The most iconic commercial of all time man, been riding Oblivion for 10 years, it never gets old! I just really hope they never close her, she's not so popular anymore, queue times were down to less than 5 minutes last week, all day, Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita etc are all 30 minutes or more in comparison.
CM Dell it won’t be taken down for maybe another 10-15 years as they spent millions to construct it and they wouldn’t just take it down for queuing times, plus it’s still modern unlike say Corkscrew and The Black Hole were when they were torn down
I don't think they will, it's one of the main attractions and the reason queue times are shorter is cuz it's a fairly short ride and it carries 16 at a time!
It may not seem like a lot but it's easy to forget that back in the 90's, for a rollercoaster to drop vertically that far down was a big deal. The drop still gets my adrenaline going. :)

Feet and height do not matter. Theming, sensation, g's, thrills do. This ride is not 450 feet tall and no it is not 2 feet tall if you're trying to be sarcastic or 100 as you probably mean (180 feet to be precise) but it, along with the supreme buildup was a sensation for its time and along with nemisis, is still regarded as one of the best roller coasters to date. You build huge tall roller coasters every year, we build up and give them a 'proper' sensation. God Bless Everyone

the first time i went on this i was scared as hell. i was on the front row, on the second seat in from the right, i think the thing that makes it most scary is you just go round the bend really slowly, and see the tracks dissappear (when your hanging over the drop) scary stuff. I love when you go down - adrenaline rush ;)

Anyway, you are falling at around 88 mph (give or take half a mile per hour) so, before you'v realised you are falling, you are at a camera with your eyes streaming from the speed and indeed the spray inside the tunnel. One tip: DON'T WATCH THE TVS!
You know why you can't look down because if you look down then you might scream. Alton Towers was a beautiful place in 1960s and now in 2000s 2010s 2020s the Alton Towers was extremely loud so in the place in the old garden people can rest. The Xsector is the closest place to the garden is oblivion
@oOToXSiiCkOo No, what happens is.... you go up on a track to about 180 feet, you then hang over the edge of a huge hole in the middle of the ground, you then drop down- your whole body is as if you were stood on a wall, its all facing the ground- you then go into the hole, its brilliant

American rides maybe bigger than ours that dont make them better, our rides hav the same g-forces which is all that really matters when creating an intense ride and we hav also built sum revolutionary worlds 1st rollercoaster types!

I think the queue lines are shorter because oblivion seats a lot of people and is quite short compared to the others
