@@OrigamiAhsokathat’s what got me too. Like I know about the legal difference in Japan, but they should’ve known that keeping the age difference for English audiences would be problematic
I still maintain that aging Regina up would only have been a bandage on a gaping wound. This girl is way too naive and sheltered to have this many people thinking she’s mature enough for relationships and marriage. Even if she were 20, I’d still be side-eyeing her suitors as predatory.
I agree it would have made things less creepy on the surface, it wouldn’t fix the actual problem in this case.
@@Rikrobat To me, the ideal fix is to eliminate Max and Ben as suitors, it adds nothing to the story anyways, and make Bat the same age as her. His actions does match someone with the maturity of a teenager anyways.

@@jedisalsohere Him being mad makes perfect sense, but holding it against Regina is kinda strange when A) it was Bat's idea to stick his head in Léon's mouth and B) it's been noted that Regina is totally naïve and doesn't/can't understand the full weight of what happened. There's definitely a better way to teach Regina about mortality than to slip a note in her pocket calling her a murderer. Also, the whole "committing his own murder" bit that's gonna be discussed in court soon, that's definitely not a proper way to vent your frustration about your brother being put in a coma.

There's no way anyone watching the trial has access to a fridge, so those milk cartons are just going to be getting rank in that courtroom.
Actually, a case in Ace Attorney Investigations will later establish that the courthouse has a vending machine that includes cartons of milk in its offerings, so hopefully they’re just buying them from there!

Ooh boy I cant wait til this case is over. Besides all the....other stuff surrounding this case, i remember this honestly being one of the sadder cases due to the motive.
So I haven't played this game before, but I think it's pretty obvious that Léon inhaled some pepper and sneezed when Bat stuck his head in his mouth. I'm not sure how that's related to the current case. Maybe Acro blamed Regina for the pepper, then wrote her that note and expected it to be her in the courtyard instead of her father
The localizers/translators made a weird choice changing ramen to burgers, but leaving certain ages the same. They could've made Max and Bat younger, or Regina older. Ben can stay a creep.
Regina aged up to 20 would have made more sense, and really drilled home that she needed to face reality.
@@togliz I was thinking more like have either Regina be aged up to 18 (still fits with the young/naive thing she has going on, but is the age when you're expected to start letting go of immature ideas/beliefs), or aging Max down to 18 and Bat 19, just to make them less of creeps, at least have them all still technically be in their teens. And, like I said before, Ben can stay a creep. Because he'd have to be aged down AT LEAST a decade before his age was close enough for it to go from massive mega creep to regular creep.
Reminds me of how the DiC dub of Sailor Moon made Darien/Mamoru a college student, when he was supposed to be in high school the Japanese version... when Serena/Usagi was still a middle schooler ಠ_ಠ

I know! I never looked at the ages on my first playthrough either, so I was just creeped out by the characters pursuing Regina when she has such a stunted understanding of the world. Finding out about the age differences added a WHOLE NEW layer of horror to it!

One shitty thing in this trial, that gets lost in the sea of predators lurking around a child, is how they harass Acro about his legs, and how fundamentally they make his injury a part of the trial/investigation. This isn't related, but I tried to blend orange peel and cucumber together with ice and water. I don't recommend it. 🤮Might've been better to combine the orange peel with something sweet and fruity like strawberry. With things being so expensive, I still drank it, though.
Orange peel on its own tends to quite bitter - if the peel is all you have I’d recommend just scraping off a very small amount of zest (which is the orange part on the outside of the peel). It’s also bitter by itself, though, so I’d recommend only using a *tiny* bit.
That would be because cucumber in a drink is disgusting no matter what you do with it.

I don't know if this is a hot take considering all the other problematic and annoying characters in this case, but I actually hate Regina the most out of all the characters.
It's certainly not her fault that a bunch of creeps are hitting on her (and she really shoulda just been aged up to 25 or something), but her whole "tee hee so pure" demeanor is *incredibly* obnoxious.
Siccing animals on people and laughing it off is just a shitty thing to do. She can't communicate any useful information at all and her naivete is in large part just being too self-absorbed to pay attention to other people.
Trilo is a close second, and Max a third, but Regina always annoys me.
Steve and Angel can be a bit annoying at times...
Steve with his constant need to re-read lines and the loud parody voice of the "Angry CZcams Viewer"...
Angel with the excessive "thinking sounds" like "hmmmm" and the constant clicking or "tsk" sounds...
All of the inside jokes don't help either...
