Making a Strawberry-Powered Aquarium (With No Filter)

- Homegrown strawberries taste sweeter when you don't have to remember to water them. This time I setup a small, cube ecosystem using an old, used aquarium I found for free on Marketplace. After ripping out the factory filter, I let it develop its own biological one, complete with aquaponic strawberries.
Follow along as the fish tank develops the natural way; with no filter, and no co2 injection.

Having less videos doesn\t mean he's not just as good or less good than the others. Not all talented aquarium makers have been in youtube for long. There are many out there you don't even know who don't have any channels at all

@Loralanthalas he has used glass cleaners in other videos, so it may not be soap. I wouldn't be shocked if it was somebody keepers friend, which is a product that can remove hard water stains form glass and is apparently aquarium safe seeing as sepradesign uses it. Not sure but I wouldn't be blown away if that's what's happening.

Can I just say, I’m a professional fish enthusiast. Have been for 20years now. Starting young with my grandpa that owned 2 stores.
This dudes vids are absolutely pristine.
The work, the heart and soul, the intelligence and articulation, and especially the film work.
I hope this stays on yt for ever bc I will refer to this till I die.
I really love how you narrated and edited this! The edits and sound effects were charming but not overly flashy or distracting; your narrative tone is very pleasant, a nice meandering manner that sets a nice tone for the video. I'm new to aquascaping and am going to start adding creatures eventually, so I've watched a lot of videos to learn. This one is definitely my favorite. I can't wait to see what else you get up to!

If anyone owns house plants or grows veg and owns an aquarium then you need to water you plants with the water when you do a water change. It's an incredible natural fertilizer! Love this video, subscribed and can't wait for more videos

I cut tops off gallon ice tea bottles to quickly scoop water to plants.

I saw your last video and went to check out your channel because the production value was so impressive and you had such a different, funny style compared to most other aquascaping and aquarium focused youtubers and I was shocked to see you've only uploaded twice, but even more shocked at how close together they were! I just moved across country and unfortunately, as much as I tried, I just couldn't bring my tanks with me. I had to get my fish adopted and I honestly miss them all the time. I found this video and it gave me a happy sort of closure. Very well done and thank you.
Watching these videos sometimes makes me think how cool it would be to be an aquarium fish, living in a nice planted tank, just chilling. No stress, no expectations, just living and doing absolutly nothing lol

what a gem of a channel to stumble onto -- all your scapes are so wonderful! and your video editing is top notch 👌the sounds you add for all the animals really matches them perfectly, you almost forget they're even edited in at all!
massive respect for your commitment to letting tanks cycle naturally, even when it takes some time -- I worked in animal care with a specialty in fish for several years, and i'm currently a water quality technician at an aquarium, and the most painful thing to come across while i'm lookin for chill fish content in my downtime is seeing people fail to resist the urge to be impatient and dump too many animals into a freshly set-up tank all at once. seeing someone do gradual stocking was a pleasant surprise, so kudos to you for that!!
as an aside, i was sooo excited to see chili rasbos pop up in this video! a few years back i had a massive school of em, i got em for cheap cuz apparently they're not as popular as their more colorful cousins, phoenix rasboras, but i loved em so dearly and seeing them all happy and vibrant and colored up nice in this tank was just such a wonderful little throwback for me :''')

This is a wonderfully made short film. I loved all the great shots. You even managed to get a timelapse of the strawberry growing. Bravo.
That strawberry timelapse was such a pain I had to tiptoe around a tripod in my doorway for like a month which is why it's a bit janky lol.

This is one of the best channels I've ever found. The production quality, especially with the use of the macro(?) lenses, all the sound effects and overall calming nature. Oh and the Runescape music is so perfect.

This algorithm is freaky!! I just moved to the desert from the Midwest....used to grow copious amounts of strawberries and was just thinking about getting back into fish keeping after a 10 yr hiatus. Then voila!! This guy has solved ALL of my problems!!! Dead serious.

i absolutely love how you handle your tanks and fish so well. even if it takes trial and error the final result is better than a lot of other things ive seen ! especially on the fact you consider what the fish and shrimp would like in their home, rather than just dropping them in as set dressing LOL
