    Absolute Classic. Really does capture the time period perfectly too. I am from that era too and it's very authentic.

      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      Ow that’s really cool! It does feel like it was very authentic. Even the way the characters spoke. But never have been there you never know for sure what’s authentic and what’s for the screen.

    Ooan? Edinsberg? Benji? What am I listening to?

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      Other then the Benji thing (which I corrected) thats how I say Edinburgh. People do have accents my friend. I’m sorry that’s all you took away from this video. Thanks for watching!

    • @jonathanclarke4529
      @jonathanclarke4529 Před 5 měsíci +2

      Nah the video was otherwise fine but pronouncing Ewan as Ooan then later Ewing and Edinburgh as edinsburg is not an accent issue. I’ll let you be a real fan of this film when you can pronounce Edinburgh properly at least ;)

      I can’t tell if you’re trying to be rude or just funny. If it’s funny I can appreciate that. I love jokes even at my own expense but if not, You do realize that people do make mistakes. This is a 20 minute video that took 3 hours to edit. I don’t follow a script so it sometimes a word comes out wrong and I can’t fix it in the edit. Most people understand that. I appreciate the criticism. If I criticize other people’s work for living I should be able to take it as well. Just food for thought, these reviews take a lot of effort.

    Worst Packaging of the year award goes to Trainspotting from Criterion. Super disappointed when I opened my copy today.

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci +3

      I’m really surprised that this is what they went with. It looks out of place with other Criterion releases.

    • @TPRErik
      @TPRErik Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yeah that looks pretty terrible. For the the best/worst this year are the Avatar re-releases. They are simply stunning but the way they hold the discs are the absolute worst.

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      Which is the most important part lol. I hate it when you have to slide the disk on something. I know that 4Ks are hard to scratch but I don’t want to risk it.

    • @Dessan01
      @Dessan01 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Agree absolute garbage - that catch thing you need to open and close it will be destroyed in a few years. 4K discs in those awful sleeves is always good news 🙄 it’s so fragile it arrived dinged to hell, and mine had some mild orange paint smudging on the front (guessing from the conveyor belt) I imported to the UK and it’s a super hastle to return, so will be keeping but if it wasn’t for that I would send back in a heart beat. Will be very careful with criterion going forward, they are getting super lazy.

      I really have no idea how this packaging was approved, you could have kept the core design with the colors and art work but just using deferent packaging lol. They have great digi-books, could have just used that packaging design lol. It even is taller and wider so it doesn’t even look right next to other Criterion releases.

    I played this tonight using my Samsung Q930C soundbar and something weird was going on with the 2.0 track. The music in the movie was playing fine but the dialogue was muffled out, as if the centre dialogue channel wasn't firing.

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      that’s very strange. Did you try a different film after that one? To check if it was the disk or the soundbar.

    • @benpascall4297
      @benpascall4297 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia yes I did. I tried the new conan disc and played the mono and the Atmos and both were fine. I'd watched the Second Sight High Tension before which was also fine. For some reason the sound bar just has a problem with the Trainspotting 2.0 track (the 5.1 was fine). Every other disc (probably 100+ now) since I upgraded the soundbar a few months ago has been fine.

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      @benpascall4297 hmmmmm I tested out my 2.0 track and it worked fine. I also have a Samsung Sound bar and I didn’t have an issue. Could be a faulty disk. I’m sure Criterion would replace it.

    Trainspotting is a great film! Definitely a staple of 90s cinema and the soundtrack as you say was brilliant. I havent seen it in a while, need a rewatch. Definitely some disturbing scenes in this. The cast and writing was brilliant.

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      I can recommend just the new blu ray if you want this collection. A lot of good extras buddy! The Cast really is incredible, They all play their parts just perfectly and the movie just flys bye. I’m going to have to rebuy the album because it’s not on apple music lol

      @shamrockballs1066 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I might look into that mate, I'm due an upgrade, I have the original DVD release (I think), must be 20 years old lol. Came with the screenplay! Yeah, its been a long while since I've listened to the soundtrack, such nostalgia for me in the 90s!

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci

      @shamrockballs1066 The music is what makes me nostalgic and that screenplay was apparently really tough to adapt from the book the writer was saying. It does seem like a tough movie to make but it came out almost perfect.

    • @shamrockballs1066
      @shamrockballs1066 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia Its definitely quintessential 90s Britain, with the Britpop and rave scene. Irvine Welsh wrote the novel in each characters dialect lol I started reading the sequel (not T2, the official sequel) years ago and it was so difficult to follow. But I was a lot younger then and not much of a reader. But I think that is where the difficulty may have been.

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @shamrockballs1066 That would be tough for sure then. Screenwriters don’t get enough credit for taking a novel of that nature and bringing it to the screen. I think they did a good job making every character feel unique and individual. There’s a movie in here where it’s just Ewan McGregors overcoming the odds and his mates are just generic characters and even with the wrong choice in actors that could have happened.

    Love this movie and T2! I kind of like the Criterion DigiPack as well (different). So, T2 is available in the UK on 4K and the extra Blu-ray is apparently region free (Amazon), but not sure who did the transfer. I'm also not sure about the Criterion T1, if the Blu-ray is region free? I hope being an epic cult film set in the UK, that this Criterion T1 4K release makes it to the UK like some others, e.g. (Lone Star)...

    • @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia
      @LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Unfortunately the Blu ray that is packed in is Region A. I wish it wasn’t. I was just talking to someone about region locked blu rays because i’ll import 4Ks but can’t always watch the blu rays even though sometimes they will be labeled region B and still work sometimes. Im hoping to get T2 in a nice set like this one day. It deserves it. I think I would have liked the Digi Book more if it just was a little Thicker. It feels very Fragile lol.

      @LaughMuBai I would love that!! If it’s nice to I would double dip! Yea definitely no T3. Honestly I still can’t believe they made T2. That would of been near the top of my I don’t think this will ever get a sequel list lol
