  • I found another bottle of the 30% variety, and this is my favorite blend. Very strong, and concentrated for a great clean, and even better smell. Don't be fooled by the Original Pine Sol sold in stores now, this is the real deal. Another way to celebrate 2,000 subscribers by cleaning with the good stuff.
Thanks for stopping by to watch, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell!

Man, I remember everything about that stuff. The bottle shape, the cap, and of course the clouds. How far we've regressed!

For sure! I remember my grandmother using Pine Sol of this vintage, especially the cloudy toilet water. Smells like she just got done cleaning house, after using this, just in time for The Price Is Right. Yeah, sad to think of how far things have regressed.

@@dynatrak I vaguely remember the cloudy toilet water. My grandmother used to come every weekend to take care of my sister and I, and similar stuff would go on. I remember being very young, and my mother would give my sister and I a bath, then make us a grilled cheen sandwich with Nestle's Quik (of course the powder in the metal container)--just in time for either Wheel of Fortune, or the Friday evening sitcoms on TV. My sister and I still have fond memories of that. That was the best damn grilled cheen in the world!
My mother didn't mop the kitchen floor incessantly, only when necessary. But she did vacuum once a week. And put the laundry on first, and vacuum while it was running. I remember there was a period of time where, practically without fail, she would pop a breaker, because the washing machine happened to be on the same circuit as the vacuum cleaner. You'd think that after that happening 2 or maybe 3 times, she'd try to pick a different outlet, but that's only what someone with some sense would do. It took many more times of that happening for her to catch on.

@@jaykay18 Oh yeah, my grandmother had the powdered Quik in stock all the time. Had to pry off the metal cap with a spoon. 1982-83 school year, I had afternoon kindergarten, so after The Price Is Right, she'd make a fine, and dandy grilled cheen. Other than grilled cheen, she'd take me to a long defunct Mexican food place, Taco Plaza, and order me some nachos to take back to the house. I recall it was at the beginning of that school year, or the very end, during the warm months, she'd pick me up, so I could see the AC faen running. That's when the Arkla Servel gas air conditioner was still going. Still think of that to this day. You can get an idea of my point of view, watching my recent AC startup.
That's hilarious about her not connecting the dots about the vacuum, and washer running simultaneously, on the same circuit. Then tripping the breaker, continuing to do the same thing over, and over. I guess one day, the bulb dimly lit long enough for her to _try_ a different outlet?

@@dynatrak Yep, I remember prying off the metal top with a spoon too! Funny how you mention a particular game show. The one I remember in Kindergarten was Body Language. I was overjoyed when they started showing that again on TV! Oh I totally get it with the A/C! My dad used to pick me up so I could see things too!
I think I was actually the deciding factor in that, I told her to defer vacuuming until the clothes were put in the dryer. At that time, it was an electric dryer with its own 240 volt line. No more tripped breakers. Funny thing is that prior to about 1985 or so, the breaker never used to trip. That's because back then we had a Eureka canister vacuum she would use. (BTW that's still around, and still worked last I knew). But somehow she got the Electrolux bug, and somehow convinced my dad to shake a few Shekels out, and they still have that Electrolux to this day. Obviously, the Lux had something like a 454 big block under the hood, compared to the Eureka's small 6-cylinder. BONUS: Never made a video of it, but the wif and I received an Aerus Lux Classic vacuum for our wedding gift, it's the 2005 version of what my parents have.

That's pretty neat that you found a old bottle to clean your floors with. I have never used it but it seems quite nice. Where did you happen to buy it? A thrift store wouldn't sell something like this.

Thanks! I've found vintage cleaners at estate sales, and ebay.
