@@Ayana-LTLAThe only excuse I can think of as to why they haven’t brought Tomodachi Life to the switch yet is because the original game utilized the 3DS/2DS’s two screen feature which the Switch doesn’t have

Miis have been so underutilized on the Switch. Miitopia single handedly brought second life to the Miis and I wish that game's super elaborate Mii Maker comes to the Switch's successor!
Same, I'm genuinely so disappointed that Tomodachi Life 2 with Miitopia creator options(and LGBTQ+ Miis of course) didn't come out after Miitopia Switch did. Huge missed opportunity, I genuinely believe it would've been a huge viral money maker like Miitopia Switch was.
@@BinglesP I've always joked that it never came out because Nintendo promised if they eve rmade a sequel they'd add LGBT mii's, and they just didn't want to do that lol.
I never bought the first one because I couldn't give them money knowing they did not allow gay mii's to be together.

I'm a big fan of Hamburger Mii. It doesn't look right anymore with the Switch's Mii creation but it's good enough.

There was plenty to complain about in the Wii/3DS/Wii U era of Nintendo, but I will always appreciate their dedication to Miis as avatars back then. It was so charming. The Switch re-release of Miitopia felt like maybe we were getting some of that back, but then Switch Sports came out and Miis felt like an afterthought inclusion compared to the Sportsmates, so alas...
Yeah the thing i love about miis is how customizable, yet SIMPLE they are
You can make pretty much anyone human (or even non human with enough creativity), but it isnt extremely complex and hard like a lot of character makers out there

@@fyra_cat2119 I'd say the Miitopia mii maker is a bit more complex, but it has enough shapes to work with to make just about anything, especially if you have a reference handy.
ever since the miitopia re make I want so much more. Makeup and wigs have started the “mii-renaissance” and nintendo is too blind to see it.
Instead they gave us Nintendo switch sports.

8:55 Pilotwings was originally a SNES game, which I was able to play via the NSO service.
And Tomodachi was originally a DS game, one of the very few DS games that used Miis.

i remember playing the snes pilotwings as a kid and not knowing how to control any of the vehicles, but after replaying it recently, it holds up pretty well

I've been replaying miitopia on my switch recently, and god, just making miis is so much fun. I remember spending 30 hours in the demo just making miis for the full game. If they ever brought tomodachi life back with the miitopia mii maker, I would be extremely happy.

Tomodachi Life still has a very dedicated fanbase who play regularly to this day. I hope Nintendo brings it back. A Miitopia sequel would be fantastic, too.
I'd take either one! I liked Tomodachi Life quite a bit, and I loved Miitopia! (Please Nintendo, make a Miitopia 2, it has so much potential!)
I'm a dedicated fan and I haven't ever even played it. I've considered for several years getting a 3DS solely for Tomodachi Life so I can play it, but I've been holding out for news for TL on Switch which has not happened yet 🥹 I'm suspecting if Nintendo releases TL at all, they'll hold it for Switch 2.

Me too. I have so many great memories of bashing people with swords in the sword play game and shooting arrows in the archery game. The environments were so cool and creative. I wish they would bring it back. Or at the very least, just another game utilizing the miis to their fullest potential.

After Switch Sports released when people were screaming at Nintendo saying how bad the sportsmates are, I hope it made Nintendo realize how much Mii’s are still loved and how so many people want them back. I miss games like Tomodachi life and Wii sports resort.

Genuinely such good controller design. Unless next gen is the Wii switch u, we’re never getting double screen, intentional touch screen, or custom control ui again. Playing Zelda with on-the-fly inventory made amazing gameplay. Virtual console ds worked so well. & the way the gamepad let u play games differently or with additional features makes me appreciate every part wii u games.
Everytime it’s bought up, I always have 2 gush about it. The Wii u was a cult classic when it released & 4 a reason.

Wii sports resort was always one of my favorites. I already enjoyed the first Wii sports, but when I found out about resort and all the new games it had I couldn’t put it down. Swordplay was easily the one I spent the most time with, smacking around all the other miis and having duels was the peak Wii sports experience

I absolutely adore Miis. They’re one of the best aspects about Nintendo, right up there with Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong and other Nintendo IPs. I really hope we get more Mii focused games in the near future. We really need a Tomodachi Life sequel and just more new Mii focused games in general (A 3D sand box or open world adventure game similar to Mario Odyssey or Zelda TOTK with full body outfit customization and Miitopia’s wig and make up system would be a really cool idea for a new Mii game).

does anyone else remember the game "wii play"? for some reason, i almost never hear anyone talking abt it but it was a HUGE part of my childhood along w wii sports. the games on it were super fun (especially the fishing game which is probably the most iconic minigame from it) and i really wish it got more love since it seems super underrated
A ton of people bought Wii Play because it came with a controller. It just didn't impress people. I liked it for a while, put I didn’t go back to it the way I grinded out points in Wii Sports.
Tank game was great, but I was too young to be good at it. Pool and fishing were also somewhat entertaining

I just recently started tomodachi life and I share the same sentiment, if a tomodachi life sequel with miitopia makeup features releases that would be the greatest thing of all time

Don't normally comment but wanted to say this is one of my favorite videos youve ever made. Had the perfect amount of editing (not too much or too little and the edits themselves were great) and it was really, really nice to just hear you talk about something a little niche/specific that you really care about. I miss Miis too. If it were up to me, when lockdowns began I would have made a Wuhu Resort bundle game with HD versions of Wii Sports Resort, Pilotwings Resort, and a spiritual successor to Vegas Stakes.

Kinda surprised peebs didn’t mention the two wuhu island tracks in Mario Kart 7, Wuhu Loop and Maka Wuhu, both of these courses are some of the strongest tracks in series history in my opinion and it’s such a shame they didn’t return in MK8
One of my weirdest memories was playing Wii Sports with a cousin and he threw himself around the room when we played tennis as if he was inside the game. He fortunately never got hurt 😅

Your Tomodachi Life video from way back was the first thing I ever saw from you, it’s crazy to still be here 10 years later. Me and mates revisited the game a couple years ago and had a blast with it and Miitopia is legitimately one of my favourite games, so it’s a real shame how pushed aside the Miis have become. You’d think there’d be more Mii games than ever nowadays with how many people out there that have a nostalgic connection to them.
One of my favorite games as a kid was the cycling in Wii Fit Plus - you could explore all of Wuhu on a bike, and there were a ton of little secrets and areas to explore.

Literally everyone does man. We won’t get Tomodachi on switch, it’ll be next system if we do ever get one, but I miss the eras of them being the defacto mascots of Nintendo. So charming.
I'm not planning on getting the Switch 2 at launch because I know it'll be hell trying to get one and it'll be expensive (probably $400), but I swear if they release TL as a launch title for the Switch 2 or sometime the same year, I'm getting it immediately.
Well also only if it has backwards compatibility. I don't see why it won't, but it's a necessity.

The joy of Tomodachi life dwindles with each passing year, since unless you restart there's nothing new to add besides new miis and just abusing every feature out there (since i dont usually do the songs i would have to if i want to squeeze everything out of it).

I recently found out there was a Japanese exclusive “Tomodachi Collection” which is actually just tomodachi life for the original DS. It’s of course missing some features but it’s so cool to see that the Mii maker was possible on the ds. I’ve played a little of the fan translation and there are of course some things that aren’t translated, but overall it’s very similar and I’d honestly say just as fun.

I played Tomodachi Life so much when I was younger, and I remember becoming really good at making Miis just because I liked making them so much and stretching the limits of how many things I could make out of the given tools.
I'm still on that "Tomodachi Life 2 + Miitopia Makeup + LGBTQ+ Options" copium. If it never happens, I hope there could be a fangame or a super elaborate ROM Hack for it someday.
Knowing Nintendo's business model of hating their fans, if we start saying we DON'T want Tomodachi Life 2, they might just give it to us.
