I've had my Chili Rasbora in a bowl with some shrimp for six months now. The tank has got out of hand with crazy plant growth. It's time to switch it up and this time I'm going to go for a really natural style with very easy maintenance. Hope you like!

I wonder what a 3D image of this bowl aquarium would look like on an MD shirt.!!
I've kept planted bowls for years with nano fish ... not a problem.
I actually loved the biofalls bowl aquariums when they were available... they were amazing little bowls for tiny fish
it is so annoying that the uk left the EU. so it gets so expensive with customs. so I stopped ordering from UK 😥
thoes stones you talk about are rio xingu dennerle, and you took them out of the bag they came from, you did not saved them over time, cuz thats how they come, dirty all same color, once you wash, they become beautifull, why confuse ppl? you made it look like we cant get them, but dennerle can sponsor if you want to
@@homegeographic5351 there are some dennerle along with a load of other stuf I scraped out of a tank. Just being honest really. Mix of what I scooped out.
The thing that makes you different from the other people who are using bowls is you put enough plant so that the plants do all the filtering
Awesome scape, I always thought bowls looked meh but you make every scape look good. I reckon a rainbow or red tail shark scape would be epic 👍
I've got a red tailed shark I'd happily gift away 😅
A balanced system smells like a fresh pond A cross between the smell of freshly cut grass and the smell of rain💯🌱🐠💙🔥
This is such a lovely bowl, and I love how the fish, snails and shrimp go so well in it.
You always inspire me... this build turned out perfect, and the mix of the fish, shrimp and snails were just lovely!
I LOVE your fish bowl builds!!!
Also, the music you chose for this video had a good vibe
You are my favorite aquarist. Love everything you create. You are bringing up my confidence to try what you do. 👍
So relaxing viewing your bowl aquarium and stress out
I love bowl scapes! This one is cute it really looks like its own little world in there, love the cute fish and shrimp and snails
Looks absolutely stunning!
Love the video mate. Started watching you about a week ago as I’m starting up myself by getting 2 musk turtles. Your vids have helped and taught me so much already and can’t wait to see more 🎉
Always appreciated your work ,i learned a lot throughout your vides and setup my own bowl, still learning a lot . Thanks and keep doing the good work. Love from India ❤️
It amazes me that you've only been doing this a few years. I've been doing this for about 40 years. I enjoy my success doing your methods. You are amazing 👏
This is veryvalidating M D! 've kept several bowl aquaria in the past, and in fact have had a very successful one going for almost three years now. Great video. 👍
4-25-22 MD you always amaze me with your creativity. This latest scape is gorgeous. Thanks for another great video!
Absolutely love this bowl tank.
Love this serene scape
Has inspired me to try thanks again MD have a great weekend
Looks awesome. I just happened to have a bowl like this in my basement. I think I'm going to try this.
You've really got the talent MD!!
Chili rasbora's such beautiful and yet simple fish.
Terrific, a snapshot of a underwater scenery in a river or stream
Once more a stunning scape. Nice one MD xxxxx♥️♥️♥️
Love your bowl builds you inspired me to make my own I have snails and cherry shrimp in mine.
Love the bowl and love that some of the Neo's are bigger than the rasbora. 👍👍👍
You inspired me to do a eco system vase, planning on upgrading to a bigger bowl cause it’s doing well. The only problem I have is with my trident fern. It shows some nutrient deficiencys but I don’t wanna use fertilizer in it. It’s a small vase with only ramshorn snails and 3 small cherry shrimp.
i love this deff one of ur best scapes. So realistic, cus most your tanks r overplanted a=but in rivers there r not a lot of plants.
WOW! BEAUTIFUL!
This looks great MD! I’ve never wanted to do a bowl scape until now 😁👍
I'm really starting to learn with the Aquarium trade at least with micro fish and Shrimp Tanks less is more. It's really really easy to go overboard I think in any given tank LESS IS MORE And having the most simple tanks with beginner low light plants has been so rewarding
Love this🙌 thanks for the lighting tips, going to apply them🤘
IV bred sticklebacks in filtered bowls over winter and filmed the whole process I have about 40 fry growing on right now 👍
Lovely bowl set up and those Chili Rasboras are such feisty little fish they make a great show! If only large bowls weren't so expensive.
This looks so nice!
Love your bowl
Wow, that’s impressive. I’m definitely doing this, thanks for posting the Amazon links👍🏼
Yes! These are my favorite vids from you!
Same
Amazing as always 🥰
Love it, I've had a big bowl going for 12 months thanks to your inspiration!
What temp do you keep it ?
@@luukvandijk5171 room temp. I’m in aus so it can get warmish but cool in winter. Only have Medakas and some white clouds in there so don’t need the heater.
I'll give it a go.
As always, great vid mate. Cheers.
thanks just what I needed, right now 💚.
the only thing you forgot to say is about the heater ❤️🔥
Bowls are just beautiful, thinking about picking up a 4 gallon one today. Not sure on stocking yet, but it’s on my mind.
That "cheap" play sand looks freakin' awesome! MTC
Perfect for betta fish
Trident fern will be my next plant amazing looking little fern
You inspired me to get my own fish tank and aquascape it. Also got the merch. Keep on making awesome videos ❤️
An idea for the future. A shell dweller tank might be pretty cool. I think you could make an nice looking epiphyte heavy scape with all those shells
Beautiful and so relaxing
Your so gifted
I have a planted 0.5 gallon tank, started with 2 shrimp now the female has had 2 batches of babies !! I need to setup my 2nd tank asap !
I love the music on the beginning of this video. I love all your videos, but the music is fun today.
Amazing job dudeeeeee
love the way the shrimp look giant compared to the fish... lovely setup..
Nicely done MD! I think we should always be mindful that the health and wellbeing of the fish matter so you must keep the size and behavior of the fish in mind when choosing a tank or bowl. These tiny fish with shrimp and snails are in a wonderful oxygenated healthy environment that takes their growth, size needs and well being in mind along with the tankmates. Responsible fish keeping will always have that as a cornerstone and that is what keeps the fish and the plants healthy as well as brings joy to those in the hobby.
Beautiful Bro..
Such a beautiful scape. Who says you can’t put fish in a bowl? It looks awesome. It looks like fish, shrimp and snails are happy, just as long as they have room to roam free so to speak. And the size of the bowl look like it suit every type of living room - it just fits in a small corner where you don’t know what else to do with
MD can make a cereal bowl look amazing. Fish or shrimp would be buzzing in it
beautiful
just love whatevere ypu make... thanks brother you are the inspiration to me
Обожаю, Ваши видео! Вы -Супер Аква Мэн!!! 😄
Pmg!!! Looks soooo cool. I have ti try one or two.
Amazing. What temp do you keep the bowl/room at? Also do you have a video on how you do the daily water changes on tanks like these?
Can you do a saltwater bowl next? Because I live near the wadden sea and wanna have one with local crap in there. But I can't figure out a way to make it look good and green ...
Cool work Man! Like it 😊
Loved everything about this and I never was a big fan of bowls but you might have changed my opinion.
nice bowl again, how are the big Bowle doing?
I am amazed at how easy and beautiful a planted bowl is.
thanks for the inspiration mine has been running since Christmas.
it is always the one people admire when having guests, even though I have 3 aquariums in the living room and 2 bowls😅
Beautiful
Beautiful, love the music.
Just coming from Instagram 😊.
Nice tank
Love this
Just so Amazed no one has mentioned the Skull in the Middle of the Stone. The Close up view of the tank near the end, It is so Visable! Crazy...
Aweome video!
Enjoyed this vid!
love it, every time I watch one of your videos I'm tempted to start a new tank xD
A reptile heat mat beneath the bowl works well.
This is a great scape, love your videos! Your stuff has inspired me for a while now especially when it comes to plants and getting them to grow, I sadly don't have the equipment or ability to use some lights since I own cats and they would destroy anything living in my tanks if I were to remove the lids
Ok, ok! Love it...
Will you please upload the full video of this whole process of how you grow that much
I have gound your channel couple of days ago and i must say o get a bug from you about setting aquascape🙈 i have already set up one small and try to stabilize it and today i have got 5 little fishes because i can imagine it would be hard to keep plants alive without them( idn-still on learning process on your channel).
I like to say BIG THANK U! You have positive vibes and are so passionate about aqua life so i feel brave enough to get started. Ps. I was trying to get some stuff from your amazon but it was out of stock but i'll be checking regullary.
Cheers
This is amazing!!! Love your channel and what you do! Quick question: What lamp and bowl did your use? Thanks MD!
I think the reason Pearl Weed works so well is because it’s such a fast grower. My tank is so happy when there is a veritable jungle of the stuff! Platys can’t gobble it up faster than it grows!
I SO completely agree with you, MD, about fish in bowls. There are some tiny nano fish that work well in those 5g or less bowls. Goldfish, NO. Bettas in little 1g or 2g bowls (common thing I see), NO. Tiny nano fish in a 3-5g bowl? Absolutely. Especially when it's a balanced, planted environment.
Oh no MD put fish in a bowl!!?? And they look happy lol great job once again sir
Quite new to your channel but your scapes are stunning lol hope I can Scape my new tank as good
Look at MD showing restraint and all that! This is a an elegant scape, well done. It looked more balanced before it was filled and the water magnified the stone so much. Now that it’s such a focal point, what would it look like to attach a small piece of beautiful Buce to that focal stone?
You are right. Something to think about and remember next time. Anything in the centre will be huge. But it's done now so I'll just let it be.
@@MDFishTanks But that rock looks amazing and forms a nice platform for viewing the shrimp who will love to graze on it!
I just wanna say THANK YOU for these amazing videos. I discovered the channel recently and I've been watching the videos non stop 😁, I decided to build one on my own but I lack the knowledge, do you recommend any books for beginners? Thank you again for this awesome videos.
Hey MD! i am enjoying your videos for a few months and in 2 weeks I'll start my first own aquarium full of shrimp aswell. Love your content. Have you ever experimented with freshwater mussels or clams? I am curious about adding some in the future. Greetings from Germany!
Awesome 😍
I light my tank only at evening for 6 n half hours. During the day they have daylight, but its indirect light because i darkened one side of the tank. I never have algae, not a single spot. I also have one fastgrowing plant at the side where i can easily remove it, and a bunch off slow growers all over the tank. Its 240 liter with only nano fish and some ancistrus. Always clean and acitve healthy fish. I find keepin it simple is the best method in the hobby.
I really love your video... Thank you,,Sir
Say it loud for the people in the back, MD.👏👏
Love it.
The actual name of that "pasta" is "tortellini". Awesome italian food 😉😂.
Awesome scape by the way!!
You know what, I was sure that's how it was pronounced 🤣
@@MDFishTanks Perfect indeed!!
Can you do a video on test kits and what normal values are?
nice set up, thanks. What do you do about the temperature of the water straight from the tap for water changes etc? Presumably it lowers the temp?
Got my stuff ready, bowl, stones, substrate, wood, just need plants and fish 🙂
This would be excellent group science project: design your self sustaining ecosystem
that "stones" is rio xingu, by dennerle, cheep and beautifull, BUT it comes with broken quartz, sharp, and cory might get hurt, thats why you need to take it out. the quartz is white most of it
