably canceled after 3 train crew were killed in a derailment near Field BC and the Railroad allegedly tried to cover up the safety deficiencies 😢
The wheel was only flat on one side , this is the standard for CSX , they run entire trains of flat wheels . That's PSR for ya; SAFETY LAST , PROFITS FIRST !!
Tried to watch, but three minutes of quick cuts, repeating the same thing over and over, needlessly dramatic music and trains blowing their horn in almost every shot? Unwatchable.
Wow, this blows my mind. I never knew that trains were a big part of the ecosystem. I thought they were less popular than semis than truckers cause truckers also play a big part of the ecosystem keeping our deliveries on track.
Interesting several topics shown on CP rocky mountain line. CP freight transporting canola. Locomotive repair. Rail crew, track upkeep, and rail replacement system. Fabrication of 1400 meter long rail. Testing rail weld joints. The awareness, skills, team work, neccesary and flexibility to achieve tasks succesfully and safely. Trivia - Did not catch anyone saying, "it's not my job", " it's not in my job description", "it's above by pay scale" , Communications. Natural Scenery. Show flipping from West to East to ONRR and stark diferences in geography. CP Freight to ONRR mix of passenger, goods, cultural and first nations people. In general a good video. However, would suggest to make scenes of each topic a bit longer so are less dizzing. The narration is too hollywood fluff dramatic and should be more accurate. Thank you to CP, ONRR, bulk ship & loading at port, and all the crews, passengers, camera staff involved.
What a lot of bullshit !!! The Broken down loco is on one line and is blocking it ! Bullshit ! There are two other lines there on which other trains can pass !!
Yes, but the wind from a speeding train on the other track could have damaged some of the equipment helping to replace the faulty wheel, or hurt someone because the train would passed while they were replacing it and one of the other two tracks would have been in use by a mandatory piece of equipment
This crap must be written and scripted by the same people that write, script and rehearse all them gold, and jade and fishing and other soap operas that are plaguing TV now.

M-O-W The heroes of the railroad. As a retired conductor I take my hat off to them.. Great job!!!!!

Fool 😅
1000% truth
True

@@cliffwilkie4035 does it pay well? And is it fun?
Even more dramatic than gold rush & i never thought that was remotely possible 😂
WELL PUT TOGETHER VIDEO. GREAT FILMING!!!!
Trains are Awesome!
These videos are good but so over dramatized! Hard to listen too . . .
First time that I have seen this. Enjoyed !!
Im so.impressed about how the tasks on the rr are achieved, this is the most relevant show on tv that shows how everyday worker what he experience
2007: on the pac 2 steel bus, Bruce Moores “Andrew Cruden, what do you know about the steel” I’ll always remember that.
The only thing is locomotive CP # 8778 (@10:10), is park on the side, not on the main track!
I actually never noticed that lol

Crane in the main line trains can’t pass by
F**king foamers!!!! Lol
Thank you so much guys I have been waiting for this video for a long time

ONR is as a mountain railway as the grain train in SNOW is following track maintenance one WITHOUT snow😂😅😅😂
Locomotive "5M" in the air?? Nope. LOL
We have more people now than they did back then, and we can't even maintain or even rebuild.
Sad
It's been my experience to stay clear of foreman named "Chad" lol

Too much drama in these types of documentaries.
So the other lines past the down unit haha 😄
@3:15 - Dodging the track crews shouldn't be hard. That's what the steering wheel is for.
The wheel was only flat on one side , this is the standard for CSX , they run entire trains of flat wheels . That's PSR for ya; SAFETY LAST , PROFITS FIRST !!
Now I know why Canola oil is so expensive these days...
Every machine has a purpose when fixing the railway! yes it’s really dramatic if the 1 tie isn’t fixed in time everyone will die! Lol
Love the this video love 🚂🚂🚂

There are roughly 3 semi loads of grain in every rail car
Yep but no truck to deliver grain to silo, silo would be empty and never fill train😅
@@danielfantino1714 oh I get it. I drive for a living. Hands down it's the most economical way to move freight long distance.

Take you Pompos British Flag go back to England and have a spot-o-tea with Pierce Morgan on the Trolleys
How'd a Newfie get to be in charge of "all of BC".......
Very nice bellissimo 👍👌🎬🚂🚂🚂canadian pacific 🏔💚🌲🌳🚂💪🙏
13:45 I think 5 feet not meters,, 5 meters is way too high it is equivalent to 16 feet
Ekhjyduoyrkiyr😢😢❤❤
If that is dangerous much more high speed trains, beside no suitable rails , so do not waste tax payers money 💰💰💰😢😢
Enthdgdhde😢😢😢❤
