- My Complete Mouth Care System. Developed over decades from experience as a dentist for 40+ years and being tired of seeing people suffer with oral health problems. I decided to create a mouth care system that would stop oral health problems, prevent and reverse gum recession, plaque, cavities and create clean, white and healthy teeth. This video will go into detail about every step of the Complete Mouth Care System, how it works and why it is important to follow. The last step is the use of Act mouthwash. It is important to choose the correct mouthwash, and this mouthwash is probably the most important mouthwash to use for your oral health.

Thank you so much for your advice and recipe. I can’t say how much I needed this right now.
Wow DR. Ellie, you are a legend for all this information. After not taking great care of my teeth, never having learned as a child how to correctly, I am excited to try your system. I was taught to rinse my mouth with water after brushing. I have an incredibly healthy diet these days due to health reasons, and just had all my really bad cavities filled and spent a bunch of money after not visiting the dentist for over a decade except for emergencies. I have been using flouride free toothpaste for like 2 years, as I'm scared of it, (I also don't drink tap water for that reason) and you've convinced me to make the jump back to it and your system as a whole. Thanks again, I'll be ordering the mints and buying all the products tomorrow to start this system daily!

Stay away from fluoride
@@josecenteno9043 As I said in my post, I do. I've never/will never ingest fluoride

@@charismatic9467 At DrEllie.com I have an oral health video bootcamp with a 20 minute video to explain more about fluoride - my experiences with it early on and my understanding of how to use it for our benefit and the difference when we ingest vs. topical.
Acquired the rinses, brushes and mints and the cycle of placque has been broken. My teeth feel shiny, slippery. I’m 61, disappointed in about getting a crown so that’s when I listened to Dr. Ellie and so thankful for all clear info and advice. I have a great dentist but stuck in the twice a year cleanings and xrays. Will be tough to cancel but it seems necessary to build up biofilm. He’s harvard trained but tired of mindless cleanings and x-rays.
Cleaning is a reflection of your oral hygiene. You cannot just stop doing it. You can only make cleanings obsolete
Harvard isn't special, just expensive. They churn out little cogs in the machine. Typical dentistry is very, very outdated and very fixated on creating dependent patients who need expensive work all the time.
I have H Ehlers Danlos syndrome and it really has affected my teeth since I was a toddler, im also autistic with a PDA profile,so doing basic things like eating, drinking ,taking a shower can be very hard for me,I love all that I'm learning, bcs I hate going to the dentist and I'll do anything to stay away from any kind of dr .
I am so happy for your interest and I'd suggest you begin with Zellies xylitol mints.
Maybe try the cherry berry mints - and have one or two after every meal and also last thing before bed at night.
Zellies are fun and delicious and a wonderful way to protect your teeth when oral care is difficult or not possible.
The military used xylitol gum when fighting in areas where oral care is impossible.
The xylitol military program was called "Look For Xylitol First" and this began during the gulf wars when two pieces of xylitol gum was added to every Meal Ready to Eat (MRE)

Thank you. Long term Prednisone patient. RDA of calcium and vitamin D3, (4000iu determinded by blood test to achiece 60 ng/ml) and vitamin K2 as MK4 is a tremendous help.
THANK YOU! I also have wonderful teeth. I am 60 years old and very rarely floss (i hate it and my teeth are so slose together it is such a pain). Additionally, i am a vet and after learning about seeding bacteria into the blood stream and how bad it was, flossing just seemed like a bad idea to me. Interestingly i have always had an overly acidic overall body pH. My finger tips ate the nickel plating off my flute keys and i never have had a yeast infection, but i do not have any teeth problems. I freaked out around perimenopause when i started having "burning mouth" and loss of taste problems in my mouth. I went into the dentist for a checkup after 24 years thinking something dire was going on. They found nothing unusual and were astounded that i had not had my teeth cleaned for 24 years (i grew up next door to my dentist. His daughters were my besties and they had to have ortho work ... my teeth were always very straight cand white). Of course, THEY cleaned my teeth, but neither they or any other doctor could tell me why i had the burning sensation in my mouth and on my tounge n gums. So ... 7 years later at 60 years old i finally got injectable methotrexate perscribed for autoimmune connective tissue problems and chronic pain severe (FINALLY ... believe me nothing or no doctors were of any help until then!). It has helped with everything and from now on i am using your system. Makes total sense! I love my healthy teeth and want to keep them that way for the rest of my life! I only ever had a single cavity in my early twenties and it was in one of these weird, natural tiny pits that were in the later/buccal sides of two of my lower molars (?). My childhood dentist filled the pits on both sides at the time altho i only had a tiny cavity on one side. Now, many pets seem to have horrendous oral/teeth problems most of which (i suspect ) are induced by what and how they are fed. I could net afford it, but my dogs best mouth health exists thru a rawcdiet with bones! Beatiiful teeth! Oh yeah, I have always been a big milk drinker ... i c4ave it and have no lactose issue luckily!
It is so fabulous to hear your dental story...especially all those years you went without a cleaning - yes!!! ...good for you!
When I gave up dental cleanings I wondered how long I would be able to "go" without a cleaning.
I was thinking at the time - maybe four or five years....then ten...then twenty ...now it is 45 years :)
I continued to get evaluations frequently and did lots of bacterial testing during that time.
I even won an "oral health competition" in 2015 comparing oral health among a group of doctors and dentists....it's quite amusing.
Here is a link to this competition which occurred at a dental meeting in 2015....

Great!
From spain trying to get ACT. Is very helpfull vídeo.
Thanks a lot!
Hi, I'm from Poland 🇵🇱, for Amazon delivery needs to wait over a month for ACT...😢aby tips?
Can you get hold of Colgate Fluorigard? I believe that’s an alternative to the Act mouthwash
where did you find it in spain? I'm struggling too!
My husband and I started your total mouth care system last week and it's incredible how different my mouth feels! QUESTION: You mentioned the mouthwash with zinc can cause sensitivity. Does taking zinc as a supplement to the same thing, or is it only when used as a rinse? Thank you so much, I have learned so much from you!
I was just thinking the same question.
Thank you so much, Dr. My wife and I started following your system 2 days ago. We love it, our teeth feel really clean. Some products are not available in Canada, but we were able to buy them from the US.
Hello. How much did ACT cost with shipping ? The prices I found are quite unappealing.
@DOLEWDREW I think it came up to 37 cad We are about 1 hour from the US. We got a 6 months supply of Closys and ACT. Paid the custom duties and a nice stroll for my family.
@@DOLEWDREW Fluoriguard is a product some people have told me will work in place of ACT.
@@dr.elliephillips Thanks for your reply but Fluoriguard is not available either. I found a Colgate Pro-Relief that has .05% sodium fluoride. But I do have some concerns that I hope you can address about an interview I saw by a lady in Texas who practices biological dentistry. She stated that most mouthwashes are like taking a blowtorch to the microbiome and that Listerine is akin to Roundup for the mouth😕❗She also emphasized that cavities are not caused by a Fluoride deficiency. I would appreciate a commentary on these points she made. Thanks!
@@DOLEWDREW There is a lot of misinformation about mouth- rinse. I have addressed this in all kinds of places.

Thank you Dr. Ellie. Do you have recommendation for a similar mouthwash in Europe? Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi Dr Phillips. I started your system a few days ago. Thank you for all the important information.
Should I rinse brush my teeth as soon as I wake up, or rinse and brush after breakfast?
So excited to try your method, Dr. Ellie! Thank you!!!
Its true. I compared both act bottle sizes. The smaller size is more potent than larger size. That's why larger size costs less.
Yes - the Remineralize version is 0.02%.....twice as much water .....
Well, it's a different product, not just different size (Anticavity vs. Restoring). Fortunately, they state the concentration so it's easy to check.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for teaching us! I understood the purpose of each step, except for using ACT (fluoride rinse) at the end. What is the purpose of using this product please? Is it also remineralization (like the toohpaste Crest)?
Thanks and have a blessed 2024 Kwesiga Yowasi Kampala Uganda!
Wonderful video. Exceptionally presented. Dr Ellie you speak so beautifully and have a lovely way of presenting your content.
I have a question please. What is the difference between Listerine Cool Mint and Zero mouthwashes? Because the cool mint and zero bottles are the same colour and so look the same. Also on the Zero bottle (which I have) there are no percentage breakdowns given of the ingredient that you stated the mouthwash needed in order to be effective.
Thank you from Australia.
Listerine zero has no alcohol in it. The cool mint has alcohol in it. According to the companies own website the cool mint reduces plaque and gum disease and the zero doesn't do either of those.
Hey Ellie, thanks for your amazing recommendations! I live in Italy, and the only ACT mouth rinse I can find on-line in Europe is the Restoring and not the Anticavity. Would you kindly suggest alternative brands that would be compatible to the American ACT and that I would possibly be able to find on this side of the pond? Thank you again for all that you do!
Colgate Fluorigard but I would try to get ACT from iherb
Hi Dr Ellie. Sorry one more question. Do you have an Australian equivalent for Zellies 100% Xylitol gum or mints please? I don't think its available in Australia. Thank you.
I can only buy in the UK the kids ACT the grape flavour, however it still has the same amount of fluoride in it, so I hope that’s ok. I have started on your 5 step dental process, which includes Xylitol mints, and my teeth feel so shiny, and I feel my mouth is really clean. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Oh that’s great to know. I want to tell others. What toothpaste are you able to get?
@@dr.elliephillips Crest Cavity but only on Amazon.
I can only find kids Act in my country too can i use it??
Cannot get ACT here in the UK although have managed the other mouthwashes/brushes etc. Is there anything I can use instead?
@@dr.elliephillipssame here. Cannot get ACT in the UK.
I have however got the Closys, and Xylitol toothpaste, and Xylitol mouthwash, and the gum. Can these be used in your system?
Perfect!!
Going to buy the specified items today and give it a shot. Good information in all 5 vids! I did try the brushing of the gums technique and teeth followed by the mouth rinse. My gums feel better. I usually just ran over them but this time I invested into it! I had to use my sensodyne though..for now! But currently my tooth pain and wisdom teeth feel better. I hope the system will help me! And talk more about how pregnancy kills teeth! Not literally of course but I wish I’d known! I had great teeth before and now some have been pulled. And these darn wisdom teeth…I thought only one left to deal with but no…at 43 the 4th one is now erupting in. I felt around and can actually feel the small bit of tooth! Crazy! 😂 Have a great day!❤

Does your plan affect nitric oxide production?
Hi Dr. Ellie, I just found you and can’t wait to start your system. QUESTION: I have bad plaque. Should I get a professional cleaning to remove and proceed with your system? Or will your system eventually remove it naturally? Lastly, thank you for your passion and dedication! ❤️
Start first and have a dental cleaning in a month or two - it will be much easier for the dentist and for you :)
At DrEllie.com you can get a free downloadable booklet and also links to the products on Amazon - to ensure you have the exact products.
Also ensure you have the good toothbrushes that I recommend and you are doing gum massage.

Excellent video I am ion the program immediately!! May I ask what you recommend for sensitive teeth I am using Sensodyne with good results. Should I look for another toothpaste?? Thank you
In the video description the doctor shared her resources. Starting her complete mouth care system will reduce teeth sensitivity and you will have to stop Sensodyne to allow normal teeth remineralization
I started her program over a month ago and my teeth are considerably less sensitive now :)
for the listerine cool mint mouth wash, there are two version: with Alcohol vs with No alcohol. do they work the same? or better to get the one with Alcohol ? Thank you.
At night time, can I wear my night guard afterwards (for clenching/grinding)? Does the guard interfere with the ph or biofilm in the mouth when sleeping?
Dr. Zellie you make me laugh out loud. I can see you at the London Mercantile Exchange barraging a whole mkt of Euro gold. Badass.
Is there a UK alternative i have purchased Colgate Fluorigard as it contains 0.05% sodium fluoride I am unable to get the ACT you state in the UK Many thanks so glad i found your channel and wish i had found it years ago
I'm from Russia and I want to thank you for your system and the hope that you brought to the people by this❤ Can I ask a question? You mentioned that ACT is the most important rinse. I've ordered every item from your system, except for ACT. Can you give any other variants close to it to substitute it? It seems that ACT is no longer on production. Thanks a lot, dear doctor Ellie❤
Dr Phillips, I'm here in Canada and looking at the ACT wash available. All flavours and varieties contain cetylpyridinium chloride, which is another antiseptic /antibacterial used in other mouthwashes. Is this not a problem for disrupting the ideal mouth flora?
Thank you! Please, why do zellies ( xylitol) works in harmony with the ACT? What is the purpose of using ACT at the end? I would like to understand. I'm really enjoying learning all the benefits of each step. It helps me have more discipline applying things. 😊
A day’s recap :
when you wake up, your mouth is acidic. Mouth wash it back to neutral (alkaline) with Closys. Then brush your teeth.
When you eat : mouth gets acidic. At the end of meal, Xylitol mint or gum rebalances your mouth’s pH back to neutral (alkaline).
At night: brush, Listerine (twice swish), followed by Act.
Listerine is an antiseptic that contains 3 essential oils that kills certain bacteria, and it’s also acidic. That’s why you have to rinse it out with the following Act mouthwash that alkaline’s. Act also contains Fluoride which is what you want to keep on your teeth to Remineralize them at the very end of the process.
Cheers!
After 2 weeks of using Dr.Auchi herbal medicine for my bad breath disease, it was cured. That was the reason I decide to let everyone know that Dr.Auchi herbal medicine worked for me in curing my Bad Breath because it is on CZcams platform that I found it…✅✅
Thank you Dr. Ellie for your excellent information. What about the Closys you have in your guide. Do you still recommend that product? Thank you!
DrEllie.com for all links to currently recommended products. Nothing has changed. Closys Ultra Sensitive is the one you want.
@dr.elliephillips I reside in the Philippines and I don't think these products are available here except for Crest. What can I use as alternatives and what brand of Xylitol can I take? Zellies is just available in the US and Canada. Thank you.
I just use granulated Xylitol from the supermarket as Zellies isn’t available here in the UK either 🙂
Thank you so much. I live in Europe and would be grateful for alternative suggestions for the CloSYS and ACT mouth rinses. Also is there an alternative to Crest toothpaste? As I am unable to buy these items here. Many thanks in advance, Emma
Ultradex instead of the Closys and Colgate Fluorigard instead of the Act 👍. I’ve not heard her mention an alternative for the Crest paste though
...everybody's GREAT GRANDMOTHER ... love her
Hi Dr Ellie, thank you for your video. Please may you explain why we use the ACT mouthwash rather than leaving the crest toothpaste (with a higher concentration of flouride) on our teeth? Can we go back in with crest after on our teeth for extra protection? I am currently awaiting my delivery form Healthy Kiwis. Thank you 😀
Hi Dr. Ellie! I am so curious about all of this. And it is very clear that you have a tremendous wealth of experience. Honest question: I am sensitive to fluoride.. what do you recommend in this case? Thank you :)
Use very dilute and specific fluoride compounds topically - never ingested. Do you drink teas?
Dr Ellie, the only ACT I’ve found so far (lots of hunting) which seems close to what you’re recommending is ACT Total Care, then in smaller print on front label it says “anticavity fluoride mouthwash”. Also “fresh mint”. It is a green liquid. I”ve found it on Amazon UK. (I’m in UK). Until I’ve got the right ACT, what should I do after the Listerine step? I’ve got all the other products now.
Is the cool mint regular listerine without alcohol ok to use? Thank you so much for the great guidance. I'm getting the products to start my oral care healing protocol that you recommend. 🙏💜
Alcohol in Listerine is a must
@@LoyolaMan how about the sorbitol in it? i thought the dr phillips said sorbitol is not good from the previous video?
@@7SlicesOfPizzaWe have to accept sorbitol in products that have been tested and deliver proven results like certain types of Listerine and ACT. But if you're going to use alternatives it is better to be avoided.
@@7SlicesOfPizza What can you do if only products that work with the system contain sorbitol along with dyes, preservatives and colorants?
Hi Dr. Ellie, I’m so excited to get started with your program - I have a question about the use of probiotics. I just purchased Pro-Dental by hyper-biotics brand and it instructs to chew the probiotic tablet after brushing and using mouthwash - would this be safe to do right after using your system? Or is there a better time I should take it? Thank you!
Hmmm...good question. I'd use these maybe mid-afternoon - by themselves. This is when your saliva is at its most healing and supportive.
I am not sure how these probiotics are supposed to work - since biofilm does not accept "intruder bacteria" but - at least use them up I guess :)
If you are interested to learn more about the difference between planktonic and biofilm bacteria - my book Mouth Care Comes Clean is an explanation of the mouths biochemistry in simple language.
I just looked at the ingredients in these oral probiotics and the zinc can cause nasty reactions and sensitivity.
I'd suggest you use either those or my system - don't mix and match.
Figure out for yourself if you like them - or even want to use them.
That's my recommendation.
Thank you for your reccomendations! I am starting your Complete Mouth Care System and trying to locate all the necessary items. I live in a small city in the south of France. So far I have not found ACT mouthwash. Is there anything else I could use or know the major ingredients to look for in another brand? Thank you so much for your help!!
Colgate Fluorigard. Does iherb ship to France?
Thank you for the information! I’ve always heard so many negative things about fluoride - what are your thoughts on this? Particularly, the negative neurological effects of fluoride.
Negative effects are with ingesting fluoride. Dr. Ellie isn't recommending that.
I have developed sensitivity after using your system for a week. Should i stop using it or continue? I have all the right products
Check the video about sensitivity
Any thoughts on the Cool Mint Listerine equivalents available at CVS, etc.? The ingredients list is identical.
Thank you Dr. Ellie. You are so beautiful❤
You are kind. Thanks for a sweet comment. I’m working to find a solution for wrinkles next!! Haha! 🤣
Would zinc supplementation sensitize the gums as well?
Thanks a lot Dr. Ellie for the best info and helping people 👍🙏❤️. Q: what do you think about mouthwash with salt water after the meal during the day?
Doesn't do the same thing as Xylitol does. Good luck.
Thank you!!! I appreciate the details you put into the items!!!!!
Does anyone know what toothpaste is the equivalent of Crest here in Ireland. Crest can be bought online but I don’t see the original formula plus it works out expensive with delivery included 🇮🇪
Is it okay to use the cinnamon version? Its the only one i can find online
Dear Doctor - I have just met you in your programs. I started your protocol last week.
I have a question. On the ACT label it tells: once a day and I missed your comment on this. May I please request your comment?
Thank you and Happy New Year!
Does it have to be the ACT with mint flavor, or is the arctic blast or cinnamon flavor acceptable too?
Hi. I’m struggling to obtain act in uk at an affordable price. The ultra dex in the UK has fluoride(sodium monofluorosphate) at 230 ppm. Could I substitute ultra dex instead of act for the final rinse please?
Hey Dr. Ellie, do you wash out your mouth with water before going to sleep after using the ACT rinse, or do you not want to do that?
I do not suggest you rinse at all during or after using the system.
This is because rinsing would wash away the amazing benefits of this system.
It would be similar to taking a shower after having beautiful oils applied to your skin at a spa treatment....
Instead, spit out the rinse - several times if necessary.
If you find you have a lot of saliva - try using a xylitol nasal spray as another final "step"...after the ACT rinse.
You can also have a Zellie mint if you want to get the taste out of your mouth.
Water will wash away the benefits. A Zellie's mint will stimulate a flow of saliva and this will be beneficial as it "washes" over your mouth supplying minerals and immune cells that will help to heal your teeth and gums.
@@dr.elliephillips oh that's a great idea i can definitely do that. thanks for responding! I've been doing it for some weeks now and I'm really liking the results
Can you please mention how many times to use the mouthwashes that you recommended? Is it after every meal or snacking? Or just twice a day at the time of brushing?
They only had the Zero Alcohol Anti Cavity Act in Arctic Blast at my grocery store. Is that one okay? It has the same amount of fluoride. Same ingredients besides the coloring.
Thanks Dr Ellie. I can see from other comments that you say Colgate Flourigard is an alternative to ACT; but Flourigard has glycerin in it, is this not bad for the teeth or gums?

Dear Dr. Phillips. I can buy only ACT Restoring in my country. Is it better to use this one if ACT anticavity is not available or is it better to make some extra effort and try to order it from the USA? Thank you!
Use exact products doctor has recommended.
Hi Dr Ellie, is this normal when using Listerine, there is a thing looks like a few lump with listerine colour coming out ?
Brushing with act toothpaste cavity protection, wash with listerine cool mint, after wash it with act anticavity. Do i have to wash with water at the end or just leave it as it is?
I think maybe the biggest current concern I have is that I’m wearing plastic retainers atm and I can’t afford not to rinse off any product that contains dyes so I always make sure to do so thoroughly. I wonder how much would that affect the effectiveness of the treatment
After you use my system - you could wait ten minutes and have a Zellie mint before putting the retainer back in your mouth.
This is actually what I recommend to people with night guards or with a dry mouth for any reason.
The Zellie mint will stimulate your own saliva flow - which will wash the rinses away but leave your saliva on your teeth to mineralize them.
Water washes minerals and all the benefits away.
Stimulating saliva flow will allow this mineralizing liquid to work its magic on your teeth - inside the retainer....a really great idea :)
@DrElliePhillips I bought the correct smaller size Act. However a main ingredient is sorbitol. I take it this is a non-issue.
In another recent video... think it was the step 2 one about toothpaste she addresses the sorbitol issue. Basically she says it will be okay to use these mouthwashes with sorbitol as it's not perfect but its the best products currently available that accomplish what she is trying to help us accomplish.
I need to check those ingredients.. if they have chemicals or petroleum or dyes I won't use those no matter what. The mouth is so absorbent and I live chemical free as much as I can control and this includes floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, etc.. not to mention food, drinks, soaps, shampoos, etc..
I've started a xylitol regimen too and my teeth have never felt more smooth and clean. I'm looking for 1 product well maybe a toothpaste and mouthrinse but like I said no chemicals, dyes or scrubbing agents.
Right now I'm using risewell toothpaste mixed with Dr bronners for a little more mint kick. I'm using their mouthwash at night. I'll do another in the morning which is black seed oil, tea tree, Spearmint, xylitol and activated charcoal. Then I have xylitol crystals I'll swish around after I eat and zellies mints too. As well as SMILE gun which is xylitol and activated charcoal. I like this gum because 1 it gets hard after a while and if I chew it long enough it gives me a nice workout to strengthen and tighten my face. I can already see a difference as it tightens my face too.
Anyways, anyone have a all in one solution or more consolidated solution?
I went against my knowledge about those additives and tried it, my sons ADHD went crazy with those food dyes. My gut was right.
Yeah I'm not taking those nor letting the kids around dyes either. Glad you figured it out though.
Hi. What is your opinion on Risewell or Boka toothpaste? Thanks!!
she doesn't like that nano stuff.
Thank you so much for all this information! I want to try out your system but live in the UK. I can get access to most of the products except for the zellies mints / chewing gum, is there a UK alternative?
Any other brand just avoid glycerin/glycerol and other sweeteners. Doctor recommended Peppersmith but Pur, Xlear, Epic should work as well
@@LoyolaMan thank you so much this is really helpful!
The green act is most of the time out of stock on Europe. Os it ok to use the other 2 while the green is unavailable? I have all 4 steps except the last 😢
For how long should you leave it before using xylitol? Can you use lower than recommended dose (smaller volume) for all washes or just CloSYS? I usually do struggle keeping the recommended dose in my mouth and would often go down to a half (very comfortable volume). If I understood correctly, you said in Part 2 that it applies to all of them, but I'm not certain. Thank you for a reply.
Should we use water to rinse after the ACT mouthwash?
Do we have to wait 30+ minutes afterwards before we can chew xylitol mints?
Thanks.
Don’t rinse Act off. It’s a wash to remineralize your teeth. It would beat the purpose and lose money on a product you’re not using correctly.
Xylitol rebalances the pH of your mouth while strengthening your teeth. Immediately consume it after your meal, you’ll taste and feel a difference.
Hi Dr Ellie, both ACT mouthwashes in this video have the same thing on the back. Sodium fluoride 0.05% (0.02% w/v fluoride ion). Have the products now changed and are they now the same %? Thank you
How long to wait to drink water after we’ve done the system?
I'm in Canada. ACT is like double the price compared to other fluoride mouthwashes. Do you have alternative brands in Canada you can recommend?
ACT is not available in France 🇫🇷 what can we replace it with ? … in the meantime , can we use the Closys a second time after we use the listerine ? thank you 🙏🏼
Colgate Fluorigard
Do i have to use act mouth rince ( cavity protection ) once a day or twice a day ???
Can you please suggest alternative of act mouthwash in India. Please.
Hi Dr Ellie! Is there an Australian equivalent for the ACT Anticavity mouthrinse please? It's not available here.
Neither in Germany ...
The bottle of Act says 1x daily so should I use in morning or at night? Thanks for clearing this up.
You use it as the doctor says to use it
I bought the wrong ACT. Can I use it and buy the right one next time or should I throw it out?
What about Clo-sys ( I think that's correct) you previously recommended?
Yes she still does
If you go to the first step, she explains it well there:)
Do you have anything to say to the doctors that claim that mouthwash ultimately causes high blood pressure due to a disturbance in 'good' mouth bacteria and therefore whole-body digestive system biome? Thank-you
Just wondering if fluoride is good if you have severe dental pocket (4-9mm) ?
Not bad or good. Has nothing to do with it
Dr Ellie, I have always used cool mint and kept it swishing in my mouth until there is no more burning hot sensation in my mouth, even rolling and bending my tongue until the burn vanishes….is this a bad thing to do in your protocol?
protocol says swishing until it burns
Can you use Listerine “Zero” Cool Mint instead which has zero alcohol? Followed by ACT of course.
No, alchohol version only
appreciate if you could advice if can i use Zero Listerine which does not contain alcohol, you didn't mention Zero in you video
Not the same formula. Only “cool mint” (doesn’t have alcohol) or “original”.
I eagerly bought the products mentioned to try after dental cleaning, however to my horror my teeth started to develop horrible brown stains! I searched online and found the likely culprit to be the ingredient Cetylpyridinium chloride CPC found in the ACT mouthwash recommended. Apparently the only way to remove it is to get it cleaned at the dentist’s, however I was hoping you have an alternative solution. Also, what mouthwash would you then recommend for those of us whose teeth get stained brown by ACT mouthwash?
I'd like to know this too. I'm concerned my teeth will be damaged by a rough dental cleaning to get rid of the brown spots.
I accidentally bought the original crest gel instead of the paste. Is that ok? In the future I will buy the paste. 👍🏻
that gel tube will last for a year or even more )
Looking for something that can replace Closys ultra sensitive mouthwash. It’s extreme hard to find.
Dr Phillips, I would love to hear your thoughts on CariFree Treatment Anti-cavity Flouride mouthwash, because based on your recommendations, it seems to fit the bill for the perfect post-brushing rinse as it also has a high pH, unlike either Listerine or ACT. Their website says it is anti-microbial, anti-cavity, remineralizing and pH-balancing.
Active Ingredients: .05% Sodium Fluoride when mixed
Inactive Ingredients: Menthol, Natural Flavors, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Benzoate, Water, Xylitol
Listerine and ACT are made by leading pharmaceutical companies and have proven clinical studies behind them. You did not listen to what doctor says.
CariFree was designed for children - and the first rinse in the sequence is basically chlorox.....dilute bleach.
This is not my recommendation - and so I have never tried or experimented with the CariFree line.
I am pretty certain they will not provide the same long term outcome.
The final rinse - does it work? I'm not sure - Just check if it has glycerin in it......because that would be a potential problem you would avoid with ACT.
can i rinse my mouth out with water at the end of the system? Your booklet says don't rinse with water. I definitely don't want alcohol or fluoride residue in my mouth after the treatment (or anything else unsavory) .. Please advise
Is cinnamon ACT mouthwash okay? I already bought by mistake.
I'm in the UK, iHerb is out of stock of the correct ACT mouth wash. Is Colgate fluorigard alcohol free a good substitute?
ACT is already is back in stock. Fluorigard is not so good as it contains glycerin
@@LoyolaMan Thanks for taking the time to reply, i have bought Act already from iherb. I didn't notice fluoriguard had glycerin, thanks for pointing that out.
I'm having trouble figuring out whether ACT anti-cavity cinnamon works as well as the ACT anti-cavity mint flavor. Any thoughts?
Compare ingredients. AFAIR it lacks some antimicrobial stuff
Why write in German here? There are no alternatives to these products but for Crest.
hi Dr, I hope to hear your kind reply. The mint flavor is not in stock. But in your pdf, you did say that if there is no Mint, then get the Cinnamon and Bubblegum flavor. Does that still stand true? Thank you.
Flavor does not play any role, compare ingredients
@@LoyolaMan Yes i did. Which is why I had to ask because the cinnamon ingredients are quite different from the mint. There is another flavor called Artic Burst, which is more similar to Mint but in her downloadable pdf, she specifically mentions only Cinnamon and Bubblegum flavors, stay away from any other flavors. I am wondering if the pdf is outdated, that is why I need to ask.
Are you still recommending the ACT Bubble Gum Blowout variant? It's the only one I can buy here
It seems that ACT Anticavity Fluoride Rinse has three flavors. In addition to mint in the video, there are arctic blast and cinnamon, and the ingredients seem to be the same for all of them according to the site description. Is it okay to use something other than mint?
Go get them!
She tells you right in this video do NOT get the other colors or flavors!
I was wondering the same thing. In another comment with a similar question, Dr Ellie has answered that it should be ok (if it is the exact same bottle, with just another flavour, for example cinnamon). 😊
@@ennes1984 I see. Thank you for letting me know.
I am in Canada, and there is ACT Anticavity Cinnamon , pretty scary red color 🙂 on Amazon Canada. is it OK to use?
It should be Ok if you like cinnamon. The alternative may be called Fluoriguard.
@fe7153 @prestonnorris9822 Here is Dr Ellie's answer 😊
Dr Phillips, one more question: i can only find Listerine here in Romania as mouthwash (no ACT anticavity products for adults except those for kids, with fruit flavors but not sure if they are ok?) and i noticed it contains sorbitol, poloxamer 407, benzoic acid, sodium saccharin, methyl salicylate, sodium benzoate. Are these safe for autoimmune disease issues? i stayed away from anything un-natural for many years and used oil pulling instead so im a bit afraid of not natural ingredients since my body reacts quite badly. I have also read in one of your articles that sorbitol may not work well with the xylitol? im not sure i understood correctly. Thank you!
Ask your doctor who sees you for compliance. You can buy ACT and others over the internet. Oil pulling is a big NO in this system. Visit the doctor's online oral bootcamp to learn how things work
This system battered my mouth. The ingredients in these products are extremely harsh. After 3 days of use I had a dry and burned tongue, metallic taste that didn't go away, loss my sense of taste, and painful inflamed taste buds. This lasted a week after discontinued use of her system.
What do you think of other dentists recommending stop using mouthwash? Some are saying mouthwash destroys the bacteria that produces Nitric Oxide.I am using your system now for a month or a little more because I have some big pockets on my lowers which is all I have. I have an upper denture. Im a little concerned because of the importance that Nitric Oxide has in our body. Im hoping the pockets will improve over time and my teeth be less sensitive.
They are very confused and are spreading wrong information.
I sell nitric oxide test strips on my website DrEllie.com if you want to find out for yourself.
My book Mouth Care Comes Clean discussed the importance of nitric oxide and mouth bacteria in 2019. These young DDS think they are cool but they are just learning about NO and mouth bacteria and they are so confused.
