Manners and a few other BM songs has a bluesy/late 60's/early 70's feel which makes this old hippie very happy. Kanami has teased us several times with some beautiful blues licks, wish she would do it more often, but I agree with you that one of the massive joys of Band maid is they forever change and never get pigeon holed ( pun absolutely intended)
You've listened to three BAND-MAID songs so far (Thrill, Shambles, FREEDOM), and each time, it seems like you've been gradually won over. However, on this fourth viewing, you've completely surrendered to the heavy bass bombardment delivered by Misa, the bassist. I can relate; two years ago, I discovered BAND-MAID for the first time, and it was just through THIS video that I wholeheartedly became a fan. They're awesome. ✨🥰🤘
Misa is phenomenal, but she stands out also because the band let her. And it always works. This isn't the singer's best performance. She's killing it lately.😊
From their very first video Thrill, they've featured MISA on bass by keeping her high in the mix and letting her play solos. When you've got a treasure you need to show everyone. I like your comment on Black Hole about how what they're playing doesn't sound like it should work but it does. Maybe this is the heart of Band-Maid. They do this in so many of their songs and it's fascinating. Because you liked both of these songs, you're officially a Maidiac.
