There's a Japanese exclusive Chibi-Robo game on the DS that's like a direct sequel to the Gamecube game where the little girl is now an adult and I loved it. There's a fan translation if you wanted to check it out!
"Clean Sweep" is the fan translation title for those wondering.
There's also Park Patrol, which was a Walmart exclusive for some reason.
Park Patrol is a good one. That's the only chibi robo game I have, and i enjoyed playing it quite a bit. It is not like that first game, though
I just wish I knew how to run emulators and install rom patches. :c

I’m surprised people disliked Wii Music. Me and my brother sunk hours into that game as kids and often had a blast with it. Though I do probably feel like it’s one of those games where it won’t be as good if revisited.
It’s not a bad game at all, it’s just really simple. It’s a perfect game for kids and families, but maybe not the best for adults and advanced/professional musicians
To be fair, I personally found it more fun after I revisited it as an adult who could play it better.
i can assure you it's so much fun if you play it right (aka not actually trying to sound good just making the most horrifying monstrosities you can)

Please make this a series. This video was a blast to watch. I totally remember playing Chibi Robo Photo Finder as a kid. I had a lot of fun with it, even though most of my nostaljunk was cobblestone because I could never get the lighting right. XD

Fun fact: I actually collected all the Animal Crossing amiibo because I thought that they'd do something in New Horizons with how much they dropped the ball with amiibo Festival. Turns out, no. They're still extremely underutilized.
They're only needed for two things:
1. Summoning specific villagers so that you can curate your village, which means you'll use them once.
2. Using them in Harv's photo booth, where you're otherwise limited in who can be included in your photos (just your villagers, not even the shop owners or admins), and you need them every time, but also no one uses it that much in the first place.

Dude, that Wii crash sound brought back so much nostalgia. Like when my brother and I played the vs mode in Lego Star Wars 3 and had so many troops and buildings it was literally too much for the Wii to handle!

I remember my sister and I would always fight over who got to be the largest on the album covers in Wii Music. It got so bad that our parents had to take the game away. Haven’t played it in years.
Wii Music actually lets you get rid of the "stupid egg people" and lets you pick and play every instrument yourself. you can even change which Mii you use for each part. wild that the game has such long tutorials and still somehow didn't communicate this feature properly

I'm sure that some people have already pointed this out, but there's a spiritual successor to the Zelda CD-i games called "Arzette." They even got the voices for Link and Zelda for that game. You should totally make a video on it once it's released.

6:48 The two DS games are straight up sequels in the style of the OG and definitely worth a playthrough if you're a fan of the series (though you have to find a fan-patch to play the second one in english). Ziplash is a fine 2D platformer, it just has no reason to be a Chibi-Robo game.
Honestly I kinda enjoyed Wii music. Some of the songs, although royalty free, are actually pretty good, and some of the games are cool too.
I would give this video a 10 but with that Teemu ad I'm going to have to lower that chief you can do better man

I think the board game section just needs more to it, if you could pull some mario party type bullshit on other players and the game was a lot harder to gain points I feel like it would have been actually fun, the only reason I played the board game part was to unlock desert island escape which in my opinion should have just been expanded upon and made the main mode cause it is infinitely better than the actual board game
@@spoingelerboibfunnily enough, they ported and expanded Desert Island Escape to New Leaf in that one big update, so there’s basically no reason to buy Amiibo Festival.
@@spoingelerboib Believe me, there IS mario party bullshit in the game, it's just very specific. I was playing the game with my sister, and one of those unlucky event spaces that was near the beach made me lose all my bells, literally, the event was basically "oh no, you tripped and all your bells floated away!" which also made me lose like, half my happy points.
The game does have some strategy, like using luck to your favor and stuff like that, but it needs way more of that stuff to be interesting.

Chibi Robo Park Patrol on DS is worth checking out. It's NOTHING like the first game but it's super enjoyable if you like light management games with some sim stuff. I liked it a lot. Also the Japan only sequel is good, there's a translation patch and it plays a lot like the first game, shame we never got it here.

After seeing the trailer for the Arzette game coming out, Im genuinely shocked that people hold onto the CDI games as internet masterpieces. The game looks sick though, you should make a video when it comes out
Hi, a genuine Zelda CDi and Hotel Mario fan here. Part of it has to do with the ironic reason that the cutscenes are very much an iconic part of my childhood, but another part of it is that there is a genuine (if small) fandom for these games, including speedrunners and a guy how made a remake of the games that fixed a lot of the issues that the original had. Furthermore, the music for those games are pretty great. The tunes might not be particularly fitting for a Mario or Zelda game, but are pretty neat nonetheless.

@@zeldagameryt4018 Yeah, pretty much. Plus, due to the fact that both games were rushed out, yet they are both functionally playable, they provide a decent challenge to the speedrunners of the community.
In the Zelda CDi's case, the games' difficult platforming makes for a unique challenge, while Hotel Mario's spike in difficulty in the final levels mean that there is no room for error if you want to achieve a world record.
If you want to see a speedrun of the games, there is no one better than _Grumpmeister_ for that. He knows them inside and out, and implements all the tricks in the book to get the best gaming experience out them.
I recently revisited the original Mario Party on the N64 with my partner, and ngl it just put everything about Amiibo Festival in perspective. Mario Party is chaotic, the minigames are exciting, you have to plan which route you take and sabotage other players, and Amiibo Festival is just… tap and hope you get points. And no, I don’t think the argument of Amiibo Festival being for kids is valid; kids deserve media with substance!

Amiibo Festival is a lot of fun if you pretend it's a life/death situation where every decision will radically change the world around you and you scream/cheer everytime something happens. Then again, you could probably say that for most bad games so that may not be a point in its favor.

I think Hotel Mario isn’t a badly-designed game. It’s just held back by being, y’know, on CD-I. If it was on SNES, no one would bat an eyelash at the idea of Mario in an Elevator Action like game.

At least for my personal history, the reveal of Wii Music marks the official end of the 'old'/classical era of gaming. I was on the couch with my now ex-gf watching this together and we were just cringing at each other, before that word was even used, and I asked her "So does this, like, look fun to you since you don't play many games?" and she was like "uuuuuhhhh no what the hell is this, is it even a game???" lol
From there, monetization, mobile games, motion and touch controls, and crystallized big biz pretty much took over the game industry.

I don't know why, but I liked Chibi-Robo photo finder. It's probably because I never played any other games in that franchise. The usage of AR was kind of fun. It was just a good mindless way to pass the time, mostly. I got through a lot of the game at work while sitting in a spotlight booth waiting to do something.
The strange thing about the Nostaljunk mechanic is that today, when I boot up the game, the items in the museum actually became nostalgic for me. There is an old T-shirt that I took a picture of to fulfill one of the requirements that fell apart long ago, but it's immortalized in this game.
It's not a good game. I don't recommend this to really anybody. There are a lot of better games out there. But there are some charming, quirky parts that stuck with me. So, you know, there's that.
