  • My Complete Mouth Care System. Developed over decades from experience as a dentist for 40+ years and being tired of seeing people suffer with oral health problems. I decided to create a mouth care system that would stop oral health problems, prevent and reverse gum recession, plaque, cavities and create clean, white and healthy teeth. This video will go into detail about every step of the Complete Mouth Care System, how it works and why it is important to follow. The last step is the use of Act mouthwash. It is important to choose the correct mouthwash, and this mouthwash is probably the most important mouthwash to use for your oral health.

Wow DR. Ellie, you are a legend for all this information. After not taking great care of my teeth, never having learned as a child how to correctly, I am excited to try your system. I was taught to rinse my mouth with water after brushing. I have an incredibly healthy diet these days due to health reasons, and just had all my really bad cavities filled and spent a bunch of money after not visiting the dentist for over a decade except for emergencies. I have been using flouride free toothpaste for like 2 years, as I'm scared of it, (I also don't drink tap water for that reason) and you've convinced me to make the jump back to it and your system as a whole. Thanks again, I'll be ordering the mints and buying all the products tomorrow to start this system daily!

Acquired the rinses, brushes and mints and the cycle of placque has been broken. My teeth feel shiny, slippery. I’m 61, disappointed in about getting a crown so that’s when I listened to Dr. Ellie and so thankful for all clear info and advice. I have a great dentist but stuck in the twice a year cleanings and xrays. Will be tough to cancel but it seems necessary to build up biofilm. Maybe try the cherry berry mints - and have one or two after every meal and also last thing before bed at night.
Zellies are fun and delicious and a wonderful way to protect your teeth when oral care is difficult or not possible.
The military used xylitol gum when fighting in areas where oral care is impossible.
The xylitol military program was called "Look For Xylitol First" and this began during the gulf wars when two pieces of xylitol gum was added to every Meal Ready to Eat (MRE)

THANK YOU! I also have wonderful teeth. I am 60 years old and very rarely floss (i hate it and my teeth are so slose together it is such a pain). Additionally, i am a vet and after learning about seeding bacteria into the blood stream and how bad it was, flossing just seemed like a bad idea to me. Interestingly i have always had an overly acidic overall body pH. My finger tips ate the nickel plating off my flute keys and i never have had a yeast infection, but i do not have any teeth problems. I freaked out around perimenopause when i started having "burning mouth" and loss of taste problems in my mouth. I went into the dentist for a checkup after 24 years thinking something dire was going on. They found nothing unusual and were astounded that i had not had my teeth cleaned for 24 years (i grew up next door to my dentist. His daughters were my besties and they had to have ortho work ... my teeth were always very straight cand white). Of course, THEY cleaned my teeth, but neither they or any other doctor could tell me why i had the burning sensation in my mouth and on my tounge n gums. So ... 7 years later at 60 years old i finally got injectable methotrexate perscribed for autoimmune connective tissue problems and chronic pain severe (FINALLY ... believe me nothing or no doctors were of any help until then!). It has helped with everything and from now on i am using your system. Makes total sense! I love my healthy teeth and want to keep them that way for the rest of my life! I only ever had a single cavity in my early twenties and it was in one of these weird, natural tiny pits that were in the later/buccal sides of two of my lower molars (?). My childhood dentist filled the pits on both sides at the time altho i only had a tiny cavity on one side. Now, many pets seem to have horrendous oral/teeth problems most of which (i suspect ) are induced by what and how they are fed. I could net afford it, but my dogs best mouth health exists thru a rawcdiet with bones! Beatiiful teeth! Oh yeah, I have always been a big milk drinker ... i c4ave it and have no lactose issue luckily!

It is so fabulous to hear your dental story...especially all those years you went without a cleaning - yes!!! ...good for you!
When I gave up dental cleanings I wondered how long I would be able to "go" without a cleaning.
I was thinking at the time - maybe four or five years....then ten...then twenty ...now it is 45 years :)
I continued to get evaluations frequently and did lots of bacterial testing during that time.
I even won an "oral health competition" in 2015 comparing oral health among a group of doctors and dentists....it's quite amusing.

      A day’s recap :
when you wake up, your mouth is acidic. Mouth wash it back to neutral (alkaline) with Closys. Then brush your teeth.
When you eat : mouth gets acidic. At the end of meal, Xylitol mint or gum rebalances your mouth’s pH back to neutral (alkaline).
At night: brush, Listerine (twice swish), followed by Act.
Listerine is an antiseptic that contains 3 essential oils that kills certain bacteria, and it’s also acidic. That’s why you have to rinse it out with the following Act mouthwash that alkaline’s. Act also contains Fluoride which is what you want to keep on your teeth to Remineralize them at the very end of the process.
      Cheers!

I just purchased Pro-Dental by hyper-biotics brand and it instructs to chew the probiotic tablet after brushing and using mouthwash - would this be safe to do right after using your system? Or is there a better time I should take it? Thank you!

Hmmm...good question. I'd use these maybe mid-afternoon - by themselves. This is when your saliva is at its most healing and supportive.
I am not sure how these probiotics are supposed to work - since biofilm does not accept "intruder bacteria" but - at least use them up I guess :)

    • @dr.elliephillips
      @dr.elliephillips  Před 7 měsíci +6

I do not suggest you rinse at all during or after using the system.
This is because rinsing would wash away the amazing benefits of this system.
It would be similar to taking a shower after having beautiful oils applied to your skin at a spa treatment....
Instead, spit out the rinse - several times if necessary.
If you find you have a lot of saliva - try using a xylitol nasal spray as another final "step"...after the ACT rinse.
You can also have a Zellie mint if you want to get the taste out of your mouth.
Water will wash away the benefits. A Zellie's mint will stimulate a flow of saliva and this will be beneficial as it "washes" over your mouth supplying minerals and immune cells that will help to heal your teeth and gums.

    • @dr.elliephillips
      @dr.elliephillips  Před 7 měsíci +6

After you use my system - you could wait ten minutes and have a Zellie mint before putting the retainer back in your mouth.
This is actually what I recommend to people with night guards or with a dry mouth for any reason.
The Zellie mint will stimulate your own saliva flow - which will wash the rinses away but leave your saliva on your teeth to mineralize them.
Water washes minerals and all the benefits away.
Stimulating saliva flow will allow this mineralizing liquid to work its magic on your teeth - inside the retainer....a really great idea :)

I've started a xylitol regimen too and my teeth have never felt more smooth and clean. I'm looking for 1 product well maybe a toothpaste and mouthrinse but like I said no chemicals, dyes or scrubbing agents.
Right now I'm using risewell toothpaste mixed with Dr bronners for a little more mint kick. I'm using their mouthwash at night. I'll do another in the morning which is black seed oil, tea tree, Spearmint, xylitol and activated charcoal. Then I have xylitol crystals I'll swish around after I eat and zellies mints too. As well as SMILE gun which is xylitol and activated charcoal. I like this gum because 1 it gets hard after a while and if I chew it long enough it gives me a nice workout to strengthen and tighten my face. I can already see a difference as it tightens my face too.

I was wondering the same thing. In another comment with a similar question, Dr Ellie has answered that it should be ok (if it is the exact same bottle, with just another flavour, for example cinnamon). 😊

It should be Ok if you like cinnamon. The alternative may be called Fluoriguard.

Dr Phillips, one more question: i can only find Listerine here in Romania as mouthwash (no ACT anticavity products for adults except those for kids, with fruit flavors but not sure if they are ok?) and i noticed it contains sorbitol, poloxamer 407, benzoic acid, sodium saccharin, methyl salicylate, sodium benzoate. Are these safe for autoimmune disease issues? i stayed away from anything un-natural for many years and used oil pulling instead so im a bit afraid of not natural ingredients since my body reacts quite badly. I have also read in one of your articles that sorbitol may not work well with the xylitol? im not sure i understood correctly. Thank you!

Ask your doctor who sees you for compliance. You can buy ACT and others over the internet. Oil pulling is a big NO in this system. Visit the doctor's online oral bootcamp to learn how things work

This system battered my mouth. The ingredients in these products are extremely harsh. After 3 days of use I had a dry and burned tongue, metallic taste that didn't go away, loss my sense of taste, and painful inflamed taste buds. This lasted a week after discontinued use of her system.

What do you think of other dentists recommending stop using mouthwash? Some are saying mouthwash destroys the bacteria that produces Nitric Oxide.I am using your system now for a month or a little more because I have some big pockets on my lowers which is all I have. I have an upper denture. Im a little concerned because of the importance that Nitric Oxide has in our body. Im hoping the pockets will improve over time and my teeth be less sensitive.

They are very confused and are spreading wrong information.
I sell nitric oxide test strips on my website DrEllie.com if you want to find out for yourself.
My book Mouth Care Comes Clean discussed the importance of nitric oxide and mouth bacteria in 2019. These young DDS think they are cool but they are just learning about NO and mouth bacteria and they are so confused.
