Wearing that seat-belt on the start of every clip seemed like a good habit that Vic would try to pass on to his viewers and I 've always liked it as a little detail. I had no idea it was unintentional. I still like it though.

One of the biggest problems we have is the bleached versions of American history that is being taught in schools, everything is changed or "prettied up" to make it easier or less messy to teach to grade school children. Even at the high school level most American history is very sanitized. So many of the "mutants" out there don't have a real grasp on REAL history. I'm still learning everyday, between moments of disgust, and swelling pride...I do my best to be better educated. Thanks for doing your part to help clarify the misinformation!

I made this same argument the other day . These people were traitors to the nation . In Germany they don’t have statues of hitler they have plaques outside houses with the names of the Jewish families that lived there and were displaced killed or captured from there homes. When you go to a sporting event you see the banners of the years the team won the championship not the banners of all the years they lost ! It’s insane that we name things after the traitors of this nation and build statues to memorialize it . It’s pure insanity . I hope change is coming because id like the world to be a better place for my small children .

I see your point but if we want to split hairs, Washington, Franklin, Jefferson *were* traitors. They were subjects of the British Crown. When they signed the Declaration of Independence, they pledged their "lives and sacred honor" to the cause of independence. So the only difference between Washington and Lee (although a better comparison may be to Jefferson Davis) is that Washington won his war rejecting his lawfully instituted government and Lee (or Davis) didn't.
The United States won that war, they get to decide who the traitors are. The United States won the Civil War too, and the same thing applies. We do not celebrate our enemies. This is the difference. Unfortunately, some people just can't let the traitorous statues go even though it makes no sense for them to exist in this country. These people should feel bad, but they don't. That is so sad.

Thank you Vic. Just this past Sunday at a gathering of old friends of mine one of them brought up the confederate flag and voice his anger about it being removed from Nascar. I ask that person if they thought that was the original confederate flag and as most blind followers they had no clue to what i was talking about. Then I explained it in way that mimicked what you just explained. Needless to say I'm no longer on that person's Xmas card list. Keep up the good work.

So well put, Vic! This is exactly true! I have been a major history buff since I was a kid and could not agree more. Teaching history (including bad history) is critically important, but glorifying it is not. There is zero reason to have statues to traitors.

Throughout my education i was taught this. I was in high school between 2007 and 2011. I'm pretty sure i learned this also in junior high. Im pretty sure its still taught in school, but some people at home are taught differently on how to feel towards something.
