Do you have any tips on how to create your own game assets? This is a major block for me. Free assets are good, but at some point, you will need to create your own because different artists have different art styles. I can't just download a bunch of different art style assets and put them in my game because it will look weird. Also I feel more satisfied if I use my own art Thank you
Hi man, I totally get you. I have aphantasia and 'art' is definitely not my strong suit. Aphantasia is condition that doesn't allow me to imagine anything in my head which makes me a really bad artist. However there are useful tools that can help you. You can use aseprite and ai plugin: www.pixellab.ai/ which can keep your pixel-art style in similar manner. From my experience you need to create your own style in this plugin and keep it going from there. It won't be able to copy style that is super advanced. You can also use: kenney.nl/ where everything is created by ONE artist :-) Keep creating and learning, if your game is gonna be good it's mainly based on how good gameplay and design is. If someone sees potential in it you can co-work with people who have different set of skill. You can use kenney assets as placeholders. But to be honest the work that is shared by kenney is astonishing. I hope it helps, good luck :)
