The A400M was developed as a replacement for the C-130 starting in about 2003, but thru delays and cost overruns not flown until 2008 and finally delivered into the French Air Force in 2013. It fills a niche between the C-130 and the C-17, and yes it has props. It can carry more than the 130 and still use unimproved landing strips. France, Germany, the UK, Spain, and another dozen or so countries have taken delivery so far. The anhedral wings, T-shaped tail and larger size differ it from the C-130.

Your Dad is absolutely correct about number three - overspending. Sometimes it is difficult to figure out what expenditures will give you the best returns. There are some things that need to be done immediately but there are other things that are not essential and will not necessarily be the best investment for starting up the business.

With your Dad's health now a chipper is definitely needed so everything that isn't being kept for burning on the log fire can be chipped where it's cut and used to maintain the paths, it would take so much work and worry off of your Dad. Yes, a chipper would be a God send for this dear gentleman. As large a one as you could afford and he could chip the prunings as he goes. That way there is not so much at one time. It would be great also if it could be directed to blow the chips directly in the cart> That would save handling it yet again.

Interesting that he said to buy new (sound advice) but his first instinct is to do what he can himself to keep his mower maintained. There are things we pick up from our parents Ryan and it's clear you've acquired your sense of humor from interacting with your Father . I have 5 kids and we had good interactions all of the time and now my kids have all grown up knowing how to be humorous .
We live about 10 minutes E of an airport in a capital (smaller) city so we get plenty of noise from big planes like that and it never ceases to be cool. We also had a fighter plane do a u turn right over our house and VERY low one summer! Thanks to you and dad for sharing the business info because it is pretty universal.

Y’all are cracking me up! When I moved here, I was in the backyard and I had this plane fly over and I thought he was gonna take part of my house scared the daylights out of me. He was so low. I explained it to my husband he was at work. He laughed at me and said, did you not know that we live by Fort Campbell? They do maneuvers. We also have Blackhawks chinooks and other things I know I always pray for them when they’re flying over as a reminder that they’re protecting us.

Hi Marie, those 2 transportation planes are Airbus A400M (sort of European turboprops sized like Boeing C17). The French Armies are starting big military exercise in France with many allies.
Where I live we see planes do that frequently because we live near a heritage war museum with old bombers and other planes they take out frequently to keep them maintained. We also live near Toronto that holds air shows and we are in the area they do turn arounds. It is cool to see them fly low. It was a good idea to talk about business because I know there are many who are starting up tourist businesses and need to hear what your Dad shared.

No Hercules C130 here, those planes are Airbus A400M from French Airforce. Their size are a little smaller than Boeing C17.
