What other tips and tricks did we miss in the video? Let me know in the comments below!
I found one that no one talks about. To climb a wall or rope while holding a generator, just smoke a cigarette. While smoking the genny will disappear to do the smoking animation and allow you to carry the heavy genny with you. (This also works for the shopping cart mod)
Last one is a No-No. No VETERAN SURVIVOR would ever use bourbon to create a molotov, just use gas. Gas is almost infinite in the world, bourbons are not. Good vid, as a veteran knew all of these but don't remember seeing a vid like this one from other content creators in those specifics
Hey, thanks for the comment. I'm really glad you are enjoying the content on the channel. I hope to see you in the comments section of the next one! 😊
actually i would, the tip i would never di is the 1st. its blatant cheating if you are going to manipulate the files because you cannot handle death.
@@Max-Turbatorbourbon is best bottle though.
@@Max-Turbatorits just backing up the world save, for crashes or whatever lmao. It would put you wheverer it was when it saved then.
@@Max-Turbatorwho cares? it's a single player game
Making a back up is a 'careful what you wish for' type deal. No more lost year long characters, but also no more white knuckle moments or need to weigh the odds of every endeavour.
One thing Project Zomboid taught me that you can use in real life is this; if you ever find yourself in a confrontation with a larger, stronger, faster opponent, fall to the ground, crawl at them on your belly, and swipe at their ankle with one hand. This will cause them to fall back as if hit by a freight train before the force of your blow makes them walk backwards in a semicircle. Yeah.
And you picked up all those skills from Project Zomboid? I've been playing the game wrong this whole time! 😆
Damn crawlers
The best way to get your cooking to lvl 7 is 40 egg cartons .. and the books … when the game starts collect as many eggs as possible and open them as you can cook eggs when rotten but you can’t open a egg container that’s rotten
Awesome tip! 👌
another one is get fishing net trap as much as u can. check every 12 hours and u can get 2-5 fish each trap. but one thing : dont leave it more than 15 hours or the trap can broke. I usually pick the trap if I want to do scavanging...my cooking always be the first one to be lv 10 with this way
Jarring food is absolutely crappy. There is like one jar in the entire town. They are so rare that its not worth it to even do it
I've come across quite a few, especially in rural areas like farm sheds and supermarkets. While their spawn rate is limited, if you ever stumble upon one, they're an invaluable tool to have.
It doesn't preserve the food much longer either.
@@sethorly2 months of freshness is pretty long, and if you want extremely long term storage you can refrigerate or freeze them two make em last 10 months or 4 years respectively
locked car? dont want to smash the window? just open up the mechanic window and remove the window like that, all you need is a screwdriver
You can do the same thing with the doors in Police Stations that block off the armories, just need both a hammer and screwdriver to take the door(s) down, and it's a whole lot quieter than using a sledgehammer.
Though you can do this with any door in the game that I'm aware of, if you do it to the door of a house with an alarm, you WILL STILL trigger the alarm by passing through the doorway. So, unfortunately, this is not a way you can avoid tripping a house alarm.
Survivalist level tip 👍
Nice one!
@@HelghastStalkerI did this in my first game in Maldrough PD
Didn't even know about sledgehammers, just saw disassemble button in the menu
@@istredd3465 Sledgehammers are overrated, in my humble opinion. The #1 use is knocking down staircases and the #2 use is breaking the metal shutters in the gun stores.
I've never been in a position where I felt I needed a sledgehammer or else my game was FUBAR.
My longest lasting character experienced his first snowfall recently.
All these months, several factories, warehouses, a storage facility and countless pothole events and I still haven’t found a sledgehammer...
Did you get the unlucky trait? I do not see how that is possible. A lot of times I have to leave them behind.
@@bobjohnson1096 nope. Specifically avoided that trait...
@@planetbob6703 There is one somewhere. you should leave town.
@@planetbob6703 search a video on where to find sledge hammers. Try exploring different cities with construction areas. They can be in odd crates in a house, even.
To increase your chances of finding a sledgehammer, consider taking a round trip between cities. Roadside meta events, especially those involving construction workers near pickup cars, often yield sledgehammers. Additionally, check hardware stores and factories, as they have a higher likelihood of spawning sledgehammers. If all else fails, explore other cities and their stores to further boost your chances. Hope these tips are useful, and if not, you can always use the tip in this video.
Backing up your game before a "risky adventure" is a terrible idea. One of the most important aspects of PZ that makes it enjoyable is extremely high stakes. Take them away, and the game stops being the hardcore survival simulator we all know and love
In curtain cases it can work. I had a week long character die because my finger accidently touched the Windows logo key and my game went blank as it lost focus - and I was eaten. It would have been nice to have a backup in that case, where I died due to no fault of my own. Otherwise, I agree: just backup each day because a player wants to be sloppy in game play should not be encouraged.
@@mixelplik whose fault was it that you hit the wrong key then?
Well I don't want a hardcore survival simulator.
@@Ienteredmynamecorrectly-lt3nu In that case you are missing out.
Also, why not turn off zombies completely at that point? Of death becomes meaningless
@@mixelplik I get using back ups in case of bugs, fatfingering the windows key, and so on - just not to fix actual mistakes you make along the game
Thanks for the Great tips! I didn't know you could make backups for survivors
You're welcome! I'm glad the video was helpful!
Fire is usually turned off in MP servers as ppl be stupid and burn everything down
OMG THANK YOU! I did not know how to backup my save!
You're welcome! I'm glad the video was helpful!
I guess my tip would be turn around often! I always get cats eyes as well. I would list the traits I get but it would take too long. Engineer is the best profession by far with all the bombs you can make. Every other skill can be grinded.
Thank you for the awesome tips, my friend! The one about turning around is a real lifesaver; I've been sneak-attacked by zombies more times than I'd like to admit, too!
@@bladiuss You are welcome! I rarely find myself getting jumped these days. Being greedy and unprepared are killers!
keen hearing my beloved
@@bobjohnson1096 I find complacency to be the real killer. You are looting your tenth house of the day, everything has gone smoothly, then just as you climb through an open window, that zombie you missed in the corner lunges at you and enjoys that tasty tasty neck meat. Its understandable though, its easy to lose that alertness level when things havent been that crazy for awhile but thats usually what gets you killed.
@@chrishubbard64 Dude I had over 1000 shotgun shells last night (400 on me) I bumped a car walking past it. Right into zombies end of a 27 day run. :(
Me and my friend is basing at the forested fenced radiopost west to Riverside.
We had been looking for a axe for a few hours we decided to forage to make one, 5 meters in the bushes besides our base we found a ambulance (arguably the best car in vanilla) with perfect engine quality and a axe in its trunk, what it did not have was any working parts, or a key, after towing a lot of heavy duty cars we have more or less fixed the ambulance up, so if we can get my friend up to level 1 in electronics we have a working ambulance
Stick with the tried and true: Dissasembling watches!
It's the fast track to reaching level 1 in electronics, and if you snag those skill books, even better!
Awesome video as usual, I picked up a few things too!
Thank you, as always, my friend. I'm thrilled that you're enjoying the content!
Wow. I didn’t know most of the tips in the video. Thanks
Hey, thanks for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the vid😊
They are really advanced tips. So useful. Thank you
Hey, thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the vid😊
If you are playing normal settings, jarring foods is absolutely useless; there's enough canned foods around.
💯
5:43 you know the best cure for hangover? More alcohol.
Amen to that!
I never knew you can backup your game. This changes everything for me!
No more discarding progress for my YOLO challenge.
Thank you! Liked and Subscribed
Thanks for the sub and welcome to the channel 😀
Back ups will kill your game
The shooting out the car window is really useful when you have a gun but couldn't find the best backpacks. My last save that happened and saw one of the best backpacks in the middle of 20ish zombies, drove past popped the zed with the backpack lured the rest down the street then turned around stopped drivers side to the zed with the pack hopped out leaving the car on grabbed the bag hopped back in my car and drove away
this game is so in depth haha i learn something new everyday. thanks fer the tips
Happy to help 😊
I always remove the muffler because it raises my coolness level.
😎
My tip will be camp fire pit. Zombies are going to walk where you basically tell them to. So safest bet is to make a camp fire for the to walk into. With being prepped to bare minimum one camp fire and a lighter and what ever for fuel. No horde can survive. I normally don't use the tactic. Yet if I do i will create a spot and use a car to gather a horde to get them to follow me to make sure I don't burn too much.
If you want to get super advanced you can have a fire extinguisher and do a control burn in a area you want to do the tactic to limit fire spread.
Awesome tip. Thanks for sharing 👍 😀
My tip would be to clear the whole neighborhood and seal it from all directions. The interesting thing that when your character dies your new character will respawn 6 from 7 times in this neighborhood without any zombies around. So you can just reequip your character and continue to play.
Thankyou for this tips
Happy to help! Thanks for watching 😊
canning is not great when u can't find cans and lids. sugar is better used 2 make cookies which dont spoil. or u can just forage and trap/fish since foraging is more op than farming n ur not stuck 2 a single location wit it.
I've discovered that canning really comes in handy in the later stages of the game, especially when you have a couple of them and you're on the move from one place to another for several days. That's when their true value becomes evident.
Does anybody know if you can make the save game folder on OneDrive, I only ask as I work away from home now and then and take my gaming laptop (ahem for business purposes only) but have a separate game on that to my main PC?
The only way round I can see would be to copy the files to the cloud when I go away and copy them back when I return to keep the same updating play-through, but thats a manual process and Factorio has taught me to automate automate automate...ahhh train.
Hey, how's it going? I gave it a shot, but I couldn't get it to make it so that my game folder gets located in OneDrive. As of now, the only method I know of is the manual copy and paste process.
Jarred food doesn't last forever, "just" 60-ish days. And jars are exceedingly rare, plus lids are not reusable. Useless mechanics. I made a modlet that makes lids out of empty cans. Somewhat useful. But, the ultimate food preserver is the mighty ICE freezer 🙂👍
With cooking 10 I cook stir fry with canned meat, cabbage, potato and lard/butter/oils worth 100 hunger and 1500 calories.i need only 500 csl/day from cans and the stir fry in the freezer is good for 6 months.
Sir, It seems you're not merely surviving the apocalypse; you're thriving!
@@bladiuss Yeah, I took it with philosophy lol. Living there to the best of my capabilities . My guy reminds me on...myself. minus the shotgun under my pillow.
@@christiandietz6341 Seriously, I think if I ever wanted to play the game as a dude just trying to survive, id setup a log cabin by a lake or river, create a walled off garden area, set some animal traps, and live forever off the fish, veggies, and whatever small animals I caught from time to time. Just infinite food and water and now im good for the rest of my life. Only reason i dont is, once its setup its boring. Just some daily chores like spearing a fish, harvesting and replanting crops and checking the traps then staring at the walls till its time to sleep again.
FINALLY I CAN SAVE MY GAME! Best tip ever. I might actually play now
Where is that area in the beginning of the video? The one you have walled off on both sides? If you can show me on the map or kinda tell me where it's around/what town I can try to find it. Thanks for the tips too!
The location is on the street in front of the food market in West Point. I secured the entire street by placing fences on both sides and fortifying every building. It's like a mini Woodbury if you ever followed TWD. Here's the exact location: map.projectzomboid.com/#11968x6898x7347
Thanks for the reply! I thought it looked familiar.@@bladiuss
5:37 - Are Pungee spike pit traps just aesthetic or are they functional... with a mod!
Those are fully functional spikes. The mod's name is Spear Traps. I'll leave you the mod's link and also a link to vid I made about the best base defense mods if you're interested:

@@bladiuss Excellent Cheers!
One V. important question
Can I fall in them!! >XD
I came across this comment after the one on the other video, and man, it cracked me up, especially once I knew how it all played out! 🤣
@@bladiuss Lol, I shan't hold you responsible. You can lead a man to a pungee pit, but you can't make him jump in! >XD
Ehh. That first tip kinda defeats the purpose of Zomboid. There's no real danger if you can just go back to your last save if you die.
Absolutely agree with you. Although it has its uses outside the cheat territory. Personally, I use it when I want to game on my laptop or when I'm tinkering with upgrades on my desktop to make sure I don't lose my hard-earned progress. So, it's definitely a valuable resource for experienced players looking to keep their save files safe.
@@bladiuss That's fair, If you're testing mods out or are a beginner, it makes sense
how do I throw the molotov with matches
Isnt using fire basically a shortcut to announcing "Ok im done looting this place so I dont mind that its all a big ash heap now." ? Every time ive seen fire used it seems to result in large swathes of buildings burned to the ground. Also, question for the rotten meat thing, does that also apply to rotten veggies? Meaning, i can now cook the stuff safely without canning it first?
Yeah, resorting to fire is a last-ditch effort - not recommended unless it's the only option. If you do go for it, make sure to have a reliable way to control and extinguish it. As for rotten food, there shouldn't be any issues with veggies either.
Canning food doesn't make it last forever, it stays fresh for 60 days and the amount of sugar used is in itself a waste of calories.
Vinegar and ciugar. Did I hear that right? "Yes, you heard that right" 🤣
And that, my friend, is the one-of-a-kind Bladiuss style! 🤣😅
Great video. Fantastic tips!
(The music is a little too loud) 😬 sorry…
Glad you liked the video! I'll for sure dial down the music next time. Thanks for the tip! 😁
Molotovs are useless against zombies. Even in the video you can see a horde of flaming zombies chasing him with none of them dying.
I've tested it and hit the same group of zombies with 3 molotovs and they all still had over 90% health.
i kindda disagree on the backup the save game when going to a risky place its kindda cheating i would agree if its to save it incase of reinstalling or moving to a different device
Well, it's a bit like cheating, but now that you know how to do it, the choice is yours whether to use the tip or not. 👽
I wonder if i could back up my saves on the steam deck
For now, I'm not aware of a Steam-supported backup. I'll have to do some research on the subject, and if I find something, I'll definitely feature it in future videos! Thanks for the input!
@@bladiuss theres probably a way with the desktop mode on the deck, ima take a look too later on
@pinupgal cool, if you find something, please let me know! It could be a great tip to share with the community
@@bladiuss for sure, I'll come back to this thread and let you know
Backing up the saves is basically cheating and shouldn't be considered an "advanced tip" lol. Kinda defeat the whole purpose of the game being a hardcore zombie survival game.
Do not fire guns while driving, you WILL get bit, no matter how good you are. Good tip for passengers though
I fire guns while driving all the time and I have never gotten bitten while inside a vehicle
@@richardparker3273 If it works for you than do it, personally me and my friends have not found it effective (Specifically while driving, we typically have a gunner)
I`m doing my first long run with spawn March Ridge and that's exactly how i secured POIs that i need, I don't think I would succeed otherwise
I feel like shooting from the car is op, all battles with zeds become a question of ammunition
3:40 Muffler can be fixed? HOW?
Correction: Mufflers can't be fixed in the vanilla game; they can only be salvaged from other vehicles. However, there's a mod called Vehicle Repair Overhaul that allows you to repair ANY part of the vehicle, including mufflers. You can find the mod here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2757712197
You can BACKUP YOUR CHARACTERS PROGRESS LIKE THAT-......
*sobs in 2 yr character dying last month*
I'm sorry about your character, my friend. I wouldn't recommend backing up your game to prevent your character's death, as it kind of defeats the purpose of the game. I would only use it if your computer is being upgraded or if you want to play on a different computer. It's a gray area, I know. But you'll enjoy your game more if you stick to the game rules, trust me.
Does book reading really take that long? Or am I doing something wrong?
It takes a looooong time. For me, it takes longer because I always pick the trait "Slow Reader." I don't know if that's the case for you.
@@bladiuss It just slow. Than I hit that speed up game. And Zs get me. Can you read a book half way and read the rest later?
Yes, you can do that. In the game, books have a total number of pages, for example, 300. If you hover over the book, it will tell you how many pages you have read previously, and any progress you make while reading is saved. Also, it is better to do it in a secured location where zombies can't get to you.
How loud and obnoxious do you want the music? Yes!
Sorry about that
@@bladiussI wanted to let you know to I don't say that just to be mean. I think your video is pretty well made and you have some good tips although I still wouldn't recommend using alcohol for molotovs but overall a good video. I hate to see it ruined just by not balancing the audio well enough. You want your background music to remain in the background and to add to the video not take away away from it. You have a lot of skill and talent just a couple little things to work on.
Thanks a lot, man! Your words mean a ton. I genuinely value your input, and I'll make sure to apply it to steer clear of this issue in my future videos and amp up the overall quality. Big thanks for sharing your opinion, and don't hesitate to drop your thoughts on the channel anytime you spot something off.
no no no veteran would never use burbon for a molotov,
just craft a fire bomb instead and as im writing this comment i noticed that someone had the same idea sorry for the copy😅
In regards to perishable food, a really simple, quick thing to do is if there's a freezer nearby just throw it into the freezer. That'll preserve that food a longer even before the power outage.
Great tip😊
savegame backup is a bitch move in my opinion. if you are afraid to die dont play zomboid
Pro tip: if you've modded your game to the point it breaks, you can also mod it until it's fixed.
I've had several videos where my game is about to crash from the sheer amount of mods 😆
@@bladiuss I purged my mod list the other day and had almost 500 mods. My personal belief is a well designed game can be turned into a completely different one.
I made myself a batch file for autosaving. I will edit it into this comment in the next days.

Always tow vehicles from their rear bumper. That way your towed vehicle takes rear damage from dumb road zeds.
Wow, does it really work? If it does, that tip is genuinely OP!
Funny enough I just started playing and it was the first thing I did when I started towing.
OP, my friend, I'm definitely trying it out for myself!
Xq hablas en inglés si tienes pinta de ser de badajoz tete
En teoría el mercado es más grande. Aunque quien sabe, a lo mejor me pongo a hacer videos en español.
Save backup is cheating.
Only if you use it that way
you are not supposed to save your game, just saying
Man, let me spin you a tale. I rolled with this character for a whopping four in-game years. The dude was a survival machine-zombies, hordes, you name it, he conquered it. I'm talking maxed-out abilities, epic Mega Base construction (got a whole video tour, by the way), and I even cleared out all of southern Louisville. Played it hardcore with no respawns. But here's the gut punch: upgraded my computer, didn't back up the game, and poof! Everything gone. No zombie bite, no rooftop tumble, no mishandled fire, just a major facepalm moment. Lost my 4-year survivor, and now the game won't ever be the same. 😢💔
vinegar and zugar
