Manual says don't leave it unattended which is not good but don't see any bright red heating element in it guess cuz it has a fan built into it .I have a small L shaped 113 sq ft kitchen and it's heating it up pretty good on low setting and unit it not hot to touch at all unless u turn it on high.
I have had 2 and they only lasted a winter each time.They quite working
