I currently work at alton towers operating smiler, nemesis and oblivion and can honestly say more people are scared to go on this than smiler even after the smiler incident but because i operate the rides its nothing new to me to see people scared 😂 great job tho love meeting new people and i love to help calm people down before they ride and i always double check restraints to make sure you feel 100% safe :)

+Teenage mutant Furry Gamer (Valour 1984) it's sad cause in like the late 90s and early 2000s the queues for this ride were pretty huge so you had time to experience all this. From about 2012 onwards the queue time rarely gets above 0 minutes.
I had to tell my sister and her friend to try there best to ignore everything he's saying, that he's there to intimidate you and put fear in your mind. It's best just to keep walking if you can and if you have a friend with you keep talking to them especially if you're afraid of heights or intimidated by the ride itself. This guy was a good pick for oblivion and does make fear a reality just walking through. Push through and get on it you'll love the oblivion experience.

So I was so knackered I wanted to curl up on a bench on the million dollar midway and sleep. I rode Valravn hoping it would wake me up a bit, but on the brake run after I was yawning.
I did it very first thing, then very last thing, front row each time, end seat first time. The first time was amazing, what a rush after 9 years without riding a coaster. I was like "damn, is this hobby really for me?!" The second ride was still good, but nothing like the first. I was hooked though, Ride On!
Shame the soundtrack isnt as loud in the station as it used to be..... Used to love hearing the low end bass from that Bose subwoofer hanging over the exit gate!

The real ride isn’t that bad, it’s just a burst of joy and adrenaline on the drop, you feel great and daredevilous! It’s a feeling of victory and strength, and dominance, don’t worry Alton do this just for the design. If it wasn’t safe it would be closed and the park would be fined
